NHTSA Campaign: 23V180000

Component: VISIBILITY/WIPER

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.

Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.

Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 Palisade vehicles. The brake booster diaphragm may become misaligned and cause an internal vacuum leak, which can result in a loss of power brake assist.

Risk: A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake booster as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 245.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Palisade Tucson, 2023 Sonata, Elantra, and Kona vehicles. The electronic controller for the Idle Stop & Go oil pump assembly may contain damaged electrical components that can cause the pump controller to overheat.

Risk: An electric oil pump assembly that overheats increases the risk of a vehicle fire.

Fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace the electric oil pump controller, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed starting September 7, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 246.

NHTSA Campaign: 25V607000

Component: SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.

Risk: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated June 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Your 2023 Palisade has two unresolved safety recalls affecting seatbelts in the front two rows and airbags in the third row. The seatbelt recall parts have been unavailable for nearly 6 months due to limited supply from Hyundai, and a second recall was issued on the same repair, halting fixes completely. The third row airbag defect has no parts, waitlist, or timeline available yet. With these safety systems affected, your family—including young children—currently has no fully safe seating in the vehicle. Resolving this will require Hyundai to supply and install replacement seatbelt assemblies and third row airbag modules once parts become available.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2023 Palisade is subject to an active safety recall (26V034) because the curtain airbags in the third row don't meet federal ejection protection standards. Hyundai has confirmed there is currently no available fix for this problem, and the dealership cannot perform any repair at this time. You're unable to safely transport your family, and Hyundai's only suggestion is to leave the vehicle at a dealership at your own expense with no loaner vehicle or timeline for when a solution might be available.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2023 Hyundai Palisade has two active safety recalls: the third-row side-curtain airbags may not deploy properly in a crash, and the second-row seat belt buckles may fail to latch correctly. You've experienced seat belts coming unbuckled while driving, which increases the risk of injury in an accident. Your dealership has offered to provide a loaner Santa Fe while repairs are made, but you're concerned about the timeline and safety of continuing to drive the vehicle. Resolving these issues will require the dealership to repair or replace the affected airbag and seat belt components.

Your seatbelts in the second row have unlatched unexpectedly while driving on 5 separate occasions, putting your children at risk. Your local dealership has had the replacement parts on back order since you purchased the car in September 2025. The fix will require your dealership to install replacement seatbelt hardware once the parts become available.

Your 2023 Palisade has a recalled seat belt issue (Recall #25V607000, issued September 2025), but the dealership told you they don't have the replacement parts in stock to fix it. Since your children use the backseat daily, this is a safety concern that needs to be addressed. Contact Hyundai customer service to find another authorized dealership with parts in stock, or ask about getting a loaner vehicle while waiting for parts to arrive.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your brakes stutter and lurch when braking over uneven pavement, even at low speeds, making it difficult to stop smoothly. This has happened multiple times at various speeds (5 mph to 35 mph), and in some cases you've nearly hit other vehicles or entered intersections when you couldn't stop in time. The problem started within the first few months of owning the car and continues despite reporting it to the dealership multiple times. This likely involves inspection and possible replacement of brake components that may be sensitive to uneven road surfaces.

Your steering wheel makes a clunking sound and locks up when turning at low speeds or when the engine restarts after idling, sometimes jerking hard enough to pull the wheel from your hands. The dealership replaced the coupler but the problem persists, and they haven't been able to reproduce the issue despite it happening multiple times daily. This creates a safety concern because you could lose steering control at traffic lights or during turns when accelerating.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2023 Palisade has two seatbelts that are randomly coming unbuckled while driving, which is a safety concern when transporting children. Hyundai has issued a recall to fix this problem, but the dealership is experiencing severe parts shortages—they're only receiving two replacement seatbelt buckles per week, making it difficult to schedule repairs. You'll need replacement seatbelt buckles installed, which requires ordering the recall parts from Hyundai and scheduling service once they become available.

Your car hesitates when accelerating at times. There's also no available fix for the third row seat belt safety issue. The dealership can't provide you with a loaner car while they wait for parts and service availability.
