Your Jeep sometimes won't start and just cranks without turning over, especially after you've parked it for a few hours. This has been happening for a couple of years, and multiple mechanics haven't been able to identify the cause. The problem usually resolves itself the next day. A diagnostic test of your battery, starter motor, and fuel pump relay may be needed to pinpoint the intermittent starting issue.

REF: RECALL N45 FOR REAR STRUCTURE REINFORCEMENT. I SCHEDULED A 10:00 AM APPOINTMENT WITH COLE CHRYSLER-DODGE-JEEP-MAZDA-FIAT IN SAN LUIS OBISPO ABOUT 3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. MY WIFE AND I DROVE TO THE APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD ONLY NEED BETWEEN AN HOUR AND 1 1/2 HOURS TO DO THE INSPECTION. SINCE WE HAD TO DRIVE OVER 20 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP, WE WAITED IN THE WAITING ROOM. AFTER AN HOUR AND A HALF, I INQUIRED AS TO THE STATUS OF THE INSPECTION. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED WORK ON THE VEHICLE AND THAT IT WOULD PROBABLY BE AFTERNOON BEFORE THEY WOULD HAVE SOMEONE AVAILABLE TO DO THE WORK. SINCE HAD BEEN ASSURED BOTH WHEN MAKING THE APPOINTMENT AND AGAIN WHEN SHOWING UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT THAT THE INSPECTION WOULDN'T TAKE LONG, WE ASKED HER TO CONTACT WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER. MY WIFE OVERHEARD THE SERVICE MANAGER TELL OUR REP THAT SHE SHOULD TELL CUSTOMERS THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE DROPPED FOR AN ENTIRE DAY (ANY WARRANTY WORK, THAT IS). IT'S PRETTY CLEAR TO US THAT THE COLE DEALERSHIP COULD REALLY CARE LESS ABOUT THE CUSTOMER IN REGARDS TO RECALLS AND/OR WARRANTY WORK (LOWEST PRIORITY) AND WE LOST 1/2 DAY OF TIME AND GAS TO TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS. WE ASKED TO HAVE THE CAR BROUGHT TO US SINCE WE WERE LEAVING. OUR REP ASKED IF WE'D LIKE TO SETUP ANOTHER DATE FOR THE INSPECTION AND WE SAID NO! WE WASTED ENOUGH TIME AND MONEY AND WE WON'T BE TAKING OUR JEEP IN FOR THE RECALL INSPECTION TO ANY CHRYSLER DEALER. *TR
THE PAINT AND CLEAR COAT ON A $37,000 SUV IS COMING OFF, NOT DUE TO THE FACT THAT IS WAXED ONCE A WEEK, THIS IS A HUGE LET DOWN AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE EVER AGAIN. *CB

THERE IS A RECALL ON MY YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT THE MANUFACTURER SAYS MY CAR IS NOT. I THINK MY CAR SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THEY ARE RECALLING OTHER CARS OF MY YEAR MAKE AND MODE. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED IN THE SUMMARY. *AK

ENGINE CHECK LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING, WHICH INDICATES THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER REPLACED PARTS, BUT CANNOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE FRONT CHASSIS WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP AND WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER. THEIR ATTEMPTED FIX WAS FOR THEIR REPAIR SHOP TO 'TURN' THE FRONT ROTORS. THE NOISE REMAINS AND I AM SHOCKED THAT THE LIFE OF MY BRAKE ROTORS WERE SHORTENED AS AN ATTEMPTED FIX. I AM AFRAID TO TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK FOR THAT KIND OF REPAIR. THE TAILGATE WOULD NOT SECURELY LATCH AND WITHOUT A WORKING 'TELL-TALE' DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR, THE EXHAUST SMELL AND RATTELING NOISE WAS AN ALERT TO THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER TELLS ME THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TAKEN APART FOR THEM TO CORRECT THE LOOSE HINGE PROBLEM ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. I HAVE SERIOUS DOUBTS ABOUT THE REPAIR CAPABILITY OF THIS DEALERS REPAIR SHOP AND THE USEFULLNESS OF THE CHRYSLER WARRANTY. CAN YOU HELP?
