This issue has happened seven times now in the last month. Most recent was on 11/14/2019. While driving (in motion) about 25 MPH in residential area, jeep turns off in the middle of the road.

When driving in the mountains of west virginian having the cruise control set to 70 everything works fine until you come to a steep down hill grade. Suddenly I would look down and I would be doing 90 miles a hour and the engine RPM is over 5000. This happened 4 times.

My jeep has been having a disturbing problem with the cruise control for months. Periodically, cruise control accelerates on its own way above what it's set at (e.g. It's set at 75 MPH on the highway and suddenly it accelerates to 95 MPH).

The car began jerking as if in the process of stalling while driving on the highway. Then, whenever the car was stopped at a light or accelerating the stall like jerking would occur again.

My vehicle stalls while driving; on the expressway, after a car wash, in the school parking lot. This is very dangerous!! It happened 3 times during rush hour traffic on a friday night.

While driving the car on 2 separate occasions, the car died while in motion. The first time, I was leaving church and made a left turn. The car stalled and I was able to move out of the way of traffic onto the shoulder of the road.

Cruise control would not disengage. Instead it accelerated me to 85 MPH is rush hour traffic. The car continued to accelerate will out responding to any commands to turn off cruise control.

Sometimes when I mash the gas pedal to pull out from a stop it hesitates and doesn't move, then is sluggish when it does. This has happened often. It's dangerous.

Car refused to exit cruise control, again Instead it accelerated. I pressed again and again cruise control to stop it did not respond. Repeatedly And more frantic I pushed pushed the button as stopped cars grew closer.

2016 jeep cherokee. When starting to accelerate from a stop, car starts to move then hesitates as if shifting to a higher gear, way to early. Rpms go up then transmission shifts back down to correct gear, causing jerking reaction and then runs normally.

I was driving on the freeway with a friend, had my cruise control set and the car started speeding up, I pressed the brake pedal to disengage and it didnt so I pressed cancel on the steering wheel it just keep going, I keep tapping the break pedal, finally it just went off,I asked my girlfriend if she felt that, she said yes I thought you were doing it, I wondered what you were doing..I had a recall on my car eariler for the cruise control and took it in but if this is the same issue it wasnt fixed properly.

My 2016 jeep cherokee latitude 4 x 4 overheated bursting 2 cooling heater hoses, drained out all the antifreeze coolant. Mechanic hopes that head gasket will be the only damage otherwise can ruin the engine and that will cause a engine replacement which will be a very high cost.

As I'm driving, a dash warning light comes on that says 'service shifter' and all the lights indicating what gear I'm in come on. This has happened twice in the past week and I've before about three months ago, twice on a city street (45mph) and once on a highway (65mph). Each time the car has to be turned off and restarted to clear the message.

I was driving down the highway with my daughter and my dog with me and had the cruise control set to 75 MPH. There is a part of the highway where the speed limit drops to 65 MPH so I slowed the vehicle down to 64 MPH when it suddenly revved up to 5000 rpms and hit 75 MPH again. The car has been surging lately but I thought it was from the weather getting colder.

While driving on the freeway an engine warning light appeared on the dash with the message "service transmission" and my speed immediately dropped and I was unable to accelerate to move out of the way of oncoming vehicles. I was barely able to pull the car over. Once stopped the message went away and acceleration was restored, but message occurred again and power was again lost.

Takata recall: I bought the car in june of 2016. Two months later I went into the dealer to complain about my car shaking and the accelerator how my car feels as if it's shifting gears. They take my car to check and told me they can not duplicate the issue so I received my car back.

On several different occasions now, after accelerating from a complete stop the car will start to accelerate and then it'll no longer respond to pressing down the accelerator. The engine does not rev and no speed is gained as the car continues to coast. I have been able to remedy it by shifting into neutral and back into drive.

While using cruise control, traveling down a moderately steep hill, the speed would not remain constant and the engine would actually engage to accelerate the vehicle rather than govern the speed at the MPH setpoint, without having my foot on the throttle. The tachometer would show the engine rev increase and you could hear the engine as well when this happened.

When driving at highway speeds (70-75 MPH) and speed control is engaged, while cresting a hill, sometimes the car will take off to over 80 MPH and the tach. Goes to over 4,000 RPM. Braking doesn't seem to disengage the control.

WHEN DRIVING ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY, I SET THE CRUSE CONTROL AT 58MPH. THE CRUSE SET WAS DONE AT THE CREST OF A HILL. THE CAR THEN ACCELERATED TO 70MPH BEFORE BACKING OFF TO 58MPH. THIS CAR HAS NEVER DONE THIS ON THIS HILL OR ANY OTHER HILL. IN FACT IT'S ALWAYS HELD IT'S SPEED VERY WELL. THIS MAY BE A ONE-OFF INCIDENT, NEVER TO OCCUR AGAIN, BUT I FELT IT NEEDED TO BE REPORTED TO THE DEALER AS I'VE ONLY GOT 6000 MILES ON THIS CAR. THE SERVICE TECH LAUGHED AND SAID THIS WAS NORMAL. I DISAGREE.

Speedometer reading is off... Caused speeding ticket, because I didn't realize I was speeding because of the speedometer reading was off. Officer said he clocked me at 94 MPH in 70mph, thought I was going 73....in motion on highway

Does not hold the selected speed when going down hill with cruise control set. Transmission shifts down but does not stay in one gear, shifts up and down.

A service shifter light has been an ongoing issue. We had it serviced once. What happens is the light comes on and all gears are lit up as to say you're in all gears p,r,n,d....etc.

The shift module unit is going bad . It will read in the display dash service shifter and red lights appear for all gears park, n, drive, reverse, no auto

While in cruise control and going downhill, vehicle will often downshift and quickly accelerate about 10 MPH. Cruise control will regain conrol and slow to set speed after a few seconds. Thus far I have observed this behavior at set speeds of 45 MPH and at 68 MPH.

While using cruise control, traveling up and down hills, the speed would not remain constant. The variation of the speed would be between negative 5 MPH to 16 plus MPH, without my foot being on the throttle. At times while traveling down hills, the engine would actually engage to accelerate the vehicle.
