ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Jeep Cherokee vehicles manufactured October 1, 2014, to June 18, 2015. The affected vehicles may have a misrouted air conditioning suction/discharge hose.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the routing of the air conditioning hose. Any hose that is misrouted will be replaced and installed correctly. This work will be performed free of charge. The recall began on November 23, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R57.

This jeep has 90k miles on it. We noticed a very severe oil leak and discovered that oil was leaking out of the engine oil cooler filter housing adapter. After doing some research it was discovered that this is a very common part to malfunction.

The oil filter housing is made of plastic, causing it to easily break most likely due to overtightening when getting an oil change, then this causes oil to leak onto the exhaust pipe being a potential fire hazard, since most people go get their oil changed at a business not themselves you wouldn't know until it is too late and nobody will accept fault, jeep needs to recall and make this housing out of metal to prevent this issue.

On june 24, 2019 my 2015 jeep trailhawk lost power was after it was driven for 30 mins and parked for 30 mins in the morning. The battery and transmission warning lights were on. We replaced the battery and the transmission light remained on.

Air conditioning suction/discharge hose split and blew off the engine causing loss of air conditioning cooling while in motion on the highway. Recall #r57 clearly shows a recall for this hose being placed too close to the manifold and posing a fire risk or air conditioning loss or warning light.

Dealer diagnosed an oil leak from the vehicle oil filter housing, which is located on top of the engine, during a routine oil change. The oil appears to be leaking from a gasket at the base of the housing or the housing is cracked. Oil pools in a valley, on top of the hot engine, while running, presenting a fire hazard.

Rocker bearings failed in the rear of the head. This impacted the right side intake camshaft. They replaced the rear intake and rear camshaft, rear and front rockers and also valve cover gaskets and upper intake seals. The only indication of a problem was a tapping sound coming from the engine. No warning lights on the console. If this had gone UN repaired the engine could have seized at any time while traveling causing an accident. The repair technician indicated that the new parts would not fail the way the original equipment failed. Chrysler has refused to pay for the repair.
