2015 Jeep Cherokee Electrical Problems

After learning of the recall for the lift gate module because of water intrusions of multiple points. The wiring harness to the lift gate module was serverly corroded and had to be replaced. The original fix, without the corrosion on the harness, was the place a piece of plastic over the module.

Check engine light on 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport turned on, vehicle "went limp". Pulled over, turned car off, waited, turned car back on. Happened again taking car to dealership.

Ptu went out they replaced it it was still not working and they said oh well now ptu is still out and it rolls in park won’t shift when pulling out and is very scary to have my kids in this death trap

It was recalled before for water getting into the trunk causing electrical issues(even fires). I brought it to a dealership to have it fixed, water is still getting into my vehicle. Dealership said there is nothing we can do since the recall is gone.

Jeep has never been in accident properly and regularly maintained when driving on freeway all of the sudden out of nowhere service airbag system and service park brake pop up I was fearful for my life when getting home not knowing if airbags will work heaven forbid I get in car accident or car may roll over onto street because park brake is not working I went to dealership and asked what's wrong with viechole did manufacturer put in faulty airbags or installed broken brake they refused to tell me what the issue is unless I pay them over $500 just to know what's wrong with car I told them car was never in accident properly maintenanced the problem has to be with manufacturer they said unless I pay $500 they will not tell me what's wrong with the jeep please investigate jeep for failed car parts.

The Electronic Parking Brake has malfunctioned because water has leaked into the liftgate. Jeep is replacing the power liftgate module because if water leaks into the car, this could cause a fire if the water reaches the module. Water is in my car and has destroyed the e-brake system causing it to go on and off unexpectedly and now I can't drive the car.

We own and lease mostly Chrysler /Jeep products in our family. We currently have a Wrangler, Pacifica, Jeep Cherokee. Our 2015 Jeep Cherokee has shut down completely while driving 4 times.

Stellaris (Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep) issued an urgent recall for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk in May, 2023, related to the electric liftgate (recall 49A), notifying me that I should not park my vehicle indoors, as it can spontaneously catch fire. I can neither park in my garage at home (which violates my HOA terms) nor at work (which is underground) and be in compliance with the recall.

I have a recall for the electrical system due to a possibility of fire with or without the ignition on. I've called several dealerships to get this taken care of only to be told there is not a solution yet, that their waiting lists are backed up, that they can't help me, etc., and I cannot get in touch with the manufacturer.

Vehicle recall has not been resolved in a timely manner. Liftgate does not open, preventing access to spare tire in case of emergency. Also poses a fire risk.

Emergency parking brake would automatically engage. Service parking brake message on dash. Could not flat tow vehicle due to this problem.

No incident but ridiculous that Jeep/Mopar cannot find a remedy for this URGENT Fire risk after 3 years - it's time to fix this so the vehicles can be parked safely in doors - or not at risk when person is driving car.

When it rains water leaks into my cargo area filling up my spare tire well. it also soakes the insulation in the sides of vehicle. It has cause a short in the rear ligts on vehicle which I am not sure but could cause a fire or electrical failure.

Jeep/Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis has known about an electrical problem with the tailgate lift for years. I now have received Recall 49A requesting me "...to not park these vehicles inside of buildings or structures..." because of fire potential. I have been to my local Jeep dealer - no help!

On August 11th, 2023, at approximately 12:50 pm, I drove my 2015 Jeep Cherokee into my houses’ garage and parked. I went inside my house to meet an air conditioning repairman. No sooner than a minute or two had passed that I immediately heard noises coming from my garage.The noises sounded like mechanical in nature.

Lift gate fire hazard recall. Cannot park near cars or in the garage

Got a recall letter about an electrical shortage May 11.Called the dealer and customer care, both told me that there was nothing they can do about recall as there is no solution; however, my recall cause a serious safety issue as it can start a fire with ignition on or off.

this has been going on for almost two months and there is no solution?! I have a 2 year old that sits in my back seat and you think I can have her in the vehicle when the back of my car could start fire at any time next to the freaking gas tank?!?!?!?! Take this vehicle back!!!!!!!

2015 Jeep Latitude caught fire in the middle of the night on 03/29/2023 (6 weeks before Jeep's latest recall) with the ignition off, parked in my driveway - no one in it and the ignition had been off for over 3 hours. Fire started under the driver's side tail light INSIDE the framework of the Jeep with the electrical wiring.

Vehicle was parked at 10pm. Vehicle ignition was off. Vehicle was locked.

Looked into the spare tire compartment and found standing water in the compartment and in one of the side trays. No evidence of water anywhere else. Tire dealer took the compartment a part and could not find evidence of leaking anywhere else.

When I go to pull out of a street The car just stop. I have my feet on the gas but it will not move, once I am in the street and also while in traffic it will not move even when foot on the gas I tried to explain to them at the car dealer where I took it.

Four times within the past two weeks the vehicle has shut off. Twice while turning into a busy intersection and twice while driving down the road. The vehicle instantly stalls and entire dashboard warning lights come on.

I was driving down the freeway when another driver alerted me there was a small fire coming from under my car. I pulled over into an empty lot and when I looked under the car I saw flames from under the vehicle. I stepped back and within minutes the entire front engine was consumed with flames.

My automatic rear hatch stopped working after a small amount of water from a cooler leaked in my "trunk". I checked the fuse for the hatch and it blew, I swapped it out and smoke began to pour from the rear of my jeep (the trunk) then a fire erupted, severely damaging my cherokee.

Went to start car wouldn't start or turn over. Received jump from roadside assistance and waited 20 min before attempting to drive to the nearest auto zone (2 miles). Once I started driving the dashboard lights started flickering and as soon as I came to a red light at a very busy 3 lane intersection I was in the middle lane and my car shut off & wouldn't turn back on.

