Your car's horn isn't making any sound when you press it on the steering wheel, even though the fuse isn't blown. This is a safety concern since you can't alert other drivers in an emergency. The horn itself is likely defective and will need to be replaced.

Your car has had a strong burning smell since you bought it, and the smell gets worse when you're driving. You're concerned it might be an electrical problem or another serious issue, and you've noticed other owners reporting the same problem. You want to know why this hasn't been addressed, especially given reports of other Kia Seltos models catching fire. A mechanic will need to inspect the electrical system, engine bay, and exhaust components to identify the source of the burning smell.

Your windshield cracked spontaneously while parked at work, with no prior damage visible. The crack spans half the windshield and requires full replacement at your expense due to your $1,000 deductible. You believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be covered by Kia, especially since other owners of this model year have reported similar issues. Addressing this will require a complete windshield replacement and possible claim review with Kia.

Your dashboard won't light up when the temperature is around freezing, making it impossible to see your speedometer, fuel gauge, or warning lights—a serious safety concern. The problem has occurred repeatedly since you bought the car in July 2024, but it stops happening during the drive to the dealership, preventing technicians from diagnosing it. The dealership has been unable to identify the issue when the dashboard is working normally. Fixing this will likely require diagnostic testing in cold conditions or replacement of the dashboard display module or its electrical connections.

When your car's stop-and-go feature restarts the engine, the instrument cluster and infotainment screen go black and reset for 10-15 seconds. This appears to be a power management issue that occurs during the automatic engine restart.

Your horn isn't producing any sound when you press the horn button, even after turning the vehicle off and restarting it. The problem started in 2023 and has persisted through multiple repair attempts, including a previous horn replacement, though the dealer couldn't identify the root cause. Fixing this may involve diagnosing the horn circuit, wiring, or related electrical components to find why the horn continues to fail.

Filed: Oct 2025

Your engine seized at 33,000 miles despite regular oil changes since purchase. The dealership identified melted spark plugs as the cause, but Kia refused to cover the failure under the 100,000-mile warranty. You were unable to pursue a lemon law claim because Kia did not provide repair documentation or invoices during the service period. Resolving this may require engine replacement or a warranty dispute resolution process.

Your engine is consuming oil very quickly between oil changes, and you're hearing noise that indicates low oil levels. The dealer tested your piston rings and said they're within normal specifications, but they're monitoring oil consumption over 1,000 miles to investigate further. According to the recall notice, severe oil consumption can potentially cause engine fire or catastrophic engine damage.

Your 2024 Kia Seltos shut down completely while driving in traffic without any warning, causing you to lose power while moving with passengers inside. The cause appears to be electrical or powertrain-related, and this created an immediate safety hazard. Your dealer will need to diagnose the electrical and powertrain systems to identify why the engine is shutting down unexpectedly.

CrashFiled: Jan 2026

Your lane-assist system suddenly pulled the steering wheel hard to the side when approaching an area with multiple lane markings in low-light conditions, causing you to lose control and drift toward a ditch. The system then went limp, and you couldn't correct in time before hitting a signpost and damaging your right headlight and fog light. You noticed that neither the lane-departure warning nor the forward-collision warning activated during this incident, despite these systems typically alerting you in other situations, and you've also experienced intermittent electrical issues since purchasing the vehicle. The steering and safety warning systems may need diagnostic testing and reprogramming to address the malfunction.

criticalPOWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Filed: Dec 2025

Your car's electrical system is shutting down unexpectedly while you're driving, causing the engine to turn off completely and the dashboard to go black — this has happened on the freeway at 70 mph and creates a dangerous loss of control. The car restarts after a few seconds, but the problem repeats. This issue involves the electrical control unit and requires immediate diagnosis to identify why power is being cut off.

Filed: Jul 2025

Your 2024 Kia Seltos has shut down unexpectedly twice — once while stopped at a red light and again while driving 55 mph on a busy highway, creating a dangerous situation. During the highway incident, you couldn't restart the car or turn it off despite having full electrical power and a good battery, and the dealership was unable to identify the cause when they couldn't reproduce the problem. Diagnosing and repairing this stalling issue may require extended testing and evaluation by the dealership, possibly involving electrical system diagnostics or steering/engine control module inspection.

CrashFiled: Jul 2025

Your car was in a serious front-end accident with severe damage, but the airbags did not deploy and the collision warning sensors did not activate, even though the engine was pushed significantly toward the driver. The insurance company totaled the vehicle. Your Kia Access app is only showing a critical error for the passenger turn signal, which suggests the safety system sensors may not have functioned properly during the crash.

Filed: Jun 2025

While driving at 30 mph and trying to accelerate, your engine suddenly lost power and then seized completely. Warning lights appeared on your dashboard. The dealer diagnosed an engine failure that required a complete engine replacement, which has not been performed. A few months before this failure, your fuel injectors and spark plugs had been replaced during service. The fix will require a full engine replacement.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your dashboard display goes completely black and stops working when temperatures drop significantly outside, making it impossible to see your speedometer, fuel level, or engine temperature. This is a safety concern since you can't monitor critical driving information. You've visited the dealership multiple times with video evidence, but they haven't been able to reproduce the issue to diagnose it. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the dashboard display circuit and connections for cold-weather failures, or replacing the instrument cluster if it's defective.

Filed: Jul 2025

Your front passenger seatbelt warning alarm keeps going off repeatedly even when no one is sitting in that seat, and it happens unpredictably while you're driving. The Kia dealership refused to inspect or repair it without charging you $180 upfront, despite your vehicle being under warranty, claiming they'll only waive the fee if they determine it's covered under warranty.

Filed: Jun 2025

Your rear view camera gets covered with raindrops when backing up in the rain, making it hard to see what's behind you. This obstruction appears specifically during wet weather when you need the camera most. Fixing this likely involves cleaning the camera lens, applying a water-repellent coating, or potentially replacing the camera housing with an improved design.

Filed: Nov 2025

Your driver's side seat stays warm constantly, even when you've removed the seat heater fuses and unplugged the seat warmer connections. The back seat cushion continues to stay warm despite these attempts to disable it. This likely requires diagnosis of the seat heating system's electrical circuit or replacement of a faulty heating element.
