The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to stall and shake with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve was stuck in the open position and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed of an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
THROTTLE CONTROL/TRANSMISSION WRENCH SYMBOL LLUMINATES WHEN THE POWERTRAIN OR A AWD FAULT HAS BEEN DETECTED. IF THE INDICATOR STAYS ON OR CONTINUES TO COME ON, WHICH IT DOES. THEN CAR WILL CONTINUE TO RUN BUT JERKS AND LUNGES. PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR DOES ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING SAID CAR. THANK THE DEAR LORD I WAS NOT PULLING OUT ON U.S. 98 IN NAVARRE FL. I WAS STILL IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS ABLE TO CHUG MY WAY BACK HOME. TOMORROW, 06/22/2020 WILL BE HAVING CAR TOWED TO A PROFESSIONAL AND LICENSED MECHANIC. VEHICLE HAS SUFFICIENT FUEL, THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. AFTER MECHANIC HAS EVALUATED SITUATION I WILL HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT.
CAR SUDDENLY LOSES ENGINE POWER (HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SINCE APRIL 2019) AND ON THE HIGHWAY JUST STARTS COASTING RAPIDLY SLOWING DOWN (LIKE IT IS ONLY USING BATTERY POWER). A WARNING LIGHT ALSO COME ON (A RED TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE MIDDLE) WITH THE WORDS "STOP SAFELY NOW" (SEE IMAGE). IN THE 5 TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED, THE FIRST TIME WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN THE CITY, THE REMAINING TIMES WERE ALL AT 50-65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. EACH TIME, THERE WAS NO TURNING, BREAKING OR ACTIVATING ANY OTHER SYSTEM IN THE CAR (RADIO, CRUISE CONTROL ETC). IN EACH CASE, WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE CAR WAS RESTARTED WITHOUT ISSUE UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED (TYPICALLY EVERY 1-2 MONTHS EXCEPT THIS MONTH WHERE IT HAPPENED TWO DAYS IN A ROW).WHILE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM IS, THERE ARE DOZENS OF REPORTS FROM OTHERS REPORTING A SIMILAR PROBLEM, SOME OF WHICH THEY THOUGHT WAS RELATED TO A PROBLEM WITH THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE FEEDBACK SENSOR (DPFE) AT FAULT SOME OF TIME, AND INCORRECTLY MEASURING EXHAUST GAS RE-CIRCULATION (EGR) PRESSURE (REPAIR PAL WEBSIE FOR EXAMPLE). THE WEB IS FULL OF THESE COMPLAINTS BUT WHEN WE TOOK THE CAR TO FORD, THEY CLAIM THAT THIS HAS NEVER BEEN REPORTED BEFORE. THEY TOOK THE CAR AND DROVE IT FOR A FEW MILES, DIDN'T HAVE THE PROBLEM AND SO SAID THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. I DON'T WANT TO LET MY DAUGHTER DRIVE THE CARE ANYMORE BECAUSE I AM WORRIED OF HER HAVING AN ACCIDENT IF SHE IS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE CAR STOPS. INTERESTINGLY, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING IN FORD FUSIONS OF MULTIPLE MODEL YEARS SUGGESTING THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN DESIGN, PARTICULARLY SINCE SOME OF THE OCCURRENCES ARE BEING REPORTED IN NEWER MODEL YEARS.
VEHICLE STALLS OUT COMPLETELY AND STOPS RUNNING WHEN ENCOUNTERING STOPS OR LOW RPM'S.
CAR WILL STALL OUT AND GETS NO POWER PERIODICALLY. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ON INTERSTATE, ETC. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. WILL NOT SHOW A CODE WHEN TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP. HAVE ALREADY HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED, FRONT O2 SENSOR. CAR ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WAYNE FORD (444 US-46, WAYNE, NJ 07470, (973) 256-8800) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MOTOR STARTS SPUTTERING AND THEN DIES, I STOP, THEN I START IT UP AND ITS FINE -FOR A WHILE.
