While driving on the highway, your moonroof glass spontaneously shattered and fell into the car, creating a serious distraction and safety hazard. You were at risk of physical injury from the falling glass and debris. The failure occurred with no warning beforehand, and you're aware of similar reports from other Hyundai Tucson owners. Fixing this will require inspection of the moonroof assembly and likely replacement of the glass panel and any associated tracks or seals.

Your sunroof suddenly shattered while driving, creating a loud explosion-like sound followed by glass breaking. Your 2023 Hyundai Tucson's wiring insulation may be damaged by rodents chewing through the soy-based and plant-derived biodegradable materials used in the wire housing. This has resulted in thousands of dollars in repair costs that are often not covered by warranty or insurance. The owner believes this is a design defect rather than owner negligence and is requesting investigation into whether this constitutes a safety issue warranting a recall. Repairs would involve replacing damaged wiring harnesses and wire insulation with rodent-resistant alternatives.

Your horn has failed twice—once at 67,000 miles and again at 100,000 miles—requiring two separate replacements at the dealership. You've experienced situations where you needed the horn to alert other drivers to unsafe lane changes, but it didn't work. The dealership mentioned many customers have reported similar horn failures and suggested you keep receipts for potential reimbursement, though no recall is currently in place.

Your car has twice accelerated on its own while you were stopped or idling in traffic, with the engine revving to nearly 8,000 RPM and lurching forward before you could brake. Stopping and restarting the car resolved the issue both times. No warning lights appeared on your dashboard, and the dealership hasn't been able to reproduce the problem during testing.

Your 2023 Tucson's windshield has developed pitting, chips, and cracks from normal highway driving without exposure to gravel or dirt roads. When a repair shop tried to fix one of the larger chips, the windshield cracked further, suggesting the glass may be defective or unusually fragile. The fine pitting across the windshield has reduced visibility noticeably. You may need to have the windshield replaced with a new one to restore visibility and safety.

While driving at 40 mph in dusk conditions with adequate following distance, you braked when the vehicle ahead began slowing for a red light. Your car continued forward despite your braking effort and appeared to accelerate instead, causing a collision. Your vehicle's forward collision warning system did not alert you or attempt to brake automatically, even though you were approaching the car ahead. The repair bill came to $6,645.90. You should have a mechanic inspect your braking system, forward collision avoidance sensors, and throttle control to determine why the brakes didn't respond and the car appeared to surge forward.

Your car's engine misfired on all four cylinders while you were driving, which caused damage to the catalytic converter and all four fuel injectors. The engine warning light came on briefly before the car stopped running completely, leaving you stranded. The fix will require replacing the catalytic converter and all four fuel injectors, and diagnosing the underlying cause of the misfires.

criticalSERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Jan 2026

Your car rolled backward down your driveway into the street twice, even after you put it in park — once without the parking brake engaged and once with it engaged. This suggests your parking brake or park mode may not be holding the vehicle securely on an incline. The issue could involve the parking brake system, transmission park lock mechanism, or related components that need inspection and repair.

CrashFiled: Jan 2026

Your vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own while you were pulling into a parking space, causing it to hit a support column and wall with extensive damage. The engine has revved unexpectedly on other occasions while driving, and no warning lights appeared before the incident. The dealer and manufacturer inspections found no mechanical cause, and the airbags did not deploy during the collision.

Filed: Dec 2025

Your car's electrical and computer systems are experiencing serious failures, with warning lights flashing in sequence before the car stops running completely. This has left you stranded twice—once in July 2025 and again in November 2025—and the repair has taken an extended period without a completion date. The issue appears to involve the lane departure and forward collision avoidance systems alongside broader electrical problems. Resolving this will likely require diagnostic computer scanning and potentially replacement of the main vehicle control modules or wiring harnesses.

CrashFiled: Nov 2025

Your car's rear collision avoidance system failed to alert you or apply automatic braking when you backed into another vehicle on a busy street, resulting in a serious crash. Your car's safety sensors showed 'no event' during diagnostics despite significant damage to both vehicles. The system also frequently triggers false alarms when backing out of your driveway even when there's no obstacle, but failed when you actually needed it. This likely requires a diagnostic scan of the rear camera, sensors, and the automatic emergency braking control module to identify why the system malfunctioned.

While parking at very low speed (5 mph or less), your car suddenly accelerated forward on its own without any warning lights or automatic braking intervention, causing you to hit a bush and metal fence. No warning alerts sounded and the emergency brake system did not activate. Your panoramic sunroof shattered suddenly while driving on the highway at 60 mph, making a loud noise and scattering glass into the cabin. Glass fragments remain trapped inside the headliner and continue to rattle, which is distracting and could injure you or your passengers if pieces fall through. The dealer replaced the sunroof under goodwill, but glass debris is still present in the vehicle structure. The repair will likely involve complete removal of remaining glass fragments from inside the headliner and inspection of the sunroof assembly.

Filed: Oct 2025

At only 6,500 miles, the rear passenger control arm carrier on your 2023 Hyundai Tucson cracked completely while parked, causing the control arm to fall off—with no accident or impact involved. This appears to be a manufacturing defect rather than wear and tear, and you're concerned this could happen to the other wheels as well, especially if it's a batch quality issue from the manufacturing period. Your dealer should inspect all four control arm carriers and suspension components to verify they meet safety standards, and Hyundai should evaluate whether this is a widespread defect affecting other vehicles.
