While driving on a freeway in november 2020 I had engaged the cruise control and set it at the speed limit of 70 MPH. A semi truck changed into my lane without blinker warning. I slammed on the brakes but the cruse control would not disengage.

I need to file a complaint against jeep. The transmission in my 2015 cherokee is awful and a safety concern. The vehicle jerks around so much when I'm driving it, I'm concerned it's eventually going to cause an accident.

Cruise control failed to regulate speeds on interstate - accelerated at speeds in excess of set speed by 10-14 miles per hour. Very dangerous accelerating to the point possible collision with vehicle ahead on roadway. Set speed of 72 went up to 84-89 miles per hour on slight downhill.

Car does not accelerate when pushing on gas, gets stuck in gear and then when it finally fins the right gear the whole vehicle bucks. Reported the problem in january, was told to wait for the recall update, which didn't happen until june. Have brought the vehicle in 2 more times for the same problem.

Two incidents jeep cherokee was on automatic cruise control come to almost stop when front car took a right turn and this caused almost rear collision. I was like 30 feet away from the front car. Another incident: there was nobody around me and car applied brakes by itself and causes almost panic among the family members in the car and reduced the speed to 45mph.

Cpsc: I purchased a pedal commander product september 21, 2018 to assist my 2015 jeep's acceleration. The module is a pass through electronic device that is installed between the accelerator pedal. The device failed while driving the vehicle in eco/city mode.

Most recent incident: 5/25/16, en route home from work, northern state parkway. Vehicle accelerated, while moving with traffic with three car lengths between myself and car in front of me from 35mph to 60mph. I almost rear-ended the vehicle in front of me.

Less than 90 days after buying a new jeep cherokee I watched it towed away b/c it was un-driveable. It began in the morning when the gears were not shifting appropriately. Then a few hours later, the engine would rev, and car would speed up, even though I wasn't pushing gas pedal.

Hello my jeep got a message of service 4 wheel drive so i brought it to the dealership. the looked at it and it turns out to be a failing PTU. Jeep did a recall and extended warranty on it but they are saying they will not cover the cost of the repair because its the wrong code. I have code C14A797 and they are saying they need code P14A797. This doesnt even make sense its the same exact faulty part but different codes??? Codes they the car company creates?

When I go to put the the vehicle in park and reverse it wants to shift really hard, not really a shift but more of a jerk. It doesn’t happen every time but it does 50 percent of the time. There was this one time where I went to go put it in reverse and it wanted to rev more then usual.

I was at a very busy intersection getting ready to turn left and when the light turned green the auto start cautious symbol showed up on the dash and the all the lights came on right before my car completely shut off. I had to put on my hazards because I was afraid of getting hit. Put the jeep into park and restarted the vehicle.

Sometimes when cruise control is set vehicle will accelerate up to 10 MPH faster then set speed. This occurs even when driving on a flat level road no hills.has also revved rpms up to 5 and slowly decelerates on own.

Vehicle has extreme hesitation when accelerating from anything than a complete stop to the point in may stand you in between lanes of oncoming traffic, when the transmission shifts it will do so violently causing tire spin and loss of traction/control. Use extreme caution when driving. Jeep has been unresponsive to even admitting this is an issue.

Cruise control will be set and either be going 5mph+ faster than what it's set at, or not shut off when turned off . Also, consistently having 'service shifter' come on , and the shifter will stop working and lock in the gear it's in or lock when put in park and not shift to another gear.

Driving on the highway, my vehicle transmission unexpectedly shifts to neutral, and it shows on my board as " service transmission". It can not speed up suddenly. Then it will go back to normal after I parked and drive.

When driving the car between 22-25 MPH highway or street there is always a lunging/RPM spike/hard shift that accelerates the car when slowing down. This also happens at 8, 30,35,40,45,50,55mph. It is not nearly as bad as the major issue between 22-25mph.

I was traveling on a main highway at 62 MPH. Suddenly the car lurched and the RPM's shot up to 4000. The car was immediately going 70 MPH.

With the cruse control on and set at 60mpg when going down a hill it picks up speed to over 70mph. Going up hill it varies as much as 4mph. The cruse control does not control the speed as it should, very dangerous!

I was turning into my driveway and slowed down before hitting the slope, when I pressed the gas pedal to go up the driveway the engine revved up but the car didn't accelerate.
