Your wheel speed sensors may be causing your brakes to partially lock up and drag while driving, creating a safety hazard. A local garage identified a recall (N192261050) that should fix this issue at no cost, but two Chevrolet dealerships say your truck's VIN doesn't show an active recall in their system. The problem is intermittent and can reappear unpredictably. The fix will likely involve inspection and replacement of the wheel speed sensors at a Chevrolet dealership under the recall program.

Vehicle has intermitten reduced engine display while traveling down the high way. Causes the vehicle to downshift and significantly increase engine RPM. I’m fearing if this continues to happen it will blow up my engine. The ecu shows code p2138. After some research I’ve learned GM is aware of this fsult in their vehicles and I believe they should be the one paying for their mistake. Not me.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND DID NOT PROVIDE FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000. *DT*JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE BRAKES ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

DROVE HOME FROM DEALER ON HIGHWAY, VERY NOTICEABLE PULSING VIBRATION FELT IN GAS PEDAL ONCE I HIT 65MPH. VEHICLE ALSO "SHAKES" AT A CONSTANT RATE AT 50MPH, AND MORE VIOLENTLY AT 82-85MPH. DROVE UP TO 500 MILES PER DEALERS DIRECTION, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND HAS NOT GONE AWAY AT ALL. *TR

I PULLED OUT OF A PARKING LOT ON TO A CITY STREET AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE, PLANNING TO GET UP TO ABOUT 25 MPH BECAUSE THERE WAS A RED LIGHT A BLOCK AWAY. THE TRUCK RESPONDED AS IF I HAD FLOORED THE PEDAL. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE PEDAL AND THE TRUCK KEPT ACCELERATING AT FULL THROTTLE. I HIT THE BRAKES THINKING THE CRUISE CONTROL HAD GONE NUTS, BUT HITTING THE BRAKES WOULD NOT TURN IT OFF. IT KEPT ACCELERATING WITH THE TACH OVER 5000. I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE SPEED DROPPED DOWN TO IDLE. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I SHIFTED BACK TO DRIVE AND THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STARTED ACCELERATING AGAIN AT FULL THROTTLE. I PUT IT BACK IN NEUTRAL, MOVED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND TURNED THE KEY OFF. THEN I STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN AND THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED. I'M 72; IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING BY HERSELF, SHE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS WRECK. THE TRUCK IS A 2014 SILVERADO, BOUGHT 4 WEEKS AGO, 6 CYLINDER WORK TRUCK. *TR
