The dealership has had your vehicle for 2 weeks without running diagnostics or offering a loaner vehicle. My truck was affected by the fuel pump recall brought it to the dealership to have it performed was told fuel pump was bad and contamination occurred was told they will repair the truck as part of the recall. 3 weeks later received a call truck was ready but gave a code for temp sensor that was not covered by recall had to pay $500 for the repair I authorized and was told part was out of stock for a week. after the part was installed i was told the car was ready all codes were cleared and car was good to go. Meanwhile the truck was not road tested after all the repairs were completed. I picked up the car friday 4:30pm went home and the truck lost power again and check engine light and lightning bolt came on. dealer was closed had to tow it to them for them to look at Monday. Got a call stating they retightened everything and told me to come get the car. Meanwhile car was not road tested again! picked up the truck and again after 50 miles same thing again check engine light and loss of power brought it back to the dealer and was told that need to do a cleaning of the engine but to drive the truck and see how it goes. took the truck went to work around 90 miles on the highway smoke starting coming into the cabin truck lost complete power and almost caught fire!! vehicle was in NY had it towed to the nearest station until we speak w dealer to arrange for it to be towed back to CT. Spoke w dealer next morning and was told they have an affiliated dealer in NY to have it towed there and they will look at it. Took it to Manhattan Jeep and was told the dpf sensor had melted and they needed to replace it. Part was on back order for a week. Had them replace it after replacing they told me the truck is still not running correct. Statting that the honeycomb in the dpf was broken and needed to be replaced along with the catalyst converter! all this was done due to the recall not being performed correctly!!! and not be road tested after replacing fuel pumps, fuel rail, fuel injec
Fuel spit back on refueling. Repeated attempts produced same result. Dealer said need to replace fuel tank due to check valve problem. Researched found this is continuous problem with Grand Cherokee and other jeep models for several years. Cost the replace tank us excessive.
When I accelerate the fuel pedal to the floor the more it cuts out it did that before the recall on the high pressure fuel pump and it's doing it after supposedly it was replaced. The dealership replaced injectors, fuel rails, fuel filters, all new tubing kit, and most important high pressure fuel pump, upon inspection the dealership only replaced High fuel pressure pump and did not perform the work this is the second time I informed you about this issue. I am so highly concerned not only from my safety but safety of others if they've done this to me the dealership will do it to anyone. I hired an attorney to investigate until these illegal activities and I will be going in front of the Attorney General on this matter. I have a highly concerned issue with this vehicle the admissions is terrible the soot that goes into that engine it's ruining it at 138,000 miles my biggest issue is the exhaust gets in the vehicle with all the windows shut and I get sick on that DEF fluid that burns out the exhaust somehow someway it's getting in the vehicle and it's getting me sick I've already brought this to the attention of the manufacturer and he said the motors are junk and they should be recalled immediately this is my second complaint and no results
The Jeep has had major issues with the fuel system. The first reported issue is during the fill the filler would click like it was full when it was in the beginning stages of the fill. It ended up soaking me with gasoline and shutting down a gas station for spill. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA and the Vermont Attorney General because the dealerships were not fixing the problem. The fuel tank was finally repaired when the Attorney General got involved. 2024 the Jeep is again having issues with the fuel system. When the tank is filled to capacity it creates gasoline fumes so strong that it infiltrates the cabin and can be detected from the parking lot. It is really scary to keep having issues with the fuel system. I am shocked after reading on the internet so many Jeep owners with fuel system issues that the vehicles are not on recall. I want to report this because it is a safety issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the mechanic was not able to restart the vehicle. The contact was then notified that there was no fuel pressure and a fuel system test and injector return test were needed to look for internal fuel damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated to Manufacturer Recall: W57 or W68. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The Z46 Manufacture Campaign has been open for an extended period of time. I have not been able to have my vehicle fixed because of a continued lack of parts at the dealership. I have had my vehicle in for service on multiple occasions and each time I am told "the parts are on back-order". I dropped my vehicle off this morning and again was told "the parts are on back-order".
