Open Safety Recalls (5)
NHTSA Campaign: 22V353000
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022 Palisade vehicles. The instrument cluster assembly may have been manufactured with excessive adhesive, which can disable the instrument cluster display screen.
Risk: A disabled display screen will not show critical information, such as the meters, gauges, and warning lights, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the instrument cluster assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 230.
NHTSA Campaign: 22V633000
Component: TRAILER HITCHES
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling 2020-2022 Palisade vehicles potentially equipped with a tow hitch harness installed as original equipment, or purchased as an accessory through a Hyundai dealership. Debris and moisture accumulation on the tow hitch harness module printed circuit board (PCB) may cause an electrical short, which can result in a fire.
Risk: A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 235.
NHTSA Campaign: 23V180000
Component: VISIBILITY/WIPER
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.
Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V607000
Component: SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
Risk: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated June 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 13, 2025.
NHTSA Campaign: 26V034000
Component: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The side curtain air bags for third-row occupants may deploy improperly in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
Risk: Improper side curtain air bag deployment increases the risk of injury during a crash.
Fix: The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning March 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 292. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 24, 2026.
Owner-Reported Issues (20 of 252)
Seat Belts →3 issues
Your seatbelts have a latching mechanism that's failing — they're coming unbuckled on their own while you're driving, which is a serious safety concern for your children. Both rear seatbelts are part of a recall, but your dealership says they don't have the parts in stock and won't give you a timeline for repairs or a loaner vehicle. Getting the seatbelt assemblies replaced at a dealership is the fix, but you may need to contact Hyundai customer service directly if your dealer can't help.

Your seat belts—both the driver's front belt and rear passenger belts—are unexpectedly unlatching while you're driving or when the vehicle is parked. Hyundai has issued a recall (Campaign 25V607000) to address this issue, but the replacement parts are currently on nationwide backorder and unavailable. This is a safety concern that needs to be fixed as soon as parts become available, so you should contact your Hyundai dealer to get on the waiting list for the recall repair.

Your seatbelt is subject to Hyundai safety recall 283, and you've been trying to get it replaced since December, but your dealership says they don't have the parts in stock. You've called multiple times (1/7, 1/15, 1/19) and even contacted Hyundai directly for expedited service, but the issue still hasn't been resolved and you haven't been offered a loaner vehicle while waiting for repairs. The fix will require the dealership to obtain and install the recall seatbelt assembly once parts become available.

Visibility/wiper →2 issues
Your driver-side windshield wiper stopped working without warning while you were driving in snowy conditions, making it difficult to see the road and creating a safety concern for you and your passengers. There were no warning lights or unusual smells before it failed. The dealership has been notified and is scheduled to inspect the wiper system.

Your windshield wipers crossed over each other during a snowstorm and now your driver's side wipers don't work properly in heavy rain or snow. You believe this matches a known safety recall issue. When you contacted dealerships and Hyundai customer service for help, one dealership refused service and the other wanted to charge you for repairs instead of covering it under warranty or goodwill. The fix will likely involve replacing or realigning the wiper motor assembly and linkage.

Unknown Or Other →1 issue
You received a recall notice stating that your third-row seating may be unsafe for occupants. Hyundai hasn't yet provided a fix for this issue, which is concerning since you have young children who use that seating. Both the dealership and Hyundai corporate have been slow to address your concerns. The manufacturer will need to develop and provide a remedy for the third-row seat safety issue.

Engine →1 issue
Your 2022 Palisade caught fire while parked overnight without any warning lights appearing beforehand. The vehicle had been serviced at a dealer two weeks prior for a recall repair and oil change. The fire caused burns to your husband and damage to your home, and the vehicle was towed away without being diagnosed or repaired. A fix would require a thorough inspection by the manufacturer to identify what caused the fire and address the underlying engine or fuel system issue.

