NHTSA Campaign: 25V595000
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner vehicles. Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.
Risk: An instrument panel display that does not show critical information can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Fix: Dealers will update the instrument panel software for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB08 and 25TA08. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB05 and 25LA05.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V744000
Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru Solterra vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. A software error may cause the rearview camera to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: A rearview camera that fails to display an image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the parking assist software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 2, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB13 and 25LB06. Subaru's number for this recall is WRE25.
Owner-Reported Issues (20 of 52)
Unknown Or Other →5 issues
While driving at 75 mph, you heard a loud explosion and pulled over, initially worried about a flat tire or damage. You found no visible damage or dashboard warnings, so you continued driving but noticed a whistling sound. You later discovered your sunroof had shattered for no apparent reason—you hadn't opened it in the nearly 3 months you've owned the car, and there were no nearby vehicles, overpasses, or trees that could have caused it. The sunroof glass will likely need to be replaced and the sunroof assembly inspected for defects.

The fix likely involves a software update or replacement of the display unit.

Electrical System →3 issues
Your 2025 RAV4 Hybrid's 12-volt battery drains completely even when the car isn't in use, making the vehicle unusable without charging the battery for 3-4 hours before each drive. This problem started about two weeks after you purchased the car and happens consistently. A mechanic will need to diagnose what's causing the electrical drain, which could involve checking for faulty components drawing power when the car is off.

Power Train,engine,fuel/propulsion System →2 issues
Your 2025 RAV4's Check Engine light is on permanently due to a fuel system switching valve and fuel tank pressure sensor failure. The dealer is refusing to repair it under warranty, and you're concerned the vehicle could lose power or stall while driving. Fixing this will likely involve replacing the faulty fuel tank pressure sensor and/or the switching valve in the fuel system.

Your 2025 RAV4's powertrain failed at 39,919 miles, well within the 60,000-mile warranty period. You report that Toyota's warranty claim handling appears designed to avoid resolution—including calls only after dealership hours and legal threats when you pursue your claim. You believe this violates federal warranty law and poses a safety concern.

Tires →2 issues
Your tire's sidewall cracked randomly while you were driving on the interstate at night, without hitting any debris or potholes that would explain the damage. The sidewall is the part of the tire between the tread and the rim, and cracks there can lead to tire failure. You'll likely need to replace the affected tire.

While driving on the interstate at 60 mph, you heard a loud noise followed by a thump. When you pulled over, you discovered that the sidewall of your tire had separated from the tread—a condition called delamination. This happened on your original equipment tires at just 5,343 miles. The tire will need to be replaced, and you may want to have a tire shop or Toyota dealer inspect it to determine the cause of the premature failure.

Steering,electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your car has shaken violently and shut off while idling twice — once in your driveway and once at a stoplight. When this happened, a warning appeared saying the engine stopped and steering power is low. This is a serious issue because you lose power steering while driving, which makes the car difficult to control.

Steering,lane Departure →1 issue
Your RAV4 randomly jerks or pulls to the left while you're driving straight, regardless of where you are in the lane. The jerking can range from gentle to violent, and it happens whether lane-keeping assistance and pre-collision warning are on or off. This has already pushed you across lane lines multiple times at speeds from 15 to 65 mph, creating a serious safety risk if another vehicle is nearby. The dealer performed an alignment without fixing it and now wants to charge $425 to recalibrate the forward camera, which might solve the problem but should be covered under warranty.

Vehicle Speed Control,service Brakes,engine →1 issue
Your car suddenly accelerated to a very high speed without control and crashed head-on into a guard rail, causing serious injuries to multiple occupants including broken ribs and whiplash. This happened shortly after a recall service was performed at the dealership. The crash involves potential failures in the speed control and braking systems that need immediate investigation.

Unknown Or Other, engine, back Over Prevention →1 issue
While slowly parking at 1-3 mph with your foot on the brake, your 2025 RAV4 suddenly accelerated on its own and hit a stone wall about 3 feet away. You were not pressing the gas pedal, and no warning lights appeared before the incident. The vehicle has only 3,500 miles and had no previous issues. Toyota is investigating the cause, which could involve the throttle control system, brake system interaction, or engine management computer.

Unknown Or Other,visibility/wiper →1 issue
Your windshield developed a stress fracture at the bottom edge where it meets the car's body, below the wipers. The crack is semi-circular in shape and wasn't caused by an object hitting the glass—dealer glass technicians confirmed it's a stress crack. Your car had less than 12,000 miles when this happened, but the dealer refused to cover it under warranty. The repair will likely involve full windshield replacement.

Visibility →1 issue
Your rear driver's side window suddenly shattered while driving at highway speed (60 MPH), accompanied by a loud bang. The dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the issue because there were no recalls available for your vehicle. The window may need to be replaced, and the cause of the spontaneous failure should be investigated.

Structure →1 issue
While driving your RAV4, you heard a loud bang noise and discovered the sunroof had shattered, even though it was closed at the time. You didn't see any external impact or damage that would have caused this. The sunroof may need to be completely replaced, which typically involves removing the old glass panel and installing a new one.

Back Over Prevention →1 issue
Your backup camera screen turns off randomly while you're driving, particularly when you're in reverse trying to use the camera. This has been happening since about a month after you purchased the car new, though your vehicle wasn't included in the existing recall for this issue. The problem occurs both while driving forward and when backing up. A technician will likely need to diagnose the backup camera system and infotainment display to identify whether the issue is a software glitch, electrical connection problem, or a faulty camera module.