Z46/NHTSA 22V-406. high pressure fuel pump. I received multiple recall notices for this defect. I received the first notice in JUNE of 2022. Today it is Jan 2024, 19 months after being notified to have repairs made. The JEEP dealer has, for 19 months, told me they cannot a make the repair. The recall notice states "fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning". I believe 19 months exceeds the requirement to "remedy the defect within a reasonable time" Is there anything being done to motivate JEEP to remedy the defect? Thank you for your time.
Recall Z46, NHTSA 22V-406 was issued a ~year back. Dealership was contacted at that time and they informed us a remedy and/or parts are not available. Now, the fuel system has failed. The failure occurred in an intersection. Vehicle was towed to a mechanic and determined it was the fuel system failure and it was under recall. Vehicle was then towed to the dealership. One year later there is still no remedy and/or parts available. Mopar was contacted and they informed me there is no remedy and/or parts are not available. 1 YEAR IS UNREASONABLE. The last recall W79, NHTSA 20V699 was handled the same way. We made the repairs ourselves and then requested a refund which was ignored. I am assuming the newest recall 66A, NHTSA 23V-411 will be handled the same way. A quick search on the internet revealed that MOPAR parts are available to remedy the fuel issue.
The fuel pump recall can cause a major problem if on a highway or interstate (engine can quit suddenly and without warning, according to the recall notice). This recall has been act for nearly a year with no resolution in sight (NHTSA recall number 22V-406, manufacturer recall number Z46).
While on freeway at 50 mph. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0 diesel ,. loss motive power. I was very fortunate to not crash the vehicle, but the situation was horrifying! I received the recall notice for the HPFP ( High pressure Fuel Pump) , Z46/ NHTSA 22V- 406 but Crystler Corp doesn't have the part available to fix. Iam currently have a loan on my vehicle and can't drive it!
There has been a safety recall since June of 2022 out on my car, and the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for the situation. I have since taken it to have work done for a permanent code (caused by the recall), and spent time and money trying to resolve the safety issue that the manufacturer has failed to. I am concerned that I am driving a car with a safety issue that has not yet been resolved after nearly 9 months.
The top of the Fuel Filler Tube - Mopar (68302344AB) is made of weak plastic. While fueling the vehicle, the capless portion of the part above broke and a small amount of fuel spilt. Now the car is difficult to fuel and the fuel tank is exposed due to the lack of the fuel capping mechanism.
The capless gas system is cheap and coming out of the car. It leaks gas out of the bottom and every shop ignores me. I have found multiple conversations online with people having the same problem. This should be recalled. The system was redesigned three times in one year. It is poor engineering. It causes my car to throw codes over and over to no relief.it had happened multiple times over my past two years owning it.

While driving down the road the vehicle lost power. No warning lights had come on prior to losing power. Luckily I was able to get it pulled over off the road before it died completely. After that it would not start but the check engine light was now on. I had vehicle towed to a shop close to my house. After the shop’s diagnostics, I was informed the problem was the high pressure fuel pump.
I was driving to pull up and park and my gas petal stuck . It went forward and Stuck between a pole and a tree. I am very shook up over this as something like this should Never happen.
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM NHTSA SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A DIESEL EGR COOLER SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER RECIEVED NOTICE OF THE RECALL IN NOVEMBER OF 2020. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THE PARTS WERE READY BUT, DID NOT MAKE ANY FURTHER CONTACT WITH THE CONSUMER.
A serious safety problem when fill the SUV with gas that can cause a fire with the SUV & the filling station. Gas just flows out of the filling port before the nozzle shuts off. This has happen 3 times at different stations. Taken it to the dealer. I’m not the only with this problem. A recall is needed!! Consumer stated vehicle was taken to the service dealer and was diagnosed as gas tank venting system which needs to be replaced at $1400. Manufacture has been notified. EGR FAILURE, EGR IS THE SAME THAT IS IN THE RAMS THAT HAS BEEN RECALL FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS. PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE JEEPS, BUT ARE THE SAME EGRS THAT GO ON THE RAMS. EGR IS FAILING ON THESE VEHICLES ARE CREATING ENGINE FIRES WITH NO WARNING
WHEN I WENT TO THE GAS STATION ON RT. 130 IN BURLINGTON, THE ATTENDANT TOLD ME MY GAS CAP WAS BROKEN. I DIDN'T QUITE UNDERSTAND AND THOUGHT HE MEANT THE GAS DOOR SINCE IT IS SOMETIMES HARD TO GET OPEN. I CHECK THIS MORNING TO SEE WHAT HE MEANT AND MY GAS CAP WAS LAYING IN THE BEHIND THE GAS DOOR. I HAVE A CAPLESS SYSTEM. NO NEED TO TWIST. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT BROKE. I CAN ONLY SAY THE ATTENDANCE TOLD ME IT WAS BROKEN BEFORE HE FILLED UP MY TANK.
