Your Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking systems aren't working properly—they fail to alert you or brake when a collision is imminent, and warning lights stay on even after you try to reset them through the vehicle's settings. After software updates, these safety features often turn off on their own and won't stay enabled. You're also seeing error messages about limited functionality even in clear weather with clean sensors. Getting these systems properly calibrated and reprogrammed by a dealer may be needed to restore the safety features you paid for.

Your 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is braking on its own while driving normally, even when there are no obstacles in the road ahead. The forward collision warning light stays on constantly, and this unexpected braking happens almost daily, creating a risk that another vehicle could hit you from behind. Your dealership has attempted repairs multiple times since you purchased the vehicle, but the problem persists. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and repairing or replacing the forward collision avoidance system sensors or control module.

The Forward collision Warning light came on again after switching to Italian. Dealership says the warranty just ran out but this multiple times this happens and clearly it has not been fixed. FCW issue

randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp).almost caused crash twice!!!

I have code B273C-00 digital crash input on my jeep. This is the code dealerships were informed if they see this code the vehicles have to be grounded. At this time, there is no remedy for the grand cherokees. The dealership can't release my jeep back due to safety reasons, and it's been with them for over an month and counting.

After having my 22 Jeep Grand Cherokee at OBX Jeep in NC for over 10 months for electrical and camera issues it was shipped to Brown Daub Jeep in Easton, PA for overdue PA State Inspection due to the length of the repair in NC. Supposedly OBX Jeep said it was repaired but car immediately had electrical issues including FCW OFF dash light. The PA Jeep dealer corrected electrical issues following Jeep Star Publication and it was returned to me July 3, 2025. FCW OFF dash light has come back on on [XXX] and OBX Jeep is indicating I must again leave it with them to further diagnose the issue. The vehicle in September of 2024 after a software update randomly changed the settings. The forward collision off warning light remains on (in settings the forward collision is "on", the language changed to Italian, the paddle shifters stopped working, the units changed, and the grid for the backup camera was turned off). I had it serviced at Jeep. They reset the vehicle which temporarily fixed the issue, however, 3 weeks later it happened again. There is a known MOPAR/star case number S2108000249. This is also reported in Jeep Forum. My safety is at risk due to the failure of the forward collision warning light/software malfunction. I feel that I am at risk for a forward collision. Also the paddle shifters don't work.

While traveling/driving with the ADAS on, the brakes slam on detecting a front end impact. The dash board disappears and the word BRAKE in all red capital lettering with a very loud beeping coming through the speakers happens. The first time it happened was in Oct of 2023 and has happened every time I travel using the ADAS. I have made an appt every time I’ve gotten back to town after traveling to have it looked at. #1 I’ve been told they can’t find a problem with it, #2 It’s been recalibrated 3 times and the service manager even asked for my permission to take my vehicle to his personal home for the weekend so that he could follow the FCA guidelines after it was recalibrated because it had to sit for a time period before it was drove. My Jeep App can show the history of its location. While traveling home the weekend of April 26, 2024 the brakes slammed on 3 times simultaneously causing all traffic behind me to lock up their brakes. Had I gotten hit I would’ve become a human pin ball across 3 lanes of Interstate 80/90. When I pulled off on the side of road so did the vehicle who almost hit me, I was so shook up I was in tears #3 I got told to not use the feature since I knew there was a problem, #4 I asked if there was something they could install to record what’s going on #5 they finally installed an “In flight recording module” the time before I drove home but upon return saying it recorded information but that they don’t know the reason why it’s doing it or how to fix it. I’ve never received a single invoice from the dealership when I’ve taken it in for this EVER!!!! I’ve only been told they have “Star cases” on it and that is enough to prove its a “buy back or lemon”, the last message I received from a Service Rep at the dealership was from Jul 25, 2024 about seeking a buy back. I sent a message today (Aug 25, 2024) asking for a plan or solution to this problem. I’ve heard nothing yet again from anyone!!!!!! I’m beyond frustrated!!!!!!!!!

While passing through an intersection the AEB brought the vehicle to a full stop despite no forward traffic or obstructions. Warning system lights lights for other systems (traction control, airbags, etc.) lit up in the dash. A vehicle traveling behind nearly collided in light of the unwarranted braking. After coming to a complete stop the vehicle released the brake on its own and shut off the other system warning lights. Normal operation ensued.

While making a protected left turn at a traffic control signal, with oncoming traffic also turning left at the same time, the automatic emergency braking engaged. I was unable to override the AEB, and the vehicle came to a sudden, complete stop halfway through the turn. The vehicle behind almost impacted my vehicle due to the erroneous braking.

We have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. With the Automatic Emergency Braking system turned on, the vehicle slammed the brakes in the middle of an intersection almost causing an accident. Fortunately the vehicle behind us was able to avoid a collision, but this is an unsafe setting. It has done this twice since we purchased the car in Jan. Of 2022. The setting remains turned off now.
