Open Safety Recalls (2)
NHTSA Campaign: 24V540000
Component: SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER ARM
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Prologue vehicles. The right front lower control arm may contain a manufacturing defect that can cause it to fracture.
Risk: A right front lower control arm fracture can cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the right front lower control arm as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PIY.
NHTSA Campaign: 26V112000
Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays," 111, "Rear Visibility," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles."
Risk: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Fix: Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed April 20, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are TNL and XNK. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 4, 2026.

Your car's CV joints are making loud clicking noises, which typically happens when these parts wear out or fail. The dealer has indicated that Honda will not cover this repair under warranty. Fixing this will likely involve replacing the CV axle assemblies or CV joint boots to eliminate the noise and restore proper function.

Unknown Or Other →2 issues
Your 2024 Honda Prologue has a safety recall (26V112) for instrument panel and rearview camera display failures. Your dealer started a software update from Android 12 to Android 14 to fix these known issues but stopped the update and won't complete it, leaving your vehicle on the outdated operating system. You've contacted Honda corporate without resolution and don't feel safe driving the vehicle. The repair involves completing the operating system update that the dealer started.

Your car is making a repetitive clicking or clunking noise when you turn, especially during light acceleration from a stop. This symptom suggests a problem with the front axle or CV joint that transfers power to your wheels. A failing CV joint can eventually cause loss of power to a wheel or complete drivetrain failure, which could affect your ability to control the vehicle safely. The dealer has already replaced parts once, but the noise continues. Fixing this typically involves replacing the CV axle assembly or CV joint.

Steering →2 issues
You're hearing a clicking noise from the steering system, particularly when turning the steering wheel to the left. You're concerned this could indicate a failing axle that might break while turning or during hard braking, potentially causing loss of control.

You're hearing noise from your CV axles (the shafts that connect your wheels to the transmission) when you turn the steering wheel left or right. This could indicate wear or damage to the CV joints or boots. A mechanic will likely need to inspect the axles and may recommend replacement or repair of the damaged CV joint components.

Electrical System, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car's dashboard and center console screens went completely black for over a minute while driving on the highway, leaving you unable to see your speed, cruise control status, or safety warnings like lane control and collision alerts. This is the second time this has happened — the first occurrence in December required a new radio module and software update that took 6 weeks to complete, but the problem has recurred. The issue likely requires diagnostic testing and possibly another software update or hardware replacement to permanently resolve the infotainment system malfunction.

Power Train,electrical System,structure →1 issue
Your 2024 Honda Prologue has experienced multiple serious problems: the 12V battery failed and won't start the vehicle, you hear an abnormal ratcheting or grinding noise when turning (suggesting a drivetrain or steering issue), and an interior component near the rearview mirror detached while driving. The vehicle has been at the dealership since February 21, 2026 (over 30 days) with poor communication about repair status and no confirmed completion date. Repairs may involve battery replacement, inspection of the drivetrain and steering system, and reattachment or replacement of the interior trim component.

Electrical System →1 issue
Your car's high voltage system warning has appeared twice in two weeks, and when this happens, your heating system stops working and blows cold air instead of heat. This suggests a problem with the electrical system that's affecting the HVAC. The issue will likely require diagnosis and repair of the high voltage system components or HVAC control modules.

Electrical System,service Brakes,engine →1 issue
Your car's high voltage system has triggered warning messages multiple times since early January 2026, and the brakes have engaged unexpectedly while driving because the car detected something that wasn't actually there — fortunately without causing a crash. Additionally, both CV joints are making loud clicking noises, and Honda dealerships are aware of this issue but currently have no solution. You have a dealership appointment scheduled to investigate the brake system and high voltage system again.

Steering,unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car makes rattling sounds when turning at slow speeds, especially to the right and left. The Honda dealership suspects it could be related to the drive shaft or CV joints, but they couldn't identify a specific loose or damaged part during inspection. The dealership has reported the issue to Honda and is waiting for manufacturer guidance, but the rattling noise has been gradually getting louder since the initial visit.

Suspension,power Train,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your 2024 Honda Prologue displays warning messages about the high voltage system while driving, causing your acceleration to drop significantly and disabling the one-pedal regenerative braking feature — forcing you to rely on manual braking instead. The warning includes dashboard symbols (an orange turtle, a red battery, and a red car with exclamation points) and clears after a few days but returns repeatedly. Additionally, your vehicle makes a loud knocking noise from the CV joints when accelerating with the wheel turned.

Power Train →1 issue
When you turn your car left or right, you hear and feel clicking and knocking noises that happen consistently in both sharp and wide turns. Multiple owners report this is related to axle and CV joint problems, and some have had these parts replaced by Honda, but dealerships may not identify the issue during inspection. While Honda says this isn't a safety risk, there's a potential for sudden failure of these parts. Fixing this will likely involve inspecting and replacing the CV joints and/or axles.

Steering,suspension,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your car is making loud clicking sounds from both front CV joints. The dealer acknowledges knowing about this problem but says there's nothing they can do and recommends limiting how much you drive the car. A CV joint repair or replacement will likely be needed to fix the clicking noise.

Steering,suspension →1 issue
Your car's CV axles (the shafts that connect your wheels to the transmission) are making clicking and popping noises. Honda has declined to repair this issue. This noise typically indicates worn CV joints that need replacement.

Suspension,power Train →1 issue
Your 2024 Honda Prologue makes an abnormal clicking sound while driving, especially when turning. The dealer confirmed the issue during a test drive and told you it's a common problem, but didn't provide details about what's causing it. Your vehicle is under warranty, but the dealer said the repair is waiting for approval and hasn't been completed yet. The fix will likely involve inspecting and replacing worn suspension or drivetrain components that are causing the clicking noise.

Steering,suspension,wheels →1 issue
Your front axle makes a clicking noise when you turn the steering wheel left or right. The noise started around 10,000 miles. This could indicate a worn or damaged CV joint that may need inspection or replacement.