AFTER NORMAL GAS FUELING, CAR IS STATIONARY, FUEL METER REGISTERS MORE GAS IN TANK THAN PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE. I FILLED UP THE TANK AND METER SHOWS OVER 400 MILES OF FUEL AVAILABLE. TYPICALLY IT SHOULD BE AROUND 330 ON A FULL TANK. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING MY MPG METER FLUCTUATES RAPIDLY FROM 7 MPG TO 60 MPG. I SEE ON JEEP FORUMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. I HAVE A 2014 ECODISEAL SINCE I BOUGHT IT HAS HAD PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM. I THOUGHT OF I SETTLED AND HAD THE EMISSION UPDATE THEN IT WOULD GET BETTER BUT I WAS WRONG MY JEEP HAS HAD ISSUES AFTER ISSUE. LAG TO NO POWER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AFTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WHEN STOPPED AND PARKED AT THE LOCAL GAS STATION THE PLASTIC FUEL FILLER CAP BROKE OFF DURING FUELING CAUSING THE GAS NOZZLE TO FALL OUT. NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. JEEP HAS SINCE CORRECTED THIS PLASTIC PART ON NEWER MODELS WITH METAL. COST OF PART ALONE IS $650.00
VEHICLE WAS BEING REFUELED, ( FUEL LEVEL WAS APPROX 1/3 FULL AND WAS BEING COMPLETELY FILLED). VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER FUELING AND WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FUEL PUMP FAILURE. UPON REMOVAL OF FUEL PUMP FROM GAS TANK, AND REPLACEMENT, VEHICLE AGAIN OPERATED NORMALLY. AN EXAMINATION OF THE FAILED FUEL PUMP REVEALED THAT THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL HARNESS CONNECTION HAD OVERHEATED AND MELTED - CERTAINLY A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR A COMPONENT THAT RESIDES IN THE GAS TANK.
MY 2014 ECO-DIESEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAD AN EMISSIONS RECALL, I AM THE 2ND OWNER. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL WHEN MY CAR WOULDN'T RUN AT NORMAL SPEED, OFTEN I HAD TO DO THE REGENERATION FUEL CLEANING. I HAD OFTEN NOTICE DIESEL FUMES IN THE CAB. I HAD THE RECALL WORK DONE AT GRESHAM JEEP. SOON AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. OCT 16 LITHIA JEEP OF PORTLAND WORKED ON MY JEEP. I HAD BEEN FEELING ILL FOR A WHILE, BURNING EYES, EXHAUSTED & SICK. OCT 28 I BECAME VERY ILL WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO LITHIA MOTORS AND ENDED UP IN THE E.R. WITH CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING. ITS BEEN DIFFICULT GETTING LITHIA JEEP TO FIX MY VEHICLE. IF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL OR IS ANOTHER ISSUE I WANT THIS REPORTED. THE VEHICLE LOST PARTIAL POWER WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL CREATING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THERE WERE NO SYMPTOMS OR OTHER INDICATORS PRIOR TO POWER LOSS. THE VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED, 5-YEARS OLD AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS BY INDEPENDENT INDICATED THE NUMBER 3 CYLINDER LOST COMPRESSION WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED ON A VEHICLE IN THIS GOOD OF CONDITION BUT WAS A PROBLEM COMMON IN JEEPS AND CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO JEEP DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR.
