There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the evaporator temperature sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 143,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated after a week of the vehicle not being driven, the battery was drained. The contact stated that the battery was new and should have not drained so soon. No warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Brakes failed while driving. Finally stopped after multiple attempts after pressing brakes to the floor. ABS, advancetrac, and ABS lights came up on dash while this was occurring (not prior). Dealer reproduced /confirmed concern. ABS module fix of $2750. Luckily I was driving slowly and no other cars, people, or animals were in the vicinity; otherwise, this could have resulted in injury/deaths.

The contact then stated that she attempted to operate the A/C unit, when she heard an abnormal sound inside the unit. The contact also stated that the unit failed to dispense cool air. Additionally, the contact stated that after the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to respond for five seconds. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that due to an unknown electrical failure, the A/C compressor needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage as approximately 120,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on several occasions, the instrument panel warning lights randomly illuminated and then failed. The contact then stated that when the instrument panel failed, the turn signals failed to operate. The contact then stated that the air conditioning unit failed and blew out heat. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,544.
AC does not work, the climate control module is the problem. when you switch the AC on it only blows heat. The fix would be a new climate control module.
Started car and began to back out of parking space. There had been a few drops of rain, but it wasn't actively raining at the time. Brake went to floor when driver went to slow down. Numerous dashboard lights and messages came on, including ABS, Traction Control, Traction Control Off, and "Service ADVANCETRAC" message. Driver stopped car with handbrake and shut car off. Tried several times to restart vehicle over the next 30 minutes, but lights remained on and brake remained soft. Finally restarted car and brake was normal, but lights remained on. All lights went on and car returned to normal when put in drive gear. This has happened about five times to two different drivers over the past 18 months. All but one time in rain, and twice while driving at 35 mph or so. We will plan to scrap or trade in the vehicle. Vehicle has been checked out by both an independent mechanic and Richmond Ford West, with no issues identified when examined.
Driving down the road when my car suddenly started to decelerate. It would not allow me to go any faster when pressing the gas. I had to pull over put my hazard lights on as cars were coming up on me. I pulled over turned my car off and waiting a few seconds, turned it back on and it was fine. However, I looked up what it could be and found the electronic throttle body could be the cause. Why hasn’t mine been fixed if Ford new about this. I’ve been in an had my oil change and my air bag recall and nobody has mentioned any of that.
On October 5th, 2021 around 6:20am, the brakes on my 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid failed to slow the car in any way. This event occurred while I was on the highway (M14) going ~65mph. Unable to conventionally stop, I was a crash hazard to those around me, and to the braking traffic in front of me. After being inspected by the Varsity Ford Dealership, I was told "the brake control unit is not actuating the valves in the hydraulic control unit" and that "there is a possibility that it will also need the hydraulic control unit as well." It has been at the dealership for the past 2 weeks and is available for inspection. There were no warning messages or signs prior to the brake failing. I received a warning sign at the point of failure, but by then I already knew the brakes did not work.
2012 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VARIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ELECTRONIC ISSUES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ISSUES INCLUDED THE SOUND SYSTEM, WINDOWS, THROTTLE SYSTEM, POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR WOULD FLASH. THE CONSUMER EXPRESSED DISSATISFACTION WITH THE CONSOLE DASHOBOARD FEATURES AND ACCESSIBILITY OF CLOCK CONTROLS.
TAIL LIGHT SOCKET MELTED AND BURNED. NOTICED BLINKER AND PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WERE NOT WORKING. PULLED OUT OF HOUSING AND SAW THE SOCKET WAS BURNT AND THE BULB WAS MELTED IN THE SOCKET.
DEFROST/AC/VENTS BLOW OUT HOT AIR REGARDLESS OF SETTINGS...FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE ONLINE AND AN EXPENSIVE PERMANENT FIX...VENTS/DEFROST/AC MAY BE TRICKED INTO WORKING IF LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON BEFORE STARTING (THINKS IT'S NIGHTTIME OR COVER UP LIGHT SENSOR ON DASH)
THE AIR CONDITIONER FAN BLOWER MOTOR FREEZES UP UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY STOPS WORKING. IT IS DOING IT AGAIN FOR THE 6TH TIME. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE IT EVERY 1-2 YEARS.
