Exhaust fumes are entering your cabin through the climate system, likely due to leaking exhaust manifolds. When you turn on air recirculation, the smell goes away, but with it off, exhaust odors become strong inside the car. This is causing respiratory problems, fatigue, and eye irritation for you. You're forced to use recirculation constantly, but this causes window fogging in winter and humid conditions, which creates a safety hazard—and opening windows defeats the purpose by adding noise and making temperature control difficult. The dealer initially declined to cover it, but this should have been a warranty issue before you exceeded 60,000 miles. Fixing this likely requires inspection and repair of the exhaust manifold gaskets or seals to prevent fume leakage into the cabin.

Your Jeep's cabin heat randomly stops working and blows cold air instead, particularly when the battery is low, making it impossible to defrost your windshield in winter conditions. The dealer initially dismissed this as normal but eventually tried replacing a coolant valve that can stick. Some owners have reported success with ECH (engine control module) replacements, though it's unclear which fix will resolve your specific issue.

Vehicle hybrid system shuts down vehicle at random times. “Service hybrid system” warning comes on, dealership will not fix or acknowledge the issue. The battery is at fire risk if I charge the vehicle. Car has shut down and died multiple times, and does not respond for up to 30 minutes. Car has shut down while driving, putting itself into limp mode, citing the hybrid system. There has been 10 recalls on this vehicle, with new ones coming multiple times a year. Car losing ability to drive, or catching fire due to hybrid system, puts the driver and other drivers on the road in danger of collision or even death. All recalls have been remedied when a solution was available, but vehicle still does not perform up to safety standards.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve which is affected by recalls 78C and 68C. These recalls have no remedy, no timeline, and no clear information from Stellantis. I no longer feel safe driving my daily driver, and the lack of progress has created a serious safety and reliability issue. Stellantis has instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings or other vehicles. This implies a potential fire risk that many owners cannot avoid, especially those who live in shared parking areas, garages, apartments, or townhomes. This should be treated as a major safety hazard. Stellantis has already attempted software updates and even high voltage battery replacements, but these efforts have not resolved the problem. The fact that previous fixes failed suggests a hardware defect involving the battery system or related components. Stellantis has not provided accurate or transparent information, and owners have no path forward. Because Stellantis advises against charging, the hybrid system cannot be used at all. This eliminates the purpose of the vehicle and increases operating costs. I have spent many hours at dealerships with no solution. Stellantis Customer Care has stated that they will not offer support or compensation and directed me to a third party arbitrator. I respectfully request that NHTSA increase oversight of recalls 78C and 68C, investigate whether Stellantis has properly identified the defect, and determine whether the company is meeting federal recall obligations. I also ask NHTSA to consider whether this situation warrants interim owner compensation or potential buy back evaluation due to ongoing safety risks, failed repairs, and the complete loss of hybrid functionality.

Vehicle had complete system shut down while driving. Multiple warning lights came on and vehicle went completely dead. I could have been severely injured or killed if I had been on a highway or if other cars had been behind me.Jeep stated that it was an airbag sensor. Upon picking up from dealership (May 30) warning light came on stating "service vehicle electric hybrid system". Jeep states this is a software issue with no known fix and that engineering has been notified of problem. Since that time the air conditioning stopped working and warning light continues to come on. Vehicle has been left at dealership as not confident in safety of vehicle.

While driving on the highway, I heard a loud POP coming from the roof of my vehicle. I have a panoramic sunroof. I then pulled over and saw that my sunroof had shattered. The car is less than two years old. I did some research and discovered that I was not the first person to whom this happened. I contacted Jeep, and they were no help with it. They stated they were not responsible for anything and did not even care what I had to say.

The front passenger door is unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. The handle from the inside feels like it has no tension, like something snapped inside. Two local mechanics suggested taking to the dealer as this seems like a potential safety issue with no means of egress from the passenger side if needed. Dealer said they have never seen this problem and deem that a fix will be very difficult as they are unable to open the door to remove the interior panel. The only way to access the latch mechanism is to remove the exterior door panel, a major task. Two safety issues- impossible to exit door inside, what if this happens to another door and I am unable to escape my vehicle? Or unable to get my child from inside? And because the mechanism cannot be inspected, is the door safely locked, or will it open while driving? Contacted Chrysler and they are unwilling to cover repair since vehicle is at 39,000 miles and warranty ended at 36,000. Chrysler rep also said never seen this issue before. Should be covered as manufacturing defect and potential major safety issue.