CAN NOT FUEL VEHICLE - NOZZLE KEEPS CLICKING OFF. WE GOT STUCK IN GAS STATION OUT OFF GAS BECAUSE OF THIS ON GOING PROBLEM. NEVER ENDING PROBLEM !
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BREEDEN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 5900 US-71 BUS, FORT SMITH, AR 72908, (479) 646-4731) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT TWO OF THE SIX INJECTORS WERE INOPERABLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY THE INJECTORS FAILED. THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE INJECTORS WERE DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
MY VEHICLE HAS A LONG CRANK BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER. STUCK NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BUT I SEE ONLINE THAT EARLIER MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WAS SAID A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. AM WONDERING IF THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM.

THERE IS A BUTTON ON THE INSIDE OF MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TO OPEN THE FUEL DOOR AND EVERY TIME I HIT THIS BUTTON THE FUEL DOOR WOULD MAKE A SOUND LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO OPEN AND IT WOULDN'T. SO I WAS UNABLE TO PUT GAS IN MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO MY NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL DOOR HOUSING. PARTS AND LABOR COST $448 WITH TAX AND IT WAS A 3 1/2 HOUR JOB TO DO BUT I HAD TO FIX THIS IN ORDER TO PUT FUEL INTO MY CAR.
VEHICLE LUNGES AND BUCKS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GEARS WHILE DRIVING AND ENGINE STALLS AFTER REFUELING OR DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS NUMEROUS OTHER SERVICE LIGHTS COME ON AND CAR STALLS MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND AFTER REFUELING.
CAR CUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING IN TRAFFIC. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I HAD TO CALL 911 BECAUSE I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC. CAR WAS TOWED. I FOUND ONLINE OTHER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE.
I WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN SO I COULD TURN, WHEN I SMELLED GAS. I THOUGHT IT WAS FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AS WHEN I OPENED MY WINDOW I COULD SMELL IT OUTSIDE. AFTER I MADE THE TURN, I WAS STOPPED AT THE NEXT TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT START AND AN INTENSE SMELL OF GASOLINE FILLED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT GASOLINE WAS POURING OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE IN A STEADY STREAM AND APPEARED TO BE DRIPPING FROM OTHER PARTS OF THE UNDERSIDE. I PROMPTLY TURNED OF THE VEHICLE AND BACKED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR THAT A FIRE WAS A REAL POSSIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS EVENTUALLY TOWED TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP WHICH FOUND THAT THE "TRACED TO FUEL LINE BROKEN FROM INTAKE MANIFOLD." I DO NOT RECALL THE VEHICLE HAVING HIT ANYTHING OR RUN OVER ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE OR THE FUEL LINE.

ISSUE: WHEN I PUT FUEL INTO MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, WHETHER I AM PUMPING OR WHETHER IT IS ON AUTO PUMP, THE FUEL SPITS BACK OUT. EVEN IF YOU TRY HOLDING THE FUEL PUMP LEVER SO THAT ONLY VERY MINIMAL FUEL IS COMING OUT, IT CONTINUOUSLY "STOPS"(LIKE IT SHOULD WHEN THE TANK HAS BECOME FULL) IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE FUEL CANNOT GO DOWN INTO THE VEHICLE, AS THE VEHICLE THINKS AFTER 3 SECONDS OF PUMPING IT IS FULL AND SPITS BACK OUT(USUALLY ALL OVER MY HANDS OR CLOTHES).
FUEL PUMP FAILURE AT 1/4 TANK OF GAS. OCCURRED WHILE MAKING A LEFT OUT OF A PARKING LOT. SUDDENLY NO FORWARD PROPULSION OF VEHICLE WHEN PRESSING GAS, IN THE MIDDLE OF EXITING THE PARKING LOT. CLEARED THE LEFT TURN WITH SLOW FORWARD MOMENTUM AND CAR SHUT OFF AFTER MANEUVERING TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAR UNABLE TO START AFTER THAT. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. DEALER ADVISED OF SECONDARY FUEL PUMP FAILURE, WHICH ASSISTS WHEN LESS THAN 1/4 TANK OF GAS AVAILABLE. A SEARCH OF FORUMS INDICATES OTHERS HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM.
