TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ESC, ABS, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHIMMY. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, WHICH CLEARED THE WARNING INDICATORS MOMENTARILY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. ATLANTIC DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (2330 US-1, ST AUGUSTINE, FL 32086, (904) 797-4383) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE LATERAL ACCELERATION DYNAMIC SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,736.

THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE AND IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 20 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING AND REPAIRING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 73,000.