IN APRIL 2017 I HAD A RECALL ON THROTTLE BODY. I QUICKLY TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. ON 6/21/17 I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER HAVING CAR TOWED TO DEALER I AGAIN HAD THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED
DRIVING ON 6 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN I LOST POWER TO THE VEHICLE AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. GOT PUSHED TO THE DEALER THAT WAS A BLOCK AWAY. THE DEALER SAID THEY DID THEIR $129 TEST - NO FAULTS AND MY CAR WAS READY TO DRIVE HOME. I WASN'T GOING TO LEAVE UNTIL IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE WAS ANOTHER $129 TEST THAT THEY COULD DO. THIS TEST DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING BUT WHEN THE TECH WAS DRIVING IT STALLED ON HIM. THEY REPLACED THE PURGE VALVE ( FOR FREE, WASN'T CHARGED FOR EITHER TEST) BUT HE HOPED THAT THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. TWO DAYS LATER, HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON ANOTHER 6 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 30 MPH AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY VEHICLE BEHIND ME. I LET THE VEHICLE SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT WAS ROUGH STARTING BUT GOT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 24 HOURS AND THEY ARE "SCRATCHING" THEIR HEADS TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIWAY CAR STALLS AND COMPLETELY STOPS AND WON'T START FOR 5-10 MINUTES. FORD REPLACED THE ETB THROTTLE BODY IN SEPT 2016 AND CONTINUED TO STALL AND THEY REPLACED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE IN NOV. 2016 BOTH WERE RECALLS AND IT STALLED AGAIN. THEY SAID THEY CAN'T TELL WHATS WRONG NOW CAUSE IT WOULD NOT STALL WHILE THEY HAD IT. SO DANGEROUS! AND DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO NEXT. WONDER IF SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ERROR CODE IS P0452 - EVAP SYSTEM PRESSURE/PRESSURE FUEL TANK PRESSURE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND ANOTHER MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A LEAKY FUEL TANK AND CANISTER PURGE VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
OUR FORD FUSION CONTINUES TO STOP WORKING AT 45+ MPH. WE WILL BE DRIVING AND THE CAR BASICALLY STALLS, EXCEPT IT STILL HAS POWER AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. WE HAD A SAME PROBLEM BACK IN DECEMBER, BUT FORD WOULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NEVER ON. PREVIOUSLY, THE ONLY ERROR THE DEALERSHIP COULD PROVIDE WAS ERROR CODE P21111 AND STATED THE THROTTLE VALUE WAS STUCK OPEN. HERE WE ARE 3 MONTHS LATER AND IT IS WORSE. FORD HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THROTTLE VALUES, BUT FORD WONT FIX THE ISSUE. WE ARE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN AND REFUSE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE ISSUE IS FIXED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. WE WERE DRIVING 65MPH WHEN IT STALLED. THAT IS NOT SAFE!!!!!
RAPID UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION FOLLOWED BY SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. SPEED IS REDUCED TO UNDER 10 MPH, THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNS ON WHEN THIS OCCURS. POWER IS RESTORED AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK, IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, AND NEARLY RESULTED SERIOUS ACCIDENTS INVOLVING BOTH OUR VEHICLE AND VEHICLES BEHIND US TRYING TO AVOID OUR ALMOST STALLED VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT! THE CAR BEHIND US SWERVED IN FRONT OF A SEMI TRUCK WHICH NEARLY CAUSED A CHAIN REACTION CRASH IN 70 MPH TRAFFIC. THE SECOND VEHICLE, BEHIND THE ONE THAT CUT OFF THE SEMI, NEARLY REAR ENDED US AS WE LIMPED ALONG AT UNDER 10 MPH. IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER FROM THE CENTER LANE IN BOTH INSTANCES. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SAFETY NOTICE CONCERNING THIS DEFECT.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR IS 38 MONTHS OLD, 24,818 MILES. FUEL FILLER NECK CORRODED THROUGH. $800 REPAIR AS IT WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY
WHILE LEAVING MY PLACE OF WORK THIS AFTERNOON THE VEHICLE WENT INTO 'HOME MODE', DRASTICALLY REDUCING THE SPEED AND RESPONSE (NONE OR VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION AVAILABLE). I GOT OFF THE ROADWAY AND USED A WIRELESS SCANNER AND IT REPORTED NO DTC CODES, BUT AN ACCELERATOR ACTUATOR STUCK OPEN. AFTER REMOVING THE SCAN TOOL DONGLE AND TURNING KEY COMPLETELY OFF, IT ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE 45 MILES (MY DAILY ONE WAY COMMUTE) WITH NO ISSUES. I'M CERTAINLY CONCERNED OF THIS HAPPENING ON A BIGGER, FASTER HIGHWAY. AND, NO, I DIDN'T GET NO NOTICE BEFORE THE NO-RECALL RECALL HAPPENED.
