WHEN THE TRUCK IS RUNNING IT LOSES POWER AND THE AC TURNS OFF AND THE RADIO TURNS OFF AND A MESSAGE COMES ON THE MESSAGE BOX STABILITY RACK AND THEN THE AC TURN BACK ON AND THE RADIO. THEN WHEN DRIVE AND TRY TO MAKE A TURN TRUCK TURNS OFF HAVE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND TURN IT BACK ON. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 70 TO 75MPH MY 2014 SILVERADO JUST CUTS OFF AND SHUTS DOWN GRAVELLY REDUCING MY VELOCITY. THIS OCCURRED AS I WAS MERGING ONTO A LANE AND WHEN I ACCELERATED TO MERGE MY TRUCK TURNS OFF. ALL THE DISPLAYS IN THE VEHICLE TURN OFF INCLUDING MY RADIO AND A/C. I LOST POWER STEERING FUNCTIONS AND I COULD NOT EVEN TURN ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS. MY 2014 SILVERADO ALSO STALLS WHILE COASTING TO A STOP, THE POWER STEERING GOES FIRST AND THE STEERING WHEEL GETS HARD TO TURN AND THE VEHICLE SHUTS OF IN ORDER TO TURN IT ON I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN THE IGNITION AGAIN. THE CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MERGING LANES AT ABOUT 70 MPH MY VEHICLE BLACKED OUT. THE ENGINE CUT OFF, THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND ALL MY FUNCTIONS WERE LOST. I WASN'T ABLE TO STEER AND I WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. EVERYTHING TURNS OFF IT IS ALMOST LIKE THE WHOLE CAR JUST HITS A RESET BUTTON.. AFTER IT STALLS THE AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON AND STAYS ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR SO AND THE DISPLAY ON THE DASH GOES TO THE MEDIA SECTION.THIS ISN'T THE FIRST THAT IT OCCURS, IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM TAKING EVEN MONTHS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE SEVERAL INJURIES. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE ILLUSION THAT IT WOULD KEEP MY NEW FAMILY SAFE HOWEVER IT HAS CAUSED ME NOTHING BUT FRUSTRATION TIME AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WORRY FOR MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY'S. I HAVE VIDEO DOCUMENTATION. *TR
MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO, IT'S ELECKTRONICKS DEBILITY CONTROL SYSTEM COMES ON INADVERTENTLY, CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL. MY TRACK SHE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT, BREAKS STOP WORKING, I HAVE GONE OFF THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TWICE IN THE PAST 3 WEEKS. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO CHEVRON WAY AT LEAST 5 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE WITH NO RESOLUTION. NOW MY VEHICLE AS A 101000 MILES AND THEY WILL NOT LOOK AT IT AGAIN WITH OUT MONEY. THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN, AND GENERAL MOTORS WILL NOT HELP ME AT ALL. CHEVROLET WILL NOT HONOR THIS IS YOU AND WOULD RATHER ME CRASH MY VEHICLE, THEN HELP ME RESOLVE IT. STAY AWAY FROM GENERAL MOTORS THEY ARE NOT PUTTING OUT GOOD PRODUCTS AT THIS TIME PERIOD
HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE EPS CUTTING OUT AFTER THE TRUCK WAS CRANKED AND THE WHEEL WAS TURNED IMMEDIATELY TO ONE SIDE. TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO DEAL WITH THE RECALL OUT ON THE VEHICLE WHICH DEALT WITH EPS CUTTING OUT. A WEEK LATER, WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT THE EPS CUT OUT YET AGAIN (THIS TIME WHILE MOVING) AND STRAIGHTENED THE STEERING WHEEL BACK UP. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I COULD HIT BECAUSE I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE STEERING. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. SOMEONE COULD HURT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS THE SERVICE POWER STEERING BOX POPS UP IN THE DASH.
POWER STEERING IS GIVING OUT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME CAUSING ISSUES WHILE TURNING AT LOWER SPEEDS & ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK A FEW TIMES AND THEN STABILITY CONTROL AND DASH ITEMS, AC & RADIO TURN OFF WHILE THIS HAPPENING - EVERYTHING MY TRUCK IS EXPERIENCING IS AS DESCRIBED IN RECALL INFO BELOW FROM CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THIS IS TAKEN PLACE A FEW TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY TOOK TRUCK INTO DEALERSHIP ON 10/12/18. WHEN POWER STEERING IS LOST, DRIVERS MAY ALSO NOTICE A DASHBOARD LIGHT WARNING THEM OF A POWER STEERING FAULT, OR THEY MAY NOTICE THAT ALL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS ARE TEMPORARILY DISABLED, THE AGENCY SAYS. OTHER RELATED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, SUCH AS TRACTION CONTROL, AIR CONDITIONING, WARNING CHIMES, POWER DOOR LOCKS, AND CRUISE CONTROL, MAY ALSO STOP WORKING WHEN THE POWER STEERING HAS BEEN LOST.
