NHTSA Campaign: 06V270000
Component: EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES, THE OWNER'S MANUALS CONTAIN INCORRECT CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S (NHTSA) VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE.
Risk: THE LANGUAGE IN THE OWNER'S MANUALS IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS.
Fix: HONDA WILL SEND A POSTCARD TO DEALERS AND OWNERS WITH THE CORRECT NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE INFORMATION AND WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO INSERT THE CARD INTO THE "REPORTING SAFETY DEFECTS" SECTION OF THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 2, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009, ACURA AT 1-800-382-2238 OR HONDA MOTORCYCLES AT 1-866-784-1870.
NHTSA Campaign: 14E049000
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC (Delphi) is recalling certain replacement fuel pump modules, part number FG1155-11B1, sold for use in 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The affected fuel pump may send an incorrect fuel reading to the fuel gauge possibly causing the vehicle to run out of fuel. The fuel gauge will always read 3/4 full to full regardless of the actual level.
Risk: A vehicle that runs out of fuel and stalls has an increased risk of a crash.
Fix: Delphi has begun notifying dealers and distributors, and will replace the fuel pump modules, free of charge. Owners may contact Delphi customer service at 1-877-411-8770. Delphi's number for this recall is GL14-004.
NHTSA Campaign: 14V112000
Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey vehicles manufactured June 23, 2004, through September 4, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the fuel pump strainer cover may deteriorate allowing fuel to leak out.
Risk: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.
Fix: Parts to permanently repair the affected vehicles are not currently available. Honda will notify owners with an interim letter during May 2014. A second notice was mailed to owners October 6, 2014 when the remedy became available. Any vehicles that are currently leaking from the fuel pump cover will get a replacement, original cover. All vehicles, including those receiving the interim repair, will get an improved cover when they are available. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009. The recall numbers associated with this campaign are JD9 (inspection and/or preliminary part replacement) and JE0 (final parts replacement).
NHTSA Campaign: 10V504000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER
HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2007 ODYSSEY AND ACURA RL VEHICLES. BRAKE FLUID CONTAINING POLYMERS IS USED THAT ACTS AS A LUBRICANT FOR CERTAIN BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS. IF REPLACEMENT BRAKE FLUID IS USED THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN SUCH POLYMERS, OR THAT CONTAINS ONLY SMALL AMOUNTS, A PART OF THE RUBBER SEAL LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER MAY BECOME DRY, AND THE SEAL MAY CURL DURING MOVEMENT OF THE PISTON. IF THIS OCCURS, A SMALL AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID COULD SLOWLY LEAK FROM THE SEAL INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
Risk: A LEAK OF BRAKE FLUID COULD LEAD TO A CHANGE IN BRAKE PEDAL FEEL AND OVERTIME A DEGRADATION IN BRAKING PERFORMANCE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Fix: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING DECEMBER 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009.
Owner-Reported Issues (20 of 702)
Latches/locks/linkages →3 issues
Your rear sliding doors may unexpectedly open while driving, and once opened, they might not close properly. In some cases, the door may completely detach from the vehicle. The dealer confirmed this is a known issue with your model year, but the problem wasn't fixed. A repair would likely involve inspecting the door latch mechanism, hinges, and track system to determine what's causing the doors to fail to latch and close.

Your passenger-side sliding door won't lock securely when you close it. The door appears to have a mechanical failure, though the exact cause wasn't diagnosed. This could be a safety concern since the door won't stay properly latched while driving. A mechanic will need to inspect the door latch mechanism and linkage to determine what needs to be repaired or replaced.

Your rear passenger sliding door is stuck and won't open or close properly. When you try to close it, it gets stuck partway, and even with help from someone using the door master switch while pushing from outside, the door won't reopen once closed. This started happening at around 248,000 miles. The repair will likely involve inspecting and replacing the door latch mechanism, sliding track components, or the door master switch assembly.

Both automatic sliding doors on your van have come off their tracks and won't close properly. The doors are now only held in place by a single top track and a wire, which creates a safety hazard—if a door falls off while driving, it could cause an accident. The door guide system needs to be inspected and repaired to secure the doors back on their tracks.

Electrical System →2 issues
Your back doors are opening and closing on their own, and they've stopped responding to the power door controls. Your air conditioning is also turning on by itself without you requesting it. These issues suggest problems with the electrical system controlling both the door locks and climate control, which may require diagnostic work and potential replacement of faulty switches or control modules.

Vehicle Speed Control,service Brakes,engine →1 issue
Your 2006 Honda Odyssey has multiple serious problems that developed shortly after purchase. The engine makes loud roaring and crackling noises (especially when idling or in park), produces thick white smoke from under the hood, won't accelerate properly through intersections, the gear shift gets stuck in park, the brakes feel like they're failing despite multiple brake switch replacements, and the instrument cluster needle moves erratically. These issues likely require comprehensive engine diagnostics, transmission service, brake system inspection, and electrical system repair to address the noises and component failures.

Service Brakes →1 issue
When you braked at an intersection, your engine revved up after you released the accelerator pedal, and your brakes didn't stop the vehicle in time—you ended up in the middle of the intersection before stopping. This is a serious safety issue since you couldn't stop when you needed to. The problem likely involves either a faulty brake system component, an engine idle control issue, or both working together to prevent proper braking.

Structure,unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your power sliding door on the driver's side completely fell off while you were closing it after loading groceries, with no warning signs or sounds beforehand. The hinge at the back of the sliding door has plastic rollers that deteriorated from normal use. The door fell onto you, causing back and shoulder injuries, and you're concerned this could seriously injure a child. The repair will likely involve replacing the faulty hinge assembly and plastic rollers with new parts.

Tires →1 issue
Your tire tread has worn down low, and your tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light is on. When you tried to get the tires replaced at Honda dealers, you were told the tire model has been discontinued and the equipment to remove them wasn't available, so the vehicle wasn't repaired. You may need to find an independent tire shop that can remove and replace these tires, as they may be able to work with discontinued sizes.
