2017 Nissan Rogue Brakes Problems

The automatic braking system engaged four times randomly on 4/4 and 4/5/23 while driving on us hwy 70 in Nashville TN. There were no obstructions nearby when this occurred. Two of the incidents occurred while traveling approximately 45 to 50 MPH almost resulting in a rear end collision from the driver behind.

On 12/16/22 while going through an overpass on a expressway/thruway, my 2017 Nissan Rogue automatic emergency braking system suddenly, erroneously and dangerously activated. Vehicle sustained body damage in the course of the sudden, with no reason, defective AEB/FEB engagement. Vehicle was limped off of the expressway/thruway and I called 911 and Triple A for transport to the dealer.

The car even after reprogramming ICC/ ADAS radar is still having similar problems over again. The car when driving on an open road suddenly stops and stalls with a malfunction sign and a crash signal in the middle of highway. The car then does not starts and the above message prevents the RPM from increasing.

I was driving 5mph at a drive through Xmas light display. While slowly driving through the display, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward followed by the emergency braking system engaging. Which brought the car to a sudden stop in front of the cars following behind us.

I was driving down the highway at 50 miles an hour when suddenly my collision alarm started "beeping" and the brakes activated causing the vehicle to suddenly slow down, while making a grinding sound and caused the steering wheel to shake. There were no objects in front of me and thankfully there were no cars directly behind me, that could have struck my vehicle due to the sudden unexpected stop.

While driving at approximately 20mph, with no vehicle or obstruction in front of me, my rogue automatically braked, flashed a warning bar in the dash, and came to a complete stop while physically shaking and making a grinding noise. The car had engaged the automatic emergency braking system without cause.

On 11/22/020 while I was driving on the 605 freeway going about 65 miles an hour, my vehicle came to a sudden and unexpected stop. This is the third time the anti collision sensor malfunctioned. There were no vehicles in front of me and the dashboard warning was indicating a malfunction on the emergency breaking system.

Got into 5 accidents with this car everytime the saftey sheild engaged the last accident was last year feb of 2019 was driving down a hill in the snow the saftey sheild engaged and lost control of car heading into a daycare turned the wheel so hard I blew out the suspension called nissan corp they came to investage car and said it was not their fault.

I was driving around 40 MPH on a straight city street approaching a part of the road that dipped under a bridge. My car's emergency breaking engaged slowing my speed to about 20 MPH before the breaks released. Luckily there was nobody else on the road (behind me) and I did not panic.

Monterey window sticker states my vehicle has equipped forward emergency braking. This is supported by a 2017.5 rouge press kit release publication nissan media. This important safety function recently failed to apply the brakes and vehicle rear ended another car.

When driving the car in areas with uneven streets or street repairs plancks on ground either autimatic breaks would activate or car wouldn't slow down when breaks were hit. While driving on an unevenly paved road at about 30m/p/h the breaks were pressed & car did not slow down until it collided with another vehicle.

The chime sounded, the car stopped instantaneously & a malfunction screen came up on my dashboard. I was lucky there wasn't anyone behind me or I would have gotten rear ended.

Reference total brake failure; 8 issues already reported to NHTSA on the nissan rogue, involving 8 wrecks, 5 injuries, guess they are waiting for someone to be killed before addressing the situation.

The automatic braking system deploys at random resulting in near rear end collisions. The car has braked forcibly when driving over speed bumps, metal plates on the road, and railroad tracks. The dealer service department won't replace the detection system saying that can't "recreate" the problem.

In early 2018 the emergency braking system has twice fully engaged bringing the vehicle to a stop when no apparent obstruction or vehicle was observed. Fortunately both times nobody was behind me. The 1st incident occurred on a city surface street at night.

I was driving on a public road (speed limit 45), going about 45 MPH. When I was going through an intersection and had a green light, the emergency automatic braking system started engaging, beeping fist. There were no cars in or near the intersection.

On at least 5 different occasions the forward collision warning on our 2017 nissan rogues (we own two) has gone off for no apparent reason. Some were on a highway around 55mph, some were on residential roads around 25mph. If we ignore it and don't hit the brakes it ends up braking the car automatically.

My nissan brakes at a set of emergency lights outside a fire station. I reported it to nissan within a month of getting my car and was told they were looking in to it. The dealer thought I was making it up.

While driving across and particular set of inlaid railroad tracks, the rogue beeps at me and then slows down or sometimes stops due to the forward emergency brake (feb) feature. This happened multiple times before I figured out what was going on. I've taken the car to the dealership twice about this issue and they cannot figure out what is wrong.

Sunday january 28, 2018 a second totally unnecessary deployment again occurred, this time at @ 8:43 am.

My home caught fire march 24, originating at the car port where vehicle was parked. Neighbor witnessed bright white explosions taking place at the corner of the car port where vehicle was parked. My wife woke to the smoke alarm, and house was filled with toxic smoke.