NEITHER THE DRIVER, PASSENGER OR SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I SURVIVED BUT HAD TWO BREAKS IN THE STERNAL CHEST PLATE, A FRACTURED RIGHT RIB AND BROKEN LEFT WRIST REQUIRING SURGERY RESULTING IN SCREWS AND PLATES INSTALLED. MEDICAL BILLS OVER $80K I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT THE ENTIRE TIME. THAT DAY THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND APPROX 40-45 DEGREES. THROUGH THE DEALER, I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURERS CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH DIRECTED ME TO THEIR FORENSIC TEAM SO THEY COULD OBTAIN THE BLACK BOX IN THE VEHICLE AND ACCESS TO THE CAR. I HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS REGARDING NOT ONLY MY SAFETY BUT OTHERS THAT OWN THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. I AM 73 YEARS OLD AND EVERYONE FROM THE AMBULANCE DRIVER TO THE STATE TROOPER THAT WAS ON THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT SAID THAT I HAVE A LAWSUIT HERE. I DO NOT WANT TO FILE SUIT. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR THE INCLINATION TO GO THAT DIRECTION BUT I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER OWES ME AND THE OTHER CUSTOMERS SOMETHING SHOULD THEY FIND THEMSELVES IN MY POSITION. The rear power lift gate will no latch to the locked position and it will not lift. 2016 I had the fca recall r67 repaired. June 1, 2017 I experienced my first issue with the power lift gate and the dealership cleaned g907 ground strap.

Takata recall I was driving straight about 50mph on a city street and my back windshield exploded. My rear defrost was on.the holes were directly where the defrost cords were. The cords were sticking out and the glass was gone on those two spots.

I have had all kinds of electrical issues with my 2015 cherokee trailhawk 4x4 and this all happened after they did 4 upgrades on my computer at dealership, when picked up SUV the check engine was on, took back to dealer and they said they flashed it what ever that means.

The vehicle stop/start feature activates on the highway when in traffic congestion when I come to a complete stop, at a stop sign, or at a red light; periodically, the emergency brake is also activated and does not allow me to turn it off and proceed unless I remove the ignition key, insert it, and then restart the car.

I went out to start my car at around 8:40am on may 28. When I pushed the button to start it, I heard a pop followed by smoke. I thought maybe something was under the car so I backed up the car approximately 2 feet and then turned it off.

When I took vehicle home I realized that the forward collision warning system was not engaging ie: no audible and no visual alerts so I took it back to the dealer. Electronic emergency brake locked up while reversing, just went on by itself, unable to move car and I couldn’t get it off or get in a gear to move the car at all I had myself and my grandbaby in the car at the time Now the odometer is flashing and the “A” button that would shut engine off at a light, but no warning lights before this incident - a message is showing now “Service emergency brake” along with the icons that go with the emergency brake I called Dodge Service center from my car, no help, just suggested it be towed in -they said never heard of it doing that, has to be looked at Been searching this problem seems I’m not the only one this has happened to

UNKNOWN I had to jump my vehicle due to battery dying out. Once jumped, I received a warning that my electrical emergency park brake malfunctioned. I had trouble shifting gears if I could get them to shift at all.

Upon placing vehicle into park, the parking brake independently engaged and would not release. Car was not able to move. Brake calipers were locked into position.

I am not completely certain which of the above selected items is the cause of my vehicle malady, though I have been instructed by a mechanic that it could be the drive train maybe (I could be misremembering). At any rate, the vehicle stalls at random intervals, without advance notification of a problem.

The parking brake module failed. It caused the vehicle to violently be slammed into a stop by the electronic parking brakes engaging on their own. This primarily happened anytime the vehicle was put into park, or came to a complete stop.

I open the car with key fob and vehicle dash lights up when I go to start vehicle everything goes black and vehicle will not start. The battery in vehicle has been checked and in good condition I replaced key fob battery still does not work. This has happened a couple times and then vehicle will magically start.

Car stalls multiple times over the last month. With zero warning it died in front of my wife in ongoing traffic. Multiple error messages are on dash.

In the last 3 weeks I start my 2015 jeep cherokee as usual, shortly after driving when trying to accelerate from a stop the battery light comes on and the dash says cannot switch gears unless in park. My vehicle - at random - will switch to traction control, 4x4, and will slow down while driving, and will not allow me to go above 45 mph, with the engine rpm’s revved as high as if I’m driving 85 mph. No mechanic has been able to accurately diagnose it, and I continue to pay for different repairs, without getting the problem actually solved.

After driving a vehicle for a few minutes the lights will flash pretty badly, the service transmission light comes on, on the dash and the car enters limp mode, and the fan comes on, you are unable to move the vehicle it will not go forward or backwards. The vehicle runs perfectly smooth until this happens without warning. Additionally, the service air bag light came on, on the dash but if you turn the car off and back on the lights will go away and you can resume activity as usual. The cars lights and horn goes crazy even when you are not in the vehicle or driving it and does not have to be on when it does this. Now the vehicle has a service engine light on and diagnostics have been done and one part has been changed but this did not resolve the issue which was a purge solenoid and the oil filter housing which also did not resolve the issue. This vehicle is very dangerous to drive as it will go into limp mode while driving it.

My parking brake turned on by itself when I started my 2015 Jeep Cherokee and would not turn off. The parking brake light also came on. It is available for inspection.

My 2015 Jeep Cherokee started having strange electrical issues. Sometimes the automatic lift gate would not open or close. Sometimes the parking brake would engage and not release.

Service Shifter Error comes on and off consistently -- dealer said that this error is known and common and has been going on for many many years. There is no "fix" to the problem and replacing the entire console is the only way to try to remediate the problem but this often does not work. It is incredibly expensive to concerning.