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO ALL POWER ON MY JEPP CUT OFF AS I WAS DRIVING ON A 55 MPH TWO LANE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RE-START THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE JEEP DEALER AND THEY DID A "COMPUTER UPGRADE" WHICH THEY SAID RESOLVED THE ISSUE. SINCE THAT TIME THE VEHICLE HAS OPERATED CORRECTLY. I 'M CURRENTLY ON A ROAD TRIP FROM PUNTA GORDA, FL TO PANAMA CITY, FL - SOME 500 MILES FROM MY HOME. OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS, THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY LOST POST FIVE TIMES WHILE IN MOTION, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN TRAVELING ON I-75 AT 70 MPH. I CALLED THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP IN PANAMA CITY, AND THEY INDICATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST ME BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HAD SEVERAL CARS SITTING ON THEIR LOT (THAT DRIVERS WOULD NOT OPERATE) BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. THEY WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE A RENTAL CAR, NOR HAD ANY TIMEFRAME AVAILABLE FOR RESOLUTION OF THIS ISSUE. I AM CURRENTLY IN THE POSITION OF BEING 500 MILES FROM HOME, WHILE I AM SCHEDULED TO ASSIST WITH PLACING AN ELDERLY AUNT AND AND UNCLE IN AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY ON WEDNESDAY. I CALLED THE JEEP CUSTOMER CARE LINE, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD ASSIGN A "CASE MANAGER" TO LOOK AT MY SITUATION, BUT I HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE FROM THEM THUS FAR. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS IS THE SIXTH RECALL THAT I RECEIVED ON A VEHICLE THAT IS LESS THAN FOUR YEARS OLD. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HENDRICKSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 114 N 8TH STREET, MONTICELLO, IN 47960; (574) 583-6151) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-334-9200 AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
VEHICLE STATIONARY AT GAS STATION, USING GASOLINE 87 OCTANE AND FILLING VEHICLE, AFTER ABOUT 8 GALLONS FUEL SPITS OUT OF FILLER NECK AND PUMP STOPS, I HAVE TO SLOWLY AND REPEATEDLY SQUEEZE PUMP TO GET TANK TO FILL. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER A FEW YEARS BACK. WHEN FUEL SPITS OUT OF FILLER IT SPITS ON ME AND THE GROUND POTENTIALLY CAUSING FIRE HAZARD AND DEFINITELY BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE NOZZLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY SHUT OFF AFTER TWO TO THREE GALLONS HAD BEEN FILLED INTO THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL FILLER NECK WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MY JEEP ONLY HAS 41000 MILES ON IT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON SO THERE FOR I CANT EVEN GET A VA.INSPECTION ON IT. THE REMOTE START WILL NOT WORK AS LONG AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I HAD IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL NECK WAS LEAKING AIR AND LOST ITS SEAL. JUST THE PART TO FIX IT COST AROUND $ 500.00 PLUS THE LABOR AT $250.00 THIS IS A NEW IDEA FROM JEEP NOT TO HAVE A GAS CAP FOR THE FUEL NECK. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BY JEEP SINCE THEIR NEW IDEA DOES NOT WORK. 2014 WAS THE FIRST YEAR THAT JEEP DOSN'T HAVE A GAS CAP. JUST THINK, I INVESTED $42000.00 IN MY JEEP WITH ONLY 41000 MILES ON IT AND I CANT GET A VA. INSPECTION STICKER ON IT WITHOUT SPENDING ANOTHER $750.00 ON IT, JUST BECAUSE THEIR NEW IDEA DOESN'T WORK. SERVICE DEF CAME ON AT 34,000 MILES. DEALER SAID THAT THE DEF WAS CONTAMINATED WITH CRYSTALS AND THE PUMP NEEDED REPLACED. REFUSED TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO CONTAMINATION. ONLY PEAK BLUE DEF WHICH MEETS ISO 22241 HAS BEEN USED IN THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD US TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE BACK ORDERED PART WAS AVAILABLE. WHEN QUERIED ABOUT THE VEHICLE GOING INTO "LIMP MODE" THEY AGREED IT WAS A POSSIBILITY. THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL THE PART ARRIVED AND WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CASES ON JEEP FORUMS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF A DEALER TELLS YOU TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THEY KNOW WILL GO INTO LIMP MODE, ESPECIALLLY ON A FREEWAY. WE ALSO HAVE A 14 MONTH OLD CHILD AND LIVE IN COLORADO, BREAKING DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IS NOT AN OPTION. THE DEALER DOES NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS AND CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE SIDED WITH THE DEALER AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE.