The car starts beeping and the Red brake warning comes on. The beeping is continuous and at that point the brakes get stuck and stop working. My safety was compromised in that my car brakes failed while I was in traffic and I almost hit the Fedex truck in front of me.

My vehicle was in for recall R22A6 / 22V-549 for the brake booster power supply since the brakes felt spongy and there was a loud ringing sound so we look around a round out about the recall. After the recall repair, all brake codes cleared except C1111 – ABS Pump Motor Failure. The part is still on the vehicle and available for inspection. They told us it was not safe to drive because we have press hard on the brake for the vehicle to stop because the braking system may not function properly, especially during sudden braking or slippery conditions. Nissan has acknowledged the failure through the dealership’s diagnosis. Prior to the recall repair, multiple brake system warning lights were illuminated. Nissan already has an ABS actuator recall (NHTSA Recall 18V-601) on several models from the same years (Murano, Maxima, Pathfinder).

I was driving home from work and my car braked really hard without me touching the brake. The dash board light flashed a warning that was red and white and an alarm went off. This is available upon request.

Emergency braking system activated on the freeway at 40 MPH with no obstacle to trigger it. Vehicle ahead of me was at least 4 car lengths ahead. I brought it to the dealer who said it was a known calibration issue and repaired free of charge.

I was driving and the car made a loud beeping noise and stopped on it's own. It breaked and I had no control over the breaks or acceleration. The emergency break system went off.

I was pulling into a driveway in the city, and then aeb started to beep and then suddenly stopped the car (the brakes made a grinding noise, they stopped that hard). There was no obstruction in front of the sensor, and I was already applying the brake and going less than 10 MPH.

While driving at highway speed, the aeb activated for no apparent reason. After receiving a postcard notification from nissan for a "service" issue a few weeks later, we had the vehicle serviced. Unfortunately, even after the service, the aeb has activated 2 more times.

Monday, 04/15/2019 @ approximately 1000 hours cst, while driving e-bound on i274 (chicago) our vehicle's (2017 nissan rogue, AWD) braking system engaged (hard) on its own and the steering temporarily locked up. E-bound i274 traffic was congested and moving @ around 45 to 50 MPH. We were traveling @ a safe distance (estimate 3 car lengths) from the vehicle in front of us.

The vehicle was being driven toward a four lane intersection with traffic light control. As the vehicle approached the intersection and the red light, the brakes were applied and failed to engage. The brake pedal went to the floor and never slowed the vehicle.

I have a short commute to work downtown where I have to park in a parking structure. This friday morning the car was driving fine until I pulled into a parking space. As I tried to slowdown the vehicle into parking, the car did not stop.

I was drivin during the day with no one in front of me and all of a sudden the car was beeping, an alert flashed on the dash and my car skidded to a stop. The alert flashed so quickly I wasn’t able to see what it was and I had no control over my car. Fortunately no one was behind me.

The automatic emergency braking system activated when there was no hazard. it was a full on panic stop with ABS engaging. The event lasted about 2 seconds.

I was going up a hill and the breaks just automatically activated on their own. there was the beeping then it just happened. nothing in the road ahead of me it was all clear.

While driving on 86th street in Indianapolis, Indiana on a trip, my 2017 Nissan Rogue abruptly and suddenly stopped with no warning whatsoever. I was driving at approximately 30 to 35 miles per hour at the time. The engine remained operating once the vehicle stopped.

Pulling away from a traffic light and the car stopped by itself and the red e - brake light on dashboard came on

My car brakes locked up for no reason as I was driving. I’ve called Nissan they did a “reset” on the braking system while I was under warranty. The car continues to flash malfunction and front radar disabled.

Entering into a parking structure, coming up an incline. I hear a beep, and waring light comes on but disappears very quickly, I'm not able to see the icon. While coming up the incline and getting ready to make a right, the dashboard beeps again and the icon appears and disappeared.

My car wouldn't brake without a delay I thought my brakes were broke. I was driving down the highway. In the middle of the day.

Vehicle automatically brakes while driving on busy street. There was nothing around the vehicle for it to be doing that. I was pulling in my garage when it happened a 2nd time.

Emergency brakes lock up driving 55 miles per hour in the expressway, raining conditions almost can't write the history

Driving approximately 35mph and the cars automatic emergency brake system triggered, car came to a complete stop. Thankfully there were no other cars in front or behind me at the time. This was on a local residential road.

Emergency brake engaged suddenl, it has happened there different times while in motion. Twice while driving on the street and the last time pulling into my garage.

My 2017.5 nissan rogue hybrid emergency brake malfunction light has come on 2x. There was no need for the emergency brakes to be engaged. I was driving my car on the highway with no risk of hitting another object.

While driving steady @45mph the brakes applied fully, as if there was an emergency. No car in front. This was on a city 4 lane road with a 45mph speed limit.

Yesterday, whilst driving at 30 MPH the forward emergency braking system activated. No cars, pedestrians or objects were in front of vehicle. Road was level and car traveling straight.