I WAS GETTING GAS AND I CUT MY CAR OFF WHEN I GOT BACK INTO MY CAR IT DID NOT START. I CONTINUED TO START IT. CAR WOULD NOT START. I POPPED THE HOOD AND TOUCHED THE BATTERY SOME AND TRIED STARTING THE CAR THE CAR STARTED THEN ABOUT 5 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT SUDDENLY CUTS OFF. THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE. CAR SUDDENLY STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF STREET ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS THAT CAN NEARLY KILL SOMEONE!!! VERY UNSAFE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY AND STREET. AND ITS SO RANDOM NO SIGNS JUST CUTS OFF AT ANY SPEED.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK AND INSIDE HANDLE WILL NOT OPEN DOOR. MUST PUT WINDOW DOWN AND REACH OUT SIDE TO OPEN DOOR. VERY APPREHENSIVE BECAUSE SOMETIMES I HAVE TO REPEAT THE UNLOCKING PROCESS BEFORE I CAN LET MYSELF OUT OF THE CAR. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, I HAD BEEN DRIVING AND THEN PARKED AT A BUSINESS PLACE. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR AND TO OUT, I HEARD A CLICK BUT THE HANDLE WOULD NOT RELEASE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE WIRING HARNESS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED AT A COST OF $3,000 HOWEVER, FAILED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
DRIVING LIKE NORMAL UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. THE RADIO SHUTS OFF, CHIMES DING LIKE IT DOES ON START UP, TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK, HORN DOES NOT WORK, AND CLIMATE CONTROLS DO NOT WORK. CAR IS STILL UNDER POWER, AND IT LASTS ANYWHERE FROM A FEW SECONDS TO ABOUT A MINUTE, THEN COMES BACK ON. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I'M IN CITY TRAFFIC OR ON THE INTERSTATE, WET OR DRY, HOT OR COLD, OR SMOOTH OR BUMPY ROAD SURFACE.

I OWN A 2012 FORD FUSION SE 6 CYLINDER THIS VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. MY PASSENGER SIDE RTAIL LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLOW AND THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED LAST WEEK WHEN I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I HAVE BEEN REPLACING THIS TAIL LIGHT EVERY SIX MONTHS FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND IT HAS CAUSED MELTING AROUND THE LIGHT SOCKET AND THE BULB IS CLEARLY BURNT. AFTER GOOGLING THIS ISSUE I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2012 FORD FUSION AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY OR I AM GOING TO THE PUBLIC. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2012. CURRENTLY, MY HORN DOES NOT WORK AS WELL AS OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF MY CAR. I WAS GOING 55 MILES AN HOUR ON BUSY STREET IN FLORIDA, ALL OF SUDDEN CAR WAS GETTING NO GAS, HAD TO PULL OVER, SHUT OFF CAR AND RESTART, THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, VERY SPURATIC, VERY DANGEROUS, HAD IT TOWED TO EXECUTIVE AUTO, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING, AND COULD NOT GET IT TO FAIL AGAIN. IF MY CAR SITS FOR MORE THAN THREE DAYS, THE BATTERY IS DEAD. I'VE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES (AT LEAST 5 OR MORE TIMES, NOW I JUST LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM, SINCE IT'S NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY). THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES. ALL THEY DID, IS RECHARGE THE BATTERY A FEW TIMES AND EVENTUALLY, REPLACED THE BATTERY. EVEN WITH THE NEWER BATTERY, IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM: DEAD BATTERY AFTER THREE DAYS. IF I CHARGE THE BATTERY UP TO 100%, TWENTY-FOUR HOURS LATER, THE % RATE HAS DROPPED ABOUT 35%, DOWN TO LEVEL OF 65-67%. IT'S DOWN THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR WHEN IT WAS NEW. *TR
ACCORDING TO FORD CAR NEEDS HCU UNIT AND ECU. JUST HAD THE CAR FULLY SERVICED AND NEW BRAKES ALL AROUND. TIRES ARE NEW AS WELL. FORD WANTS $3000 TO REPLACE THE HCU AND ECU AND DRAIN THE BRAKE FLUID. I THINK I'M GONNA HAVE TO SCRAP THE CAR.