ON AUGUST 12TH, 2015, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH IN THE CENTER LANE, ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STALLED AND I WAS NOT ABLE ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO QUICKLY COAST OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. ONCE I MADE IT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON AUG. 14TH AND 15TH, SAME SITUATION...DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 TO 70 MPH. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP YET.
WHILE SLOWING UP TO STOP AT INTERSECTION AND PULLING INTO DRIVE GAS GOES WIDE OPEN STICKING. BARELY COULD GET VEHICLE TO STOP. AFTER MAXIUM PEDAL PRESSURE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET VEHICLE STOPPED BEFORE WRECKING INTO RD AND OR HITTINGTHE CAR IN MY SISTERS DRIVE. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE HOME FROM SISTERS HOUSE TONIGHT. SHE WITNESSED THE INCIDENT AS A PASSENGER IN HER DRIVE. *TR
THE FUEL NOZZLE GOT STUCK IN THE CAPLESS SYSTEM. NOW I AM DRIVING WITH THE NOZZLE STUCK IN MY TANK NECK. I GOT THE FIRE DEPT TRYING TO REMOVE THE NOZZLE. IT IS REALLY UNSAFE DRIVING WITH THE NOZZLE AND THE CAP NOT PERFECTLY CLOSED. THERE ARE DOZENS OF COMPLAINT OUT THERE ON THE INTERNET AND I WONDER WHY FORD HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THAT. *TR

TRIP HOME FROM WORK, APPROX 45 MILES INTO MY TRIP, CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING 72 MPH AND STALLS, THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. I CANNOT ACCELERATE USING THE GAS PEDAL. PULL TO SHOULDER, CAR IDLES ROUGH. TURN OFF AND BACK ON. CONTINUED TRIP WITHOUT PROBLEM. NOV. 14. 2013: CAR TAKEN TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY CANNOT RETRIEVE ANY ERROR CODES. MENTION THROTTLE BODY BUT THEY DIDN'T SEE ANY NEED TO CHECK THIS BUT REPLACED A SUPPOSED DEAD BATTERY. NOV. 15, 2013: ON DRIVE BACK HOME FROM WORK, ABOUT 20 MILES INTO MY DRIVE, CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL AT SET AT 70 MPH STALLED AGAIN WITH WRENCH LIGHT. HAVE NO REACTION AT ALL WITH GAS ACCELERATOR. PULLED OVER TO STOP. CAR IDOLS ROUGH. TURNED AND BACK ON AGAIN. NOV. 15, 2013:STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. AS I WENT TO PRESS THE GAS TO MAKE THE LEFT HAND TURN, I NOTICED THAT MY CAR HAD DIED. THIS WAS A SECOND INSTANCE WITH MY CAR ON NOVEMBER 15TH. NOV. 20, 2013: ON DRIVE HOME , APPROX. 20 MILES OUT, CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL AT ABOUT 75 MPH, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS A CAR,THE CAR STALLED. AGAIN NO REACTION USING THE GAS PEDAL. HAD TO HIT BREAK TO GET BEHIND VEHICLE DUE TO INCOMING TRAFFIC. VERY BAD SITUATION. NOV. 22, 2013: IN AM APPROX 20 MILES FROM HOME HEADING TO WORK, NOT USING CRUISE CONTROL GOING APPROX. 70 MPH, CAR STALLS. NOV. 27: CAVENDER DEALERSHIP (SELMA,TX) ALSO WAS NOT ABLE TO GET AN ERROR CODE ON THE CAR BUT FOUND RESEARCH INFORMATION ON THE THROTTLE BODY ON 2012 FOR FUSIONS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS MY CAR. CAVENDAR DOES NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE PART AND IT NOT BEING THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. WE HAD NO INCIDENT TO OR FROM WITH THIS TRIP. NOV. 28: WE WERE EXACTLY 100 MILES INTO OUR TRIP, WHEN THE CAR STALLED. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH ON THE INTERSTATE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER. STARTED STALLING, ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO PULL OFF ON THE SHOULDER OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TURN OFF THE MOTOR. AFTER WAITING APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES, WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND CONTINUE DRIVING. WE DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT INCIDENT UNTIL TWO WEEKS LATER WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME AT ABOUT 35 MPH. AGAIN, AFTER WAITING 10-15 MINUTES, THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. THIS IS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE SINCE WE LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE A CAR IS A NECESSITY BUT IT IS ALSO A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD SINCE THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WHEN ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC, ON A BUSY MULTILANE, HIGH SPEED HIGHWAY. FROM READING THIS SITE, WE HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR AND WE QUESTION WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL OR, AT VERY LEAST, A CONSUMER ALERT. *TR