SERVICE 4WD NOTIFICATION TURNED ON. 2 DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED IN 4WD, MAKING REVERSING AND TURNING DIFFICULT. REDUCED TURNING RADIUS AS A RESULT. SOUND OF GRINDING WHEN TURNING. SENSATION OF TIRES GRIPPING OVERLY HARD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE AN ELECTRICAL RECALL WAS JUST DONE A MONTH PRIOR. THEY SAID THE TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE AND ACTUATOR MOTOR WERE FAULTY. THE ALIGNMENT, WHICH HAD BEEN JUST TUNED LESS THAN A MONTH PRIOR, WAS ALSO FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REDONE. THESE ITEMS WERE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1,184.37.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STABILITRAK TURNS OFF WHILE MAKING LOW SPEED MANEUVERS. TRUCK OCCASIONALLY SHUTS OFF AND WILL NEED TO BE RESTARTED.
I WAS BACKING UP TO MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THE CHIME STARTED TO SOUND OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL FROZE IT WOULDN'T TURN ,TIL I STOP AND PULLED UP THEN IT TURN IT WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET I'M GLAD I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY
WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF AND THE STEERING LOCKS WITH NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AT OTHER TIMES THE STEERING WHEEL TURNS SIDE TO SIDE WILDLY WITH NO DRIVER INPUT . I AM AWARE OF THE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND HAVE HAD THE TRUCK AT A DEALERSHIP TWICE BUT THE ISSUE KEEPS COMING BACK. MY TRUCK HAS 42000 MILES AND IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF BUT IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE, PLEASE HELP AS I KNOW THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE, THANKS.
FAILURE OF STEERING, STABILITRAC, STEREO. WHEN YOU TRY TO STEER, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER, THE HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER, THE RADIO WOULD MAKE A SHORTING SOUND, AND THE SERVICE STABILITRAC WOULD DISPLAY. AN ONLINE SEARCH FOUND SEVERAL THREADS ON THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS THE POSSIBILITY OF KILLING SOMEONE. GM HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN (PIT5405A) RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM, YET THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL? THE MOST COMMON SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE SOME RUBBER INSULATION PINCHED UNDER A GROUND LUG UNDER THE DASH SO IT'S NOT MAINTENANCE RELATED. YET, THEY ARE CHARGING OWNERS TO FIX IT?
HAD CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 75 ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I TURN BLINKER ON TO CHANGE LANES IT CAUSE THE CRUISE TO TURN OFF AND SAYS SERVICE STABILTRAK AND STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE. THEN WHEN AND I TURN FROM A SLOW SPEED THE POWER STEERING GOES OFF FOR A SECOND THEN THE VEHICLE DIES.
AFTER RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I AM ABLE TO SEE STRONG SIMILARITIES IN WHAT EVERYONE IS CALLING THE G218 GROUND ISSUE. MY VEHICLE'S POWER ASSISTED STEERING WILL GO OUT IN A SLOW TURN. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN A FIRE HYDRANT COLLISION LAST NIGHT. THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SAYS TO SERVICE THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM. IT ALSO WILL COME UP WITH OTHER ERRORS EITHER CONCERNING THE STEERING COLUMN OR THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK OUT OF YOUR HANDS ALMOST AS IF THE VEHICLE IS STEERING ITSELF AGAINST THE TURN. ON TWO OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE DIED AND WOULD NOT START UNTIL RESTING FOR A BIT, ONCE FOR TEN MINUTES IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE VERY SOON. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON FLAW FROM THE FACTORY. I WOULD SERIOUSLY HATE TO HEAR THIS HAPPENING TO A MOTHER WITH A VEHICLE FULL OF CHILDREN. ..UPDATED 06/14/17 *BF UPDATED 06/30/2017*17
WAS DRIVING TO THE DENTIST. PULLED UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND "STABILITRACK FAILURE" POPED UP. WAS PULLING INTO THE DOCTORS OFFICE NOT 8 MIN L8R CAME UP AGAIN BUT THIS TIME STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP THEN UN LOCKED THEN LOCKED UP MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE I WAS TRYING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE. THANKFULLY I WAS GOING AT AN EXTREMELY LOW SPEED AND I COULD CONTROL THE VEHICLE BETWEEN IT LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. WHEN I LEFT THE DOCTORS OFFICE I NOTICED MY SETTINGS RESET. EX DASHBOARD DISPLAY SHOWED THE RADIO STATION INSTEAD OF THE FUEL ECONOMY. I SIMPLY CHANGED IT AND NOTICED THE COMPUTER ERASED MY PREVIOUS FUEL ECONOMY. I'M ASSUMING THEIRS SOME MALFUNCTION BETWEEN THE COMPUTER AND THESE SYSTEMS. AND FROM THE LOOKS OF IT MY VEHICLE ISN'T THE ONLY VEHICLE WITH THIS ISSUE.DEALER SUPPOSEDLY FIXED BUT I`M TO SCARE TO DRIVE IT I DON`T` FEEL SAFE WHEN IT`S STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING
AT 55,000 MI, THE TRUCK STARTED HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES, CAUSING NEAR ACCIDENTS. NUMEROUS WARNING MESSAGES ON THE DASH, SUCH AS SERVICE STABILITRAC, THEN IT JERKS THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF YOUR HAND AND DIES WHILE IN MOTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE STABILITRAC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,192.