THE RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V597000 (SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CSA15903459. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AND GOT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER INSPECTION THEY FOUND THE FUEL PUMP UNIT HOUSING CRACKED AND ELECTRICALLY SHORTED, BLOWING THE FUSE. BOTH THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUSE NEEDED REPLACED. CAR HAS 87K MILES. THIS COULD HAVE FAILED ANYWHERE ON THE ROAD
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 6/6/2018 AS OF TODAY 82/2018 MY AIR CONDITIONING HAS STOPPED WORKING 6 TIMES. THE WIRES UNDER THE DASH ARE EXTREMELY HOT AND THERE'S A "BURNING SMELL" COMING THROUGH MY VENTS. TONIGHT EVERY TIME I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON THE AIR CONDITIONING DIDN'T COME ON. THE WIRES THAT ARE CONNECTED TO THE BLOWER BOX APPARENTLY HAVE A SHORT ON IT. TAKATA RECALL I DRIVE 6 MILES TO WORK WHEN I GET HOME THE KEY IS SO HOT I CAN HARDLY TOUCH IT. THE KEY HOLE IS JUST AS HOT ?? JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM KEY SCALES FORD ON 7/14/2018.
MY CAR TAKES ABOUT 2 MINS TO START. THE GAS ACCELERATION GOES FROM NORMAL TO SLOW WHEN I'M DRIVING. I GO INTO REVERSE AND MY CAR STALLS AND JERKS REALLY HARD. WHEN I'M AT A STOPLIGHT OR A STOP SIGN MY CAR WILL ACT LIKE IT'S LOSING POWER AND THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON THEN DISAPPEAR DAYS LATER WITH NEW LIGHTS ON SUCH AS CHECK ENGINE DOORS OPEN ECT. THERE ARE TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY CAR WILL SLOW DOWN ON ITS OWN LIKE I HIT MY BREAKS. WHEN I WAS BACKING UP GOING IN REVERSE THE CAR JERKED AND I HIT SOMEONE HOWEVER IT WAS IN A PARKING LOT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I PUT THE CAR BACK IN DRIVE AFTER I HAD IT IN REVERSE FROM BACKING UP I BACKED UP AGAIN THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITHIN THE CAR ITSELF. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON AN INCLINE, OR THE ENGINE IS UNDER LOAAD, THE TEMPERATURE GAGUE GOES UP, BUT AS SOON AS I COME OUT OF IT, THE TEMPERATURE RETURNS TO NORMAL. I HAVE HAD IT TESTED AND IT IS NOT ACTUALLY OVERHEATING. HAVE A NEW WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, SENSOR AND RADIATOR. ALSO, THE CAR SYMBOL ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS ON AND ALL DOORS AND TRUNK ARE CLOSED. HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, THEY'VE DETERMINED IT IS ELECTRICAL AFTER THE "DIAGNOSTIC", BUT ARE STILL TROUBLE SHOOTING AFTER A WEEK TO DETERMINE THE EXACT CAUSE.
PURCHASED A 2012 FUSION SEL WITH 35XXX MILES IN FEB16. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2016, THE A/C BLOWER BEGAN TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY ' MANIPULATION OF THE WIRE HARNESS SUPPLYING POWER TO THE RESISTOR WOULD CAUSE THE BLOWER TO TURN ON/OFF. THE BLOWER ONLY RAN AT ONE SPEED (I.E. THE RESISTOR WAS BAD). THE BLOWER AND RESISTOR WERE REPLACED. THE ISSUE IS ONCE AGAIN OCCURRING AT ~80,000 MILES. THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED COMPLAINT (BLOWER PULL TOO MUCH CURRENT AND FRIES THE RESISTOR) WITH THIS VEHICLE AND, OFTENTIMES, FORD DEALERS ARE ONLY REPLACING/REPAIRING THE BLOWER AND RESISTOR. HOWEVER, IN MY EXPERIENCE (AND LIKELY MANY OTHERS), THE WIRE HARNESS ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AS CONTINUITY THROUGH THE WIRING IS ALSO AFFECTED WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST OCCURS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING. FURTHERMORE, THEIR DEALERSHIPS/SERVICE CENTER PERSONNEL ARE NOT ADEQUATELY EDUCATED ON HOW TO PERMANENTLY CORRECT THIS ISSUE (THIS IS EVIDENT BY THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT REFERENCE THE ISSUE RECURRING AFTER ONLY THE BLOWER MOTOR AND RESISTOR ARE REPLACED). THEY ARE CHARGING FUSION OWNERS $500+ TO PUT A TEMPORARY BAND AID ON AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE WELL UNDERSTOOD BY NOW.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT, DUE TO THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED, THE VIN WOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V597000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,300.
