2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Other Problems

While driving the vehicle the passenger side of my rear window shattered due to the rear defroster circuit overheating. I brought the vehicle into my local Chevrolet Cerified dealership to examine - they stated that my VIN number is not included in the wide spread recall affecting over 150k vehicles having the same exact issue.

Rear driver side window panel cracked due to cold weather no incident or accident occurred. It just cracked and needs to be replaced. This to me is unusual for tempered glass.

I went to my truck after an 8 hour shift at work, simply opened my door got into my truck and when I shut the door, my back window literally exploded into a thousand pieces. I am in no way joking at all, I shut my door and the back window busted into thousands of pieces. I was and still am shocked.

2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 6-speed 6L80 had a torque converter failure and the transmission had metal debris. The vehicle would jerk or hard shift on acceleration while on the highway. When stopped at a light the truck RPMs would increase and then hesitate, jerk, and then move.

After starting my truck, my kids and I entered a few minutes later, we smelled a faint burning smell but seemed to have faded. driving 50yards away from my home, my rear window (glass on side of sliding window) randomly made the spider web/Crack effect all over the glass and had started crumbling off.

My factory installed sunroof exploded for no adverse reason on 03/17/2021 at 1440hrs. This occurred while driving at highway speeds with the sunroof in the tilt open position and the passenger window opened slightly. No injuries resulted in this incident .

The vehicle throws the check engine light randomly (avg once every 2 months). It occurs around 65 MPH (interstate) which, leads me to believe it is a misfire on one of the cylinders. I have had it to the dealership and a diagnostic complete.

The truck glitches turns off in the middle of driving on the freeway or turning somewhere it will turn off the steering wheel gets hard and everything turns off for 3 seconds and goes back on. I have taken it in and reported this more than once and if I get in a car accident because of this I am sueing this company!

This vehicle, like many others of this same design, has had a vibration at highway speeds since the vehicle was purchase on 9-14-2017. It has been addressed by the dealer four times with the tires being the presumed issue.

Sunroof self exploded

Dash cracking in pieces could cause pieces of plastic shards to become airborne when air bag is deployed causing injury and possible eye damage. The vehicle was stationary when I heard it pop after turning on defroster. It appears to be a common problem in chevrolet / gm vehicles spanning many years.

My vehicle is a pickup with the z71 off road package. I use it working on farm and pasture land which requires me to drive off road in tall grass and brush at times. I noticed, and it was called to attention, that grass and brush was collecting around the rear axle, drive line and exhaust system.

I have been driving a 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500 z71 pick-up truck since february 2017. Since nearly day one, the vehicle has experienced vibration and wobble like shaking noticeable at normal highway speeds, becoming more noticeable above 60 MPH. Automatic transmission causing hesitation or stalling feeling when pulling into traffic. Also, now getting a shudder or vibration at variable speeds from 25 to 75 MPH. Called dealer, known common problem with GM 8-speed transmission.

My brakes failed to stop my vehicle at slow speeds and while I was at a decline and almost caused me to rear end another vehicle. The brake pedal got extremely hard and would not allow me to press down on it.

My truck shut off, while driving on the highway and would not restart. This happened two times within three weeks. I hade to have the truck towed both times.

We bought this truck in 2020 with only in two years had to have the transmission rebuilt within warranty 2 1/2 years later after rebuilding the transmission with the dealer warranty, the transmission gives out again same problems as before now the warranty expired and we have to pay out of pocket to have the transmission replaced as no one is reaponxible for repairs.

The lock actuators on the truck have failed multiple times on each door. The rear locks have failed again. I have replaced them numerous times.

This 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT L5P is showing limited distance with an error message of "DEF FLUID EMPTY" when it is not. There are no codes for DEF (the only codes are showing glow plugs, NOX1, and the Body Control Module). The truck will permit REGEN but not DEF fluid quality or pressure tests.

AC condenser leak, no cold air blowing. Only 82,539 miles. I took my truck to Chevy and was told about the issue and the cost amount to replace.

Radiator leak, coolant fully drained out, truck overheated. Approximately 86,000 + miles. I recently replaced the AC condenser back in [XXX].

Service stability track light come on and off check engine light does not come on so you can’t pull the code to see what’s wrong cause the vehicle to cut off while driving upon looking this problem up a lot of people are having this problem the dealership told me it’s no way to pin point the problem unless the check engine light come on it’s very unsafe cause this makes the cars cut on and off while driving

When towing RV the warning indicator “check trailer wiring” continually pops up and chimes and the trailer breaks continuously malfunction. This causes imminent danger to our family and others on the road as the trailer breaks malfunction and the continual chiming and warning lights take focus off the road.

