2017 Jeep Cherokee Engine Problems

The vehicle is burning oil and even though the oil light doesn't come on the vehicle will stall and die while driving because it's burning oil. This should not be happening as there is no indication of any low oil until the stall. Keep needs to fix this or will be sued when an accident occurs because of an engine stall without any indicators

On numerous occasions the car engine just shuts off or loses power. This happens consistently. The car has been taken to the dealership where it was purchased and was told "could not duplicate problem".

Heater hose broke while on the freeway causing all of the antifreeze to leak out and car to overheat with no warnings signs. Car started shaking and I pulled over and it shut off. Turns out the heater hose is made with two tubes connected toghether and the hose broke where the connect.

This was during heavy rains and while the car was hydroplaning. The four wheel drive system kicked in and then the unit failed.

11/18/2019,when I was going to park at my daughter 's daycare on w 87th st, the engine just stopped working and the car could not move any more.the screen showed"shift to park or neutral press brake+select gear".we tried to do as the screen told but still the car could not move. I had to retart the car, then we can move again.

Cpsc: has anyone reported that jeep cherokees with a 4 cylinder engine are just shutting off when oil does not get to the upper part of the engine. It has happened to us and quite a few others apparently. I know the problem is not unique to us.

My engine guzzles oil and shuts off while driving! This is the 2nd time this has happened!

Engine light is on due to defective thermostat. It's not right making someone pay for a defective part on a 2yr old vehicle due to poor quality! If american cars are so good then we shouldn't have issues like this.

While engaged in driving mode, the car will cut off and give message of "shift to park or neutral, press brake to select gear" this happens while I have been driving the car. This has happened while I was existing a parking lot, driving down a street, and most recent while entering a freeway.

On four occasions the engine started racing while I was braking. On the most recent occasion, I was trying to stop the car for a woman in a crosswalk when the engine started racing even though I was braking. This lasted several seconds before returning to normal idling.

Stop/start feature danger: I was making a left turn, pulling out from a driveway in heavy cross traffic. I was pulling onto a four lane road. Just as I started to lift my foot from the brake, the stop/start feature shut the engine off.