I PURCHASED A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED EDITION FROM WILLIE RACINE DEALERSHIP IN VERMONT. I HAVE HAD CONSTANT ISSUES FUELING THE VEHICLE. EITHER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF LIKE THE VEHICLE IS FULL WHEN IT IS EMPTY OR THE PUMP DOES NOT CLICK OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FULL. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS THE FIRST FUEL AFTER PURCHASE. THE PUMP CLICKED OFF IN THE BEGINNING OF THE FUELING PROCESS. I ATTEMPTED TO POSITION THE NOZZLE A LITTLE DIFFERENT AND RESTARTED TO FUEL. WHEN I DID THIS THE FUEL CAME BACK OUT AND COVERED MY SHOES AND PANTS WITH FUEL. I IMMEDIATELY LET THE SALES PERSON KNOW I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM THAT CONCERNED ME AND HE STATED TO TRY OTHER PUMPS. TRYING OTHER PUMPS DID NOT WORK. I BEGAN THE FUELING PROCESS AND THE PUMP DID NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FULL. IT RESULTED IN GAS SPLASHING ONTO MY FACE, EYES, BODY, AND FEET. IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE WAS DRENCHED IN FUEL. THE SERVICE STATION HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE PUMP AND CLEAN UP THE CHEMICAL SPILL. DEALERSHIP HAD THE JEEP 7 DAYS. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THEM AND ASKED THEM TO DO THE FIRST FILL AFTER THE FIX. THE VEHICLE AGAIN OVERFLOWED ALL OVER. IT CREATES STRONG FUMES FOR DAYS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT IS A MAJOR THREAT TO MY PERSONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH AS WELL AS TO OTHERS IF A FIRE STARTS.THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
A PART OF THE FUEL PICKUP TUBE WAS NOTED MISSING WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON JUNE 3,2016. I PAID FOR THE DEALER, WEST HERR DODGE IN ORCHARD PARK, NY TO ORDER THE PART THAT DAY. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE IF THE PART WAS IN, INCLUDING TODAY AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T. I WAS ALSO TOLD THERE ARE OVER 1700 OF THESE PARTS ON BACK ORDER , WHICH MAKES ME BELIEVE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FURTHER LOOKING INTO , ESPECIALLY AT A COST OF OVER $350.
ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2014, LESS THAN ONE WEEK AFTER TAKING DELIVERY OF THE CAR (IT WAS NEW),I WAS UNABLE TO PUMP GASOLINE INTO THE FUEL TANK. ATTEMPTS TO PUMP GAS DIRECTLY FROM PUMPS AT A COUPLE DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS (AND ONE TIME ATTEMPTING TO USE THE "FUNNEL" PROVIDED FOR FILLING FROM A GAS CAN) RESULTED IN THE FUEL FILLER NECK BACKING UP, DUMPING FUEL ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR AND MY HAND. MY CAR DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY INTEND TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.. THE AUTOMOBILE HAS A CAP-LESS GAS FILLER SYSTEM. THE CAR WAS DELIVERED NEW WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS SO IT APPEARS TO HAVE DEVELOPED THE PROBLEM AFTER DELIVERY. *TR
THE VEHICLE, A JEEP GC WITH V6 TURBO DIESEL, JUST DIED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND HAD TO BE TOWED. WE TRIED TO START IT ABOUT 10 TIMES OVER THE NEXT 36 HOURS WITHOUT SUCCESS. THEN IT DID START AND DROVE OK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN DIED IMMEDIATELY WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH. IT WAS TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. *TR