AFTER GETTING IT BACK HOME, IT SAT A LITTLE WHILE AND IT WAS GOOD TO GO. LABOR DAY I WAS ON INTERSTATE 85 IT DONE THE SAME THING TO ME, BUT I HAD TO CALL A WRECKER I WAS TO FAR AWAY FROM HOME. NOW EVERYONE WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE TESTING OF THE CAR TO DETERMAN WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. FORD NEED`S TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TOO MANY COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ THEM. !!!! FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY AT SPEED IN PASSING LANE THEN IT STARTED SHAKING WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON DASH. STOP SCROLLED IN THE INFO PANEL., AND DIED. I HAD TO PULL THRU TRAFFIC FROM RIGHT LANE TO LEFT LANE THEN TO THE SHOULDER WITH A VEHICLE NOT UNDER POWER. VERY SCARY MOMENT. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, AND WAS TOLD IT DID NOT STORE A CODE SO THEY COULDN'T GO ANY FARTHER WITH A REPAIR. TOOK CAR HOME, SAME SEQUENCE OF EVENTS HAPPED AGAIN, THIS TIME IN A INTERSECTION AND ANOTHER IN A COUNTY ROAD AT 45MPH. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP. NO CODES!. I TOLD THEM KEEP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT YOURSELF TILL IT HAPPENS WITH YOU, IT DID OF COURSE. WAS TOLD DID NOT STORE A CODE BUT THOUGHT TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY.
I STARTED MY CAR AS NORMAL AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. AFTER I HAD STARTED DRIVING MY VEHICLE HAD BEGAN TO SHAKE & THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WAITING A FEW MOMENTS AND TURNED BACK ON AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME I STARTED THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE WRENCH WERE LIT ON THE DASH. THE THIRD TIME I TURNED ON THE VEHICLE IT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE WITH WHAT FELT LIKE LIMITED POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE CODE PULLED FROM THE CARS COMPUTER READY P2111. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED. I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE "THROTTLE BODY" & HAVE ALL OF MY "FUEL INJECTORS" CLEANED. WHEN I ASKED FORD WHAT THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE WAS THEY SAID, "ITS BECAUSE OF THE PLACES YOU PUMP GAS LIKE WALMART BECAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS CHANGING WHO THEY PURCHASE FUEL FROM AND ITS NOT A GOOD QUALITY." (SERIOUSLY) THEY RECOMMEND GETTING GAS FROM RACETRAC OR QT INSTEAD OF WALMART. THE REPAIRS ARE TO COST $830 PARTS/LABOR. AFTER ALOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS MATTER I HAVE SEEN THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR VEHICLES & ALOT OF THEM ARE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED (FREEWAY DRIVING). THIS SITUATION NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP BEFORE ITS TAKES A INNOCENT LIFE. FORD NEEDS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE CAR STARTED LOOSING POWER ON THE INTERSTATE. THEN IT STOPPED COMPLETELY. AFTER PULLING OVER, IT STARTED AGAIN WHICH MADE ME THINK IT WAS A STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER. NO HARD CODES APPEARED AT THAT TIME. IT DID THE SAME THING SEVERAL TIMES LATER. ON ONE OCCASION IT STOPPED IN THE CITY AND I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR. FINALLY THIS WEEK A HARD CODE APPEARED WHICH SHOWED IT WAS THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR. THE MECHANIC WORKING ON THE CAR TRIED TO GET ONE FROM THE FORD DEALER BUT WAS TOLD THEY WERE ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER AND WOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AUGUST 7, 2013. *TR
HAPPEN TWICE IN ONE DAY WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 20 MPH WHEN THE CAR LOST SPEED AND WOULD NOT GO WHEN YOU WHEN YOU PUSHED THE GAS A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, THEN CALLED FORD THEY STATED THAT THEY HAVE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR. I TOOK MY CAR TO A MANIACAL SHOP, THEY HOOKED THE CAR UP TO A MACHINE WHICH SHOWED THAT MY THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM WAS STUCK OPEN, I THEN CONTACTED FORD AGAIN WITH THIS INFORMATION GOT A CASE NUMBER. I THEN ASKED IF THEY HAD THE PART AN WERE ABLE TO FIX IT THEY THEN ADVISED ME THAT THE PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND WOULD NOT BE UNTIL MID JULY (2013) TILL THEY COULD GET IT TO FIX MY CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, FUEL SPILLED OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,335. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
