After the wheel of my car started vibrating while turning as well as rolling back when on a slight incline, I decided to look the issue up and found other sonatas with the same year had a recall. While my VIN# did not have the recall does not mean the car was not part of the recall. After visiting a dealer, he determined the axle was indeed the issue and needed to be replaced.

Air intake was replaced 3x. 3rd time lead to turbo failure. Thompson hyundai replaces turbo but doesn't put antifreeze, tighten oil screw (which blew oil all over engine), and they didn't even test drive it.

Bought this car brand new and at 20,000 miles it all started to go down hill. My car shakes & stalls hesitates bad loss of power almost causing accidents on a daily basis. I would like to write about my experience with New Port Richey Hyundai. I have owned a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited since 2015. I take immaculate care of my car and it only has 65,000 miles.

Was driving with cruise control on and driving close to 70mph and the RPMs shot up passed 5 then the car jerked and my speed had went from 70 down to 50 and 40 the cruise controle turned off on its own and the car lost power but was still on but it just wouldn't drive passed 2 rpms and the check engine light was flashing so I turned around and headed the opposite direction so I could get the car off the road then it made this loud noise sounded like throwing metal inside a metal bladed fan and then the car shut off and hasn't started since.

While driving in city traffic, 45 MPH zone, my car suddenly lost power, engine RPMs dropped, engine off, power steering impaired, I had to drift into turnout and assess. Car restarted, and I could drive, but RPMs would not exceed 1700, car wouldn't shift gears, speed would not exceed about 15 MPH. No engine warning lights, no oil pressure indicator, no excess heat.

My car has been stalling, hesitating and sometimes I feel the engine shake when using the gas. I brought my car to the dealer to have the most recent recall fixed and asked them to diagnosed what else was going on with my car. They told me the stalling was just due to the recall.

Yesterday I took my car which had 30,852 miles on it to the dealer for the 30,000 mile maintenance. I was informed that there was a recall for an ecm & cluster software update that had to be performed. I was told nothing about the purpose of the update.

When I am driving car starts shaking a little I stop at a light and when I want to accelerate all of a sudden I step on gas and it wont drive I in middle of intersection it started shaking like it was going to turn off but didn't the check engine light came on but it never turned off I slowly accelerated and it kept driving I got to work turned it off when I turned back on the check engine light was no longer on .I have no idea what happened or why .

I have been keeping up with regular repairs and oil changes on my vehicle; so I was surprised when the oil light flashed once or twice in the past week, specifically when I took a turn tightly.

I was driving on the freeway and all the sudden the check engine light started flashing. At the same time the engine slowed down and would not accelerate past 60 MPH. I took the first freeway exit and drove to the nearest auto parts store.

The vehicle is slow to accelerate and as its accelerating it often will jerk or hesitate roughly. The vehicle's transmission seems to be slipping or something. As you begin to come to a stop, the vehicle bogs down and you can not accelerate. There is a long hesitation and then suddenly it kicks in and jars the car.

My Sonata Eco is a 2015 model with less than 46,000 miles. I take it for scheduled maintenance at least twice every year since I purchased it. The vehicle was experiencing stuttering, vibrations and lack of acceleration, most frequently when turning, moving uphill or early after startup. The stuttering would vary in it's intensity, from barely noticeable to strong enough to shake passengers. Sometimes when performing a turn, my car would not be able to accelerate, leaving me in the path of oncoming traffic until it would start working again. This would also occur when travelling uphill. No warning lights or other messages were given by the car. After taking it to the Hyundai dealership they informed me that my transmission was faulty and would require a full replacement. They specifically mentioned it was a mechanical issue with the dual clutch not engaging properly. All electronic/software in the vehicle was confirmed by the dealership to be up-to-date so this was purely a mechanical issue.

2015 sonata intermittent problem which involves loss of acceleration when taking off from a stop. One has the accelerator to the floor and vehicle goes to 10 to 12 miles/hour until it gets to about the 3rd or 4th gear. This car has done this 5-6 times since the 20th of May.

