You used your heater and defroster to clear snow from your windshield, and later discovered a crack along the bottom of the windshield. You're not sure if the defroster caused the crack or if it happened another way, and the vehicle hasn't been inspected yet to confirm the cause. The fix will likely involve windshield replacement or repair depending on the crack's severity and location.

Your back-up camera sometimes shows a washed-out, unclear view of what's behind your vehicle, especially in daylight conditions. The dealer confirmed this is a design issue with the camera itself, not a malfunction. The camera may need to be replaced with a higher-quality unit or upgraded to a digital system.

Your gas pedal became stuck and wouldn't release, preventing you from stopping the vehicle, which resulted in a collision with another vehicle. This is a serious safety issue that needs immediate investigation of the accelerator system and throttle components.

NHTSA #: 11726064

CrashFiled: Mar 2024

Your accelerator pedal is responding slowly when you release it, causing it to stay engaged longer than expected. This delayed response caused your car to collide with a tree while parking, and you've also noticed the car accelerating on its own at low speeds below 20 mph. The issue will likely require inspection and repair of the accelerator pedal assembly and throttle control system.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2023 Dodge Charger may display a "Service Shifter" message intermittently, and in some cases the engine has shut off while driving at highway speeds. You might also experience the gear shifter flashing red and white lights, difficulty starting the vehicle, or battery failure. The dealer confirmed this is a known issue but has not yet diagnosed or repaired it, so you'll likely need the shifter assembly and related electrical components inspected and replaced.

Filed: Jan 2025

Your engine is unexpectedly revving to 1,500 RPMs when you brake at low speeds (20-30 MPH), and your hill assist system is causing the rear wheels to lock up, making your car lurch forward dangerously. This has happened multiple times, including while stopped, and the problem continues even after the dealer performed a software update and vehicle relearning. The issue may involve faulty sensors or software controlling your engine idle and braking systems that need diagnosis and repair.

Electrical System2 issues
highELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Filed: Jan 2026

Your car is experiencing ongoing electrical problems with the infotainment system, which repeatedly downloads files and displays fatal error messages that can't be fixed. There are also issues with the telematics system and the vehicle's communication network (CAN bus), and even after two engineers inspected your car, the problems remain unresolved. Additionally, your headlamps are receiving abnormally high voltage that exceeds safe levels. Fixing this will likely require comprehensive electrical diagnostics, software updates, and possibly replacement of the infotainment control module or voltage regulators.

Your car stalled unexpectedly while driving without any warning lights appearing on the dashboard. After you restarted it and took it to the dealer, they found that the wiring harness had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealership identified the problem but hasn't completed the repair yet, and Dodge is investigating the issue.

Filed: Feb 2025

Your transmission slips when you shift from reverse to drive, causing a 2-3 second delay before it actually engages. The service manager said this is due to fluid friction and that Dodge is aware of the issue but hasn't issued a recall because they don't know the root cause. The fix will likely involve a transmission fluid service, fluid replacement, or internal transmission inspection once Dodge identifies and addresses the problem.

Filed: Dec 2024

Your new 2023 Dodge Charger Scatpack 392 has a noticeable delay of 3-4 seconds when shifting from Reverse to Drive, followed by a hard thump felt throughout the car. The dealership performed a transmission re-tune, but the problem persists. The service manager says Dodge is aware this is happening on other vehicles and claims it's due to fluid friction and normal operation, though you believe this delay poses a safety risk when backing into traffic. The fix will likely involve further transmission servicing, software updates, or possible fluid replacement to address the delayed engagement.

criticalSTEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Feb 2026

While driving, your car suddenly lost power steering and brake function for 15-20 seconds, accompanied by multiple warning lights (ABS, power steering, traction control, and electrical control messages). This happened three separate times, and during one incident your dashboard went completely black, the heat turned on involuntarily, and the windows wouldn't operate. The loss of braking and steering ability created a dangerous driving situation. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the electrical system and potentially replacing the power steering control module, brake system components, or related electrical connectors.

criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE
Filed: Jul 2025

Your 2023 Dodge Charger has experienced multiple engine shutdowns while driving due to high-voltage electrical faults in the CAN bus system, likely related to the telematics unit. You're also experiencing severe fuel economy loss (around 10 MPG instead of normal), and the dealership has advised against driving the vehicle due to safety concerns but has refused to perform repairs. The problem has persisted for nearly a year without resolution despite multiple service attempts.

Air Bags1 issue
criticalAIR BAGS
CrashFiled: Aug 2024

Your airbag failed to deploy when your car was involved in a crash at 75 mph. This is a serious safety issue since airbags are designed to protect you and your passengers during collisions. The airbag system will need to be inspected and repaired by a technician.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your engine's MDS (cylinder deactivation) lifters are failing, causing noise. The needle bearings inside these lifters appear to break down when exposed to high pressure while the engine is cold. This same problem has already been repaired twice, but it's happening again. The repair will likely involve replacing the lifters and possibly upgrading to a higher-volume oil pump to improve lubrication.

When you tried to slow down, your brake pedal vibrated abnormally even though you only lightly pressed it. The dealer found that your front brake pads and rotors on both sides had failed at 21,000 miles. After the dealer replaced them, the problem was resolved, though no warning lights had appeared before this happened.

Filed: Jul 2025

Your steering wheel became stiff while driving, and you discovered severe corrosion on the front suspension bolts underneath the vehicle. Later, the rear passenger tire was punctured by an unknown object, and inspection revealed all four tires had abnormal wear and tear. Dealers determined the vehicle was performing as designed and did not make repairs. Addressing this issue may involve cleaning or replacing corroded suspension bolts and inspecting the tire alignment and suspension geometry to prevent future premature tire wear.

highPOWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
Filed: Jun 2025

Your vehicle has had persistent electrical error codes since purchase affecting the headlights, communication system (CAN bus), engine control module, and infotainment display, which shows a fatal error. Despite multiple dealership visits and warranty coverage, the dealership has refused to repair these issues, and your vehicle's software is outdated (stage 24 instead of 39) with no one able to update it. You're concerned about potential high-voltage and communication system failures related to these codes. The fix will likely require a complete electrical system diagnostic, software reprogramming to the latest version, and possible replacement of the engine control module or related communication components.

highSTEERING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Mar 2025

Your car's odometer and speedometer kept switching between kilometers per hour and miles per hour while you were driving, which distracted you and contributed to a speeding ticket. You discovered that pressing the left arrow and OK button on the steering wheel can accidentally toggle between these units, causing confusion about your actual speed. The fix would likely involve a software update to the dashboard display system or adding a confirmation step when changing measurement units.

Filed: Apr 2024

Your car's forward collision warning system is triggering false alarms even when there's no actual hazard ahead, forcing you to lower the sensitivity setting to reduce annoyance. You're also experiencing a noticeable delay when downshifting using the paddle shifters in manual mode, and your dashboard radio is automatically seeking to lower stations without you touching any controls.