I would like to register a formal complaint for the timing its taking to get the open recall resolved on this vehicle. NHTSA Recall Number24V-720. Due to this issue, I am unable to leverage the hybrid/electric features of my vehicle which is costly me more money in fuel costs. Where I previously filled my tank approximately every 3 months, i now have to do it weekly. I have read online that estimates are taking another 4-5 months before resolution. That is unacceptable solution to an existing problem. This is not a great experience for a first time hybrid buyer who is trying to adopt the new technology. When I purchased my vehicle, i influenced two friends to also purchase one. I would have not made this recommendation had I known open recall issues will not be resolved in a timely manner. Lastly, now i have the concern of parking the vehicle in my garage which could result in losing my entire household and its contents. This is unreal to me.

Jeep app has failed to inform me of recalls in a timely manner. The Gas Buddy app linked to my vehicle VIN provided information within 24 hours of your published recall. I have checked my VIN in your app to verify that it is part of the recall. Since the battery fires can start without notice and could destroy my house and kill my family this should have been immediately sent via the Jeep app. The recall notification on the Jeep app has not been updated since 2 August 2024, also unacceptable - this should be updated at worst weekly. Sending notification by snail mail is not acceptable in the 21st century especially when there is an app and the vehicle has internet connection. The recall should also be announced on the start screen when I start my vehicle.

While on the highway, the 2 piece panoramic moonroof exploded. There was a loud pop, and then the glass shattered. There was no indication of any previous issue. The sun guard screen was open to let the light in, so the glass just fell into the car. A small, but unconfirmed observation from other drivers on the highway at the time, made me think the glass also fell unto the highway as the glass exploded away from the car. The dealership I took the car to was unable to confirm this was an explosion due to a defect or something hitting the car. However, I did not witness any object flying over head that would have dropped anything and nothing was found in the car. Only the dealership has looked at the Jeep so far. My insurance has been contacted to just let them know this occurred, but no claim has been filed as of 11/3/23.

I was turning at an intersection when I got rear-ended. I do not recall the car stopping right before I got hit, but there is video that shows the my jeep stopped suddenly during the intersection right before I was rear-ended. It appears the oncoming car turning the opposite way got too close causing my automatic braking system to immediately stop my car while I was driving. There is no other explanation as to why the jeep just suddenly stopped as I know I did not press on the brakes myself.

Unknown, The Jeep designed as to not be able to be put in drive with a door ajar. Twice now pulling out of parking lots, while driving the vehicle has disabled itself, put it inself in park stating a door was left open. I'm alright with a vehicle not allowing an operator to leave park while a door is open but it shouldn't be able to disable the vehicle while turning on to a busy street once moving.

Purchased 1 Feb 23. 3 weeks later, I pulled out of driveway and drove 3 blocks before coming to stop sign, After stopping, I proceeded to pull across 4 lane hwy. Only to have vehicle shut off in middle of 2 lanes. I was left sitting broadside in middle of 2 lanes. I finally realized the drivers door was ajar, I closed door completely and was able to restart vehicle. It is Now June 2023 and it happened again after driving about 3 blocks. This time It shut off while I was driving 50 mph in middle of 2 lane hwy. Again drivers door was ajar. This is a serious safety hazzard. Vehicle is not supposed to move if door is not closed completely. There were no bells or lights warning you that door was not closed completely. Jeep Dearlership does not seem to think this is a major safety issue and did nothing to fix.

The SUV likes to stall or glitch out when trying to start. Won’t shut off when it goes through this situation. Starter has been replaced and so has battery. Dealership still can’t figure it out. Makes weird noise also that we can’t pin point. Doesn’t happen every start on spontaneously.

The rear view camera and surround camera intermittently work. It is available for inspection. This is a safety risk for myself and others when backing up the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed and reproduced by a dealer. There is no indication of the failure before it happens.

2 different times when pushing the gas pedal on my vehicle it would not accelerate. The first time was while driving then accelerating. The second time was while I was stopped at a stop light trying to take a free right from a stopped position. Both times it sounded/felt like if you pushed the gas while in neutral, but it was in drive.) The second time this occurred I was pulling out onto a busy street and was almost rear ended. This puts both me and my occupants at risk and the other cars around me. Both times I was able to get the car moving again by putting it into park then back into drive. My husband took the vehicle to the dealership today (5/26/22) and was told that they had heard of the problem but that there was no fix or recall. They offered no other advice or remedy for this unsafe situation other than to wait for a recall.