Service Brakes →1 issue
While parked, your car accelerated unexpectedly when you pressed the brake pedal, causing a collision with another vehicle. No warning lights appeared before the acceleration happened, and the airbags didn't deploy. The dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the issue, but the manufacturer opened a case to investigate.

Seat Belts, seats, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your children's rear seat belts are coming unbuckled repeatedly while driving, which you reported shortly after purchasing your vehicle but were initially told was not a problem. Hyundai later issued a recall for this exact defect, but when you scheduled repairs, the dealership said there would be a delay of several weeks and claimed you were the only person experiencing the issue—contradicting the existence of the recall. Additionally, there's now a separate recall for third-row passenger safety with no available fix, leaving your children without a safe seating option in your vehicle. Resolving this will likely require the dealership to inspect and repair or replace the rear seat belt mechanisms and potentially address third-row safety concerns under the recall program.

Power Train,electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your 2022 Palisade suddenly lost all engine power while driving at normal speed, with multiple warning lights appearing on the dashboard at once. The vehicle slowed down dramatically and became unsafe to drive, forcing you to pull over. After stopping, the engine would not restart and required a tow. This sudden power loss could pose a serious safety risk, especially if it happens on a highway.

Steering →1 issue
Your steering wheel suddenly locked up without warning while driving in a parking lot, making it impossible to turn the vehicle. Your son was able to stop safely, but this could have caused a crash if it happened at highway speeds. Hyundai replaced the motor position detection sensor (MPDS) and the engine control unit (ECU) to fix the issue.

Engine And Engine Cooling →1 issue
Your 2022 Palisade shudders and jerks while driving, with the check engine light flashing and an "Engine Overheating" message appearing on the dashboard. The engine was replaced by the dealer, and spark plugs were changed, but the jerking and overheating issues continue — the vehicle is now consuming coolant rapidly and feels like it might stall. The dealer was unable to service it further, and Hyundai is investigating the problem.

Steering,electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your SUV has shut down completely while driving on two separate occasions, losing all electrical power, steering assist, and engine function. The first incident occurred after you replaced the battery; the second happened after the dealer diagnosed a faulty alternator and battery. Both times you experienced warning lights, a dead radio, loss of power steering, and a completely black dashboard while on the highway — creating a dangerous situation with no emergency lighting to warn other traffic.

Air Bags,seat Belts →1 issue
You received recall notices for both the airbags and seat belts in your 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The seat belt recall letter indicates repairs won't be available until February 2026, which you feel is an unreasonably long wait. You haven't experienced any actual failures yet. The manufacturer will need to perform the recall repairs when parts and service become available.

Electrical System, structure, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car's child safety locks on the rear doors are failing frequently. You'll hear clicking sounds coming from the doors, and a warning message will appear on your dashboard indicating the child locks have malfunctioned. This is concerning since you have young children who rely on these locks for safety. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the child lock actuator mechanism and either replacing or repairing the faulty door lock components.

Power Train →1 issue
Your car's radiator failed and was replaced, but afterward the radiator hoses kept coming loose and needed to be retightened. The upper radiator hose was eventually replaced, yet you continue to experience coolant leaks every winter that require service visits. You've also experienced delays with Hyundai addressing recall issues and obtaining recalled parts.

Fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your fuel pump or fuel injector has failed, even though your car has less than 100,000 miles. This could cause your engine to run poorly, stall, or not start at all. You'll likely need to replace the fuel pump or fuel injectors to restore normal operation.

Engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your engine is stalling at every stop and requires restarting, accompanied by a pinging noise during acceleration. The dealership found your oil level dangerously low, causing misfiring, but your low oil warning light didn't activate. Despite having all maintenance records, your engine is burning approximately 0.75 to 0.9 quarts of oil every 1,000 miles—far more than normal—yet the dealership says this is within Hyundai's acceptable range. Fixing this issue will likely require diagnosing the cause of excessive oil consumption, which could involve inspecting piston rings, valve seals, or gaskets.