AC condenser failed at 51000 miles due to poor weld! "this is a well known issue for gm 2015-2017 models". There has been a special coverage adjustment #17336-04 issued by gm for escalade,suburban,tahoe and yukon models but not for trucks.

Very upset the paint on hood and top coming off . Went back to my local dealer and complained about it but they are not doing any thing about it . I paid a lot of money for this truck and only has 23,000 miles it should be covered under warranty !

My AC quit working from one day to the next! No warning no noise just started blowing hot air. It worked on my way home from work and the next morning would not cool off at all

Popping noise coming from rear of truck. Truck has slack in rear axcel causing popping noise

Purchased 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500 11/2017. 04/2017, no cold air blowing from the AC. Took it to dealership thinking only need a recharge since this vehicle is fairly new.

This the third time that the door latch is not working on different doors not just in one 3-4 months ago they replaced one of the latch the passenger rear door, know I have the driver side and rear drive side

Transmission problem I have chevy silverado crew cab 1500 lt with e assist package I got problem with transmission and any time I stop by traffic light ,stop sign or stock in traffic my car get auto off by completing stop and then when I start driving my car my transmission is kicking most of the time and my family or anybody inside my car by that time they complain because it's really bad for everybody neck that suddenly shake.

There's a box under the steering column that can vibrate loose and fall by your feet while driving. It falls right beside the brake and makes it difficult to safely brake without it swinging around. It can be replaced but is capable of vibrating loose over and over.

Transmission jerks,surges ahead,clunks when downshifting and is completely unpredictable.

Radio randomly turns volume to maximum level and doesn’t allow you to reduce it. I can only fix it by turning truck off then on again.

Stabilitrak notification came on and truck shut off. Took vehicle to O’Reillys to see what was wrong. Test machine was not picking anything up.

My truck shuts off on its on ,steering wheel locks and truck shuts off . Very scary while on the road .

While driving, the touch screen “touches itself” changing settings, making and ending calls, turning off by itself, dimming and brightening the screen while driving.

The service trailer brake system warning went off on a return trip from Minnesota August 18. It chimed incessantly- probably every 5-8 seconds while driving. It was a huge distraction.

Hi, My company purchased this truck brand new. Since the 1st I time drove it I realized that I can easily smell the pollution on the out side, inside the truck. Even with windows up and Air Condition on cabin air recirculate mode.

Child lock feature for back door won't shut off and lock will not work! This happens when car is on or off in park.

Drove my truck and turned the air conditioning on and it blows out warm air. Did not have any issues with the AC until today (4-18-2020). I looked online and it seems there are multiple complaints about the condenser malfunctioning.

Driving on the interstate seems to be only above 70mph or more the truck vibrates very bad in the seats, floor, armrest.. 70mph and less I feel nothing and rides smooth.. At 80mph it literally feels like your gonna lose control..

I have had two sets of continental tires put on my truck and the tread keeps peeling off of them I contacted continental and they're not wanting to replace them unless I pay a prorated fee and I shouldn't have two of the manufacturer's defect I've had these problems with these tires for a long time now the first set of tires failed at 12500 miles and a second set that spelled at 10,000 miles dot number is a32awd40 p 275 /55 r 20 crosscontact lx 20 1111t

The fuel pedal flexes when accelerating. Its mounted by plastic and it moves while the pedal is depressed.

Vehicle radio display is too bright. Using the dimmer does still leaves the radio the brightest display inside the passenger compartment blinding the driver at night. The only option is to turn the display off which takes 5 separate inputs to the display control.

Rear facing camera can not be dimmed. When backing at night, camera display is so bright you can't use your mirrors. You can not focus on anything that may be along side of the vehicle.

When accelerating from a stop truck hesitates to the point where you could get hit or you have to push pedal hard which makes vehicle jerk or spin tires, especially when wet pavements. Also will stutter and vibrate at higher speeds. Been told it's normal for this truck with its fuel saving [xxx] from 4-8 cylinder.

When putting the vehicle into reverse for the purpose of backing up, the radio screen illuminates to a blinding level of brightness when the rear camera view is displayed. This is especially noticeable at night and impairs my ability to see out of my windows.
