2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Steering Problems

Driving, lost all power to steering, brakes and engine. Crossed over double yellow and narrowly escaped a collision with the guardrail. Had any car been in the opposite lane, I would have been severely injured.

The power steering and steering rack failed on the car while merging causing a near-fatal accident. Fca has acknowledged that this is a known issue that the steering racks leak and can fail but won't issue an open recall because NHTSA isn't forcing them too.

Drove car to shopping center noticed a oil smell when parking. When I returned to car to leave shopping center I had extreme difficulty turning steering wheel. I live very close from shopping center and very carefully with extreme difficulty drove car home.

Vehicle randomly brakes unintentionally for 5 to 10 seconds - engine and steering fail all at the same time. A loud collision warning along with red alert braking indicators. I informed a local dealership several months after purchase (summer 2015).

While driving my vehicle on the highway, the steering wheel locked up and it put itself into neutral. The ABS system notification and another light was active and my jeep stated my vehicle was going too fast for the gear it was in. The ABS breaking system bypassed the nss safety feature in my jeep causing me to go off the road as a I lost all control of the steering in my vehicle.

While in motion, vehicle lost all power; the engine stalled, brakes failed and lost power steering. The vehicle shifted into neutral. I put the vehicle back in drive and it went back to neutral.

On 9/26/2015 we were driving down our street and lost all ability to steer the truck. I called jeep roadside assistance and the truck was scheduled to be towed to the nearest jeep service center on 9/28/3015 - the truck was not drive-able.

While driving vehicle shuts off unexpectedly, with steering wheel losing power steering. It will then have trouble starting again. Turning on and off by itself.

Third steering rack in 4 years. Vehicle only has 40K miles on it. Each time there is a drop in power steering fluid and a leak identified in the power steering boot.

Service shifter keeps appearing, major world serviced and replaced the shifter but to no avail, it continues to state service shifter.

BRAKE SERVICE APT. DISCOVERED A LEAK IN THE STEERING COLUMN. LEAKING ONTO THE BOOT AND REQUIRING A FULL REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING SYSTEM. $2,000! 2015 JEEP GC. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE WITH JEEP GC'S DATING BACK TO THE EARLIER 2000 MODELS. THEY NEED TO RECALL THESE JEEPS AND GET THIS FIGURED OUT AS HYDROLIC FLUID USED IN STEERING IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE, CORROSIVE TO THE BOOTS AND PERVASIVE IN THESE SUVS!

TOOK MY JEEP IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH ENDS OF THE STEERING BOX ARE LEAKING WILL NEED REPAIR AT A COST OF NEARLY $2400.00. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I DISCOVERED HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM AS WELL AS A RECALL OF JEEP PRODUCTS IN 2011-2012 FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT RESULTED IN INJURIES TO DRIVERS AND FIRES IN VEHICLES. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS PRECEDENT FROM PRIOR MODEL YEARS THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED THROUGH A RECALL PROCESS BEFORE SOME GETS INJURED OR KILLED OR A VEHICLE CATCHES FIRE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR EVEN ADMITTED THAT THEY SEE A LOT OF THESE ISSUES WITH THE JEEP PRODUCT.

DRIVING OVER IMPERFECTIONS IN THE ROAD CAUSES THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE. THE FASTER WE TRAVEL THE FASTER & MORE SEVERE THE SHAKING. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY NUMEROUS SHOPS & ALL STEERING & SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.

DISCOVERED OIL LEAK IN MY GARAGE. DEALER CHECKED AND DISCOVER BOTH RADIATOR LEAK AND POWER STEERING LEAK. NO WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. DEAL REQUESTED TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS DRIVE. JEEP HAS LESS THAN 58500 MILES ON IT. *TR

My truck has 57,000 miles on it and the rack and pinion system is leaking fluid from both boots and needs replacing

The power steering rack has a slight leak, which was discovered shortly after the warranty had expired.

I took my car in for a routine oil change and was informed that the rack and pinion steering assembly was leaking power steering fluid and that my power steering fluid reservoir was nearly empty. My car has 80k miles on it. This appears to be a common complain amongst owners of my make and model vehicle.

DRIVING THE VEHICLE SPEED OVER 60 MILES IT SHAKES AND IT TREMBLES, AND THE SENSOR DRIVING BEERS OUT OF CONTROL

The vehicle radio/navigation system blacks out. System blacks on and off and when reset- navi udefined blinks on and off and system states it's in compromised for cyber security. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership 2x and will be dropping the car off tomorrow and leaving until they figure out what is wrong with it.

Less than 50,000 miles and told that the steering rack is leaking and that it needs to be replaced at a cost of $2600. This seems to be a common problem, why isn't there an official recall on this? This part, with normal commuter driving, should not fail at such low mileage

On december 13, 2018 we attempted to move our jeep from one parking space to another. Turning into the new space, the power steering went completely out making it extremely difficult to steer at all. The jeep was taken into the dealership, who told us the power steering pump would need replaced.

It's been since may 2018 with in/out visits to the dealership for a constant problem. My steering wheel wobbles over 70mph on my 2015 grand cherokee wk2 high altitude, all standard features. This started after 26k miles and now I have 39k miles.

1- surround sound is auto turn to stay on. When turn off no any effects. 2- some noise come in driver side from dash or engine room.

During a routine check of vehicle fluids, I discovered that the power steering reservoir was empty. The dealer said "power steering reservoir is low from factory and is topped off during service". I reported this to jeep customer assistance, but have not received a response.

Vehicle loses power steering intermittently. It's still under warranty and has been to three different dealers 5 times. It's presently at arrigo jeep in ft pierce fl and has been for over a week.

Apparent leak in the power steering on the drive rack. Very costly repair that needs fixed. Car just went over the manufacturers warranty.

I returned this jeep twice to dealer letting know that the transmission had a hard bang between shifting, they continue to say that this normal.the service manager says it because of the electronic system, I told them that I have driving for over forty years and have heard of such thing and this sounds more like a torque converter issue not a computer, needless to say they continue to say nothing is wrong.

My steering wheel electrical components don’t work including the windshield wipers.

I went in to have a routine oil change and found out that I needed to replace my rack and pinion. My jeep is a 2015 grand cherokee with less than 45,000 miles. The primary use of the vehicle is just getting back and forth to work and it has never been driven off of a paved road.

I had the electronic power steering module go out & also had to replace radiator after doing research I have seen 1,000 of other customers complain about the same issues and they not be covered by warranty due to basic warranty expired. If this is a common issue with the 2015 jeep grand cherokee why has this not been reviewed for recall??

While driving at a speed of 15 MPH on a city street the front passenger side control arm fractured, broke loose, ripped apart the wheel well and caused the car to pull to the right and brush against a parked car causing minor paint damage on the front bumper.