THE CAR STALLED WHILE ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING TO LEAVE SAN ANTONIO. THE CAR LEFT IN SAN ANTONIO TO BE FIXED FOR 30 DAYS. RETURNED TO SAN ANTONIO HYUNDAI REPLACED THE ENGINE DUE TO A FAULTY ENGINE. METAL FLAKES FOUND INSIDE ENGINE. I AM NOW BEING TOLD I NEED A TRANSMISSION LESS THAN 1 MONTH AFTER THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. HYUNDAI NOT HONORING THEIR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR HAS POWER HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC THAT RETURNED A CODE OF P0010 AND THEY REFERRED ME TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I WAS ALSO GIVEN A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN WITH A CAMPAIGN NUMBER OF 15-01-022-1. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALSO CAME BACK WITH THE SAME CODE. I HAVE PAID FOR THE PARTS AND DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY COULDN'T GIVE AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. HERE I AM TWO WEEKS LATER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP TO FOLLOW UP AND WAS TOLD BY THE PARTS DEPARTMENT THAT THEY CONTACTED HYUNDAI DIRECTLY AND THERE ARE 1800 OF THOSE PARTS ON BACK ORDER WITH AN ESTIMATED TIME OF BEING AT LEAST TWO MONTHS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. HYUNDAI ALSO STATED THAT THEY HAVE SUBMITTED A HIGH PRIORITY FOR THEM. I WILL BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG.

WHILE DRIVING OR IDLING THE ENGINE HAS ALWAYS MADE KNOCKING NOISES WOULD OFTEN HESITATE AND JERK ALSO OIL CONSUMPTION WAS EXCESSIVE FOR A NEW CAR. THE ENGINE SEEMED TO BE FAULTY FROM THE BEGINNING NOW IT SMOKES ,KNOCKS AND MISSES CONSTANTLY. I REPORTED TO DEALER THE PROBLEM THEY DID NOTHING TO REPAIR THE BAD ENGINE.

MY 2015 SONOTA HAS 92 K ON IT AND HAS HAD A LIFTER RATTLE FOR ABOUT THE LAST 5000 MILES TRIED USING HIGHER OCTANE FUEL WITH NO CHANGE RATTLES UPON ACCELERATION PLZ HELP ME WITH THIS

WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM TAILPIPE AND BEGAN TO LOSE ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. TOOK VEHICLE TO NEAREST AUTO PART RETAIL STORE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. ERROR CODE P0014 CAME UP ALONG WITH 2 OTHER CODES. TOOK VEHICLE TO AUTO REPAIR SHOP. ADVISED THE EXHAUST SOLONOID HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH SPARK PLUGS AND GASKETS DUE TO BURNING FROM THETA 2.0L TURBO OIL FEED LINE. CAR NOT DRIVABLE BACK TO HOUSTON WHERE I RESIDE. WE HAD TO FIND ADDITIONAL TIME TO STAY AT HOTEL AND WELL AS PAY FOR TRANSPORTATION BACK HOME. MY CAR IS STILL IN SAN ANTONIO. RECALL WAS REPAIRED LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO AND CAR NOW HAS THE SAME ISSUE.

My car engine was running fine but when I started it the next morning it started shaking real bad. Kind of a knocking noise like a rough idle.

I was driving to work friday 12-6 at approx. 7:24am and the check engine light comes on and flashing. I then pulled over to see what was wrong and I turned the car off and back on the car will then only accelerate to 10 MPH then slowly accelerate but will not go past 63.

My vehicle's dual-clutch system has been making loud, grinding noises while accelerating from a stop, or low speed (0-10 miles per hour). When this happens, I am not able to accelerate unless I slam the break on, and try to accelerate again. This has been dangerous when crossing intersections because the other drivers around are not anticipating a full stop.

On or about 3/15/2015, purchased a new 2015 hyundai sonata. Maintained oil changes in accordance with "normal maintenance schedule" as described in owner's manual. In 5/2019, while driving on a highway, vehicle began sputtering, knocking and engine light came on.

The vehicle has intermittently failed to engage in reverse. This is only remedied by shutting the car off and restarting it. There have also been intermittent incidents of severe hesitation when accelerating, surges in the tachometer at inappropriate times accompanied by the engine racing (with check engine light indicator on), and jolting accelerations.

I've noticed that putting my car in reverse is causing a hard shift into gear. Also, when you come to a stop, five seconds later it feels like someone is rear-ending the vehicle when there is no one there.

My engine is burning oil. I had to add 1.5 quarts between oil changes with only 50,000 miles on the motor. The hyundai dealership states nothing is wrong with my car.
