I have experienced abrupt loss of propulsion events consistent with recall 25V-576. I have reached out to Stellantis repeatedly for resolution and no one ever follows up with an answer or a resolution.

The Hybrid System had a failure - flashed on the screen - and then shut off/ could not use acceleration pedal. This notification had appeared twice before, taken to the dealer, and told it was just a glitch. My wife was on the interstate when she lost he ability to accelerate. We had it towed to the original dealership of purchase. The Jeep is sitting at the dealership now.

Subject: Supplemental Evidence – ODI Complaint [NHTSA complaint 1663939 and 11673063.] Dear NHTSA, I am submitting supplemental evidence regarding my complaint of loss of propulsion in my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN ending [XXX] ). On September 4, 2025, Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) filed Recall 25V576 covering 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEVs (2022–2026) for the exact defect I reported: a software error in the Hybrid Control Processor that may cause a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. This defect was documented in my case as DTC B273C-00. My dealership confirmed the code on multiple service visits (February 25, 2025 and May 21, 2025), and the arbitrator in Case #[XXX] also confirmed the defect in his July 7, 2025 decision. Despite this, FCA repeatedly denied any safety concern, asserting my vehicle was “safe to operate.” The recall proves that: •The defect is real and poses a safety risk. •FCA was aware of the defect months before acknowledging it publicly. •FCA misled me, the Illinois Attorney General’s office, and arbitration proceedings by denying the existence of a safety issue. For the record, I experienced loss of propulsion while driving with my children, which created a dangerous situation. I ask that my complaint remain open and that NHTSA investigate FCA’s delay and misrepresentations in disclosing this safety defect. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On May 4th, 2025, at approximately 10:50am I was traveling at approximately 65mph on a 6 lane highway when the vehicle lost all all propulsion. Following sequence of events took place on car: - Dashboard warning to service hybrid system flashed - Dashboard message to depress break and push button to start car. - Car lost power. Could not accelerate. Display and radio still worked. - Coasted across 2 lanes of traffic to side of the highway. - Car went into Park and Emergency brake engaged without my action. - Pushed start button and car started. On a busy highway, the vehicle would not accelerate resulting putting both my life and the lives of others on that highway at risk. I am now afraid to drive the vehicle. Vehicle has ALL service notice recalls completed. Vehicle taken to Jeep dealer for service. At dealer for 48 hours now. Dealer does not know how to fix vehicle. Dealer stated they have 4 other vehicles with the same exact problem. Dealer stated Jeep does not have a fix. No ETA for fixed car given.

Event occurred within 2 days and 50 miles of recall 95B service being performed on 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe showing passing results. After startup of the vehicle and being placed into 'electric' only drive mode and DRIVE engaged, the vehicle traveled down the driveway approximately 10 feet when the vehicle juddered, the driver display showed an error message "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System", a red wrench icon appeared in the dashboard/instrument cluster, and the vehicle automatically switch into 'hybrid' drive mode and started the gasoline motor. The vehicle was turned off, then restarted. Upon restart the error message was not visible and the red wrench icon was gone. Vehicle was then able to be operated in full electric drive mode. My safety was at risk because if the sudden juddering and loss of power occurred at speed on the general roadway instead of in my driveway I could have lost control of the vehicle and crashed. I do not know if this has been reproduced by the dealership but I have heard anecdotally about other 4xe drivers having this same issue immediately after the 95B recall service was performed. The vehicle is scheduled for inspection with a Jeep dealership on 1/21/25

Was driving 40 MPH when suddenly the vehicles dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. The vehicle would not allow me to go more than about 20MPH. Luckily the person behind me stopped before rear ending me. This is the second time this has happened now. I am afraid to even drive this vehicle now, as I’m afraid it may cause an accident. I contacted Jeep about this, and they didn’t do anything about it and said there was no recall related to loss of motive power. If this happened in a highway, this would have been a disaster.

There is a recall in place for this issue but no remedy in place or timeline. This vehicle can start on fire anytime while driving or parked. This is not reparable at the moment but JEEP FCA need to help owners who cannot drive their cars since unsafe.

Hybrid powertrain control buttons are not visible, hidden behind steering wheel and turn signal switch. There are 4 buttons of similar shape and size in a single bezel - 3 control the hybrid mode and the other opens the fuel door. The is no tactile identification for the switches. Must take your eyes off the road and look under the steering wheel and turn signal switch to change hybrid mode. These modes need to be visible from the driver’s normal seating position.

Fuel gauge incorrectly shows to be full (with no change in range) until about 4 gallons (~80-90 miles) has been used. After that the fuel gauge begins to register and the Range begins moving down. After several attempts to get the issue fixed, I finally had a service manager admit it is an issue with all Cherokee & Wrangler 4xe models. I then did an internet search and discovered it is a well known issue.
