NHTSA Campaign: 21V840000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021 Palisade vehicles. The brake fluid may be contaminated, which can cause the brake master cylinder inner-cup seals to swell, and reduce braking performance.
Risk: Reduced braking performance can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder, and flush the brake fluid, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 24, 2021. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 212.
NHTSA Campaign: 22V627000
Component: VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may become inoperative, causing the wipers to fail.
Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 13, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 233.
NHTSA Campaign: 22V633000
Component: TRAILER HITCHES
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling 2020-2022 Palisade vehicles potentially equipped with a tow hitch harness installed as original equipment, or purchased as an accessory through a Hyundai dealership. Debris and moisture accumulation on the tow hitch harness module printed circuit board (PCB) may cause an electrical short, which can result in a fire.
Risk: A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 235.
NHTSA Campaign: 23V180000
Component: VISIBILITY/WIPER
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.
Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V607000
Component: SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
Risk: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated June 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 13, 2025.
NHTSA Campaign: 26V034000
Component: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The side curtain air bags for third-row occupants may deploy improperly in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
Risk: Improper side curtain air bag deployment increases the risk of injury during a crash.
Fix: The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning March 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 292. While driving at 60 mph, the moving glass panel of your panoramic sunroof suddenly exploded outward with a loud noise. This could have injured you, caused an accident, or damaged other vehicles. The dealership inspected the vehicle but declined to take responsibility for the failure. The fix will likely involve replacing the sunroof glass panel and investigating what caused it to fail.

Your transmission is jerking and hesitating between 1,500–2,000 RPM during normal driving, causing sudden power loss that makes acceleration unpredictable and dangerous in traffic or when merging. The problem happens regularly and is getting worse over time, with dealership diagnostics confirming abnormal transmission speed readings. The issue creates a serious safety risk because your vehicle may not respond properly when you need to accelerate. Your transmission may need internal repairs or replacement to restore proper gear engagement and shift quality.

Electrical System →2 issues
While driving at 40 MPH on three separate occasions, your power steering stopped working and multiple warning lights appeared on your dashboard. Your headlights and turn signals also stopped functioning, and when you shifted into reverse, your backup camera didn't work. This suggests a serious electrical system failure that affected multiple vehicle systems simultaneously. A full electrical system diagnostic and possible replacement of the battery, alternator, or main electrical control modules may be needed to restore all functions.

Your third-row passenger seat may unexpectedly open and close when the seat adjustment button is pressed, potentially pinning a child or passenger. In this case, a child's leg became trapped between the folded and upright third-row seats, causing swelling and redness. The seat button failed to respond when pressed multiple times to open the seat and release the child. Hyundai has confirmed they haven't yet developed a fix, which may involve redesigning the seat locking mechanism or button control system.

Seat Belts →2 issues
Recall for safety seat belts not repaired in a timely manner. It’s been 2.5 months, I called the first time after one month to see how much longer for the parts to come in and was basically told it is what it is, most people wait over 2 months, that was in January. It is now March and still no repairs done.

Electrical System,engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your engine is making rattling sounds and losing power while driving, sometimes shutting off completely without any dashboard warning lights to alert you beforehand. The first incident occurred after an oil change when the oil level dropped below a quart, but subsequent incidents happened even with a full oil level, suggesting a different underlying problem. The dealership hasn't been able to identify or fix the issue because it occurs intermittently and can't be reproduced during service visits.

Air Bags,seat Belts →1 issue
Your seat belts became completely inoperable while driving and wouldn't detach properly. Your vehicle is subject to two active recalls (25V607000 for seat belts and 26V034000 for air bags), but the dealer couldn't repair them because the replacement parts are on back order. Your manufacturer has been notified and a case is open, but the repair delay has exceeded a reasonable timeframe.

Electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your vehicle started on its own while parked in your garage with the engine off and keys nearby but not in use. The engine was idling at an extremely high RPM while all dashboard displays were completely dark. You retrieved the keys and started the car normally, which brought the RPM down to standard idle. This poses a serious carbon monoxide hazard in an enclosed garage. The fix will likely require diagnostic testing of the engine control module and electrical system to determine why the vehicle self-started.

Engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your car shakes while driving, especially on the freeway, and won't accelerate past a certain speed. You're also noticing poor fuel economy, and the check engine light is on. This shaking could be dangerous when you're trying to slow down in traffic. A mechanic will need to scan your engine codes and likely inspect the fuel system, ignition components, or engine sensors to identify the cause.

Visibility/wiper →1 issue
Your windshield developed a large crack that started from the bottom near the driver's side and extended upward about 12 inches, even though nothing hit it and the car was just sitting in the garage at around 40 degrees. This happened after the car had been parked for 4 days without being driven. The windshield will need to be replaced.