TAKATA RECALL...THEY STATE THEY HAVE NO REMEDY FOR THIS WHEN I PUT MY VIN# IN AT THE AIRBAGRECALL.COM SITE AND IT HAS BEEN ON RECALL SINCE JANUARY 2017. ALSO WE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR NOT UNLOCKING AND STUCK WHERE SOMEONE IN THE CAR WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT WITHOUT CLIMBING OUT THE WINDOW. HAD IT IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE RECALLED 2013 AND ABOVE FOR THIS VERY REASON. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THE 2012 FORD FUSION WAS NOT INCLUDED. WE HAD TO PAY $100 (WARRANTY DEDUCTIBLE) TO HAVE THEM FIX IT. I FEEL IF IT IS KNOWN ON OTHER MODEL YEARS THIS ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED.
MY POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ON MY CAR AND ADVANCE TRAC SERVICE CAME ON AND I ALREADY TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WORKED FOR A DAY AND STOPPED WORKING AGAIN
THIS CAR HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGES THAT ALSO PREVENTS THE AIR CONDITIONING AND RADIO WORKING PROPERLY PLUS CERTAIN EXTERNAL LIGHTS AND DIRECTIONAL LIGHTS AS WELL AS THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR. THIS IS GOING ON ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND THE GAUGES WILL "BLACK OUT" AS WELL SO YOU CANT SEE HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING OR OTHER FUNCTIONS. THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I DO HAVE SOME VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM I WILL ATTACH. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IF THE CAR IS SITTING OR IN MOTION. FOR SOME REASON I CANT POST THE VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF THE SAME ONES ON YOU TUBE.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE; I HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND FLIP THE OUTSIDE LATCH. I WAS THINKING THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENED IN AN EMERGENCY THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE "LEFT FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE". THEY SAID IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

THE BLOWER MOTOR HAS FAILED 3 TIMES ON MY 2012 FUSION. THE FIRST WAS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY IN 2013, THE SECOND WAS JUST OFF WARRANTY IN 2015, AND THE LAST TIME WAS MAY 27, 2016. THE BLOWER MOTOR FAILED ON THE DAY OF MY SON'S HS SENIOR PROM. WHILE SCHULTZ FORD PROVIDED PRIORITY SERVICE TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE IN 6 HOURS, IT COST ME OVER $700. THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM THAT FORD SHOULD REPAIR AS A RECALL. I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS WHEN I NEED THE AC IN THE LAST SPRING OF 2017.

I WAS IN NEW ORLEANS FOR A FAMILY REUNION. LEAVING THE REUNION MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAD A FRIEND TO CHECK IT AND POWER WASN'T GOING TO THE PUMP. WE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP ASSUMING THAT IT HAD WENT OUT AND CHANGE FUSES TOO. AFTER THAT THINKING THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK, WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN MORNING TRAFFIC GOING 45 TO 50 MPH. THE CAR STOPPED, I COULDN'T GIVE IT GAS OR ANYTHING. I HAD TO HURRY UP AND TURN A BLOCK AND SIT IN THE MIDDLE LANE. I TRIED TURNING THE KEY IT TURNED BUT DIDN'T START. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND BATTERY AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. I STAYED IN CAR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTED AGAIN. AFTER STARTING IT I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS OK I WAS WRONG. HAD TO WORK AND TRIED STARTING CAR IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD IT TOWED TO A AUTO PART PLACE TO GET DIAGNOSED AND THE RESULTS CAME BACK STATING IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOME AND HAD ANOTHER FUEL PUMP INSTALL AND IT CONTINUED DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD MY CAR TOWED BACK TO AUTO PART PLACE AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAR WOULD START BUT THE ELECTRIC WOULD STAY TO THE FUEL PUMP. PLEASE HELP!!! NOW I DON'T TRUST MY CAR ANYMORE.

AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THE WIRES AND CONNECTOR WERE SEVERELY MELTING AND FUSING TOGETHER AND WAS CAUSING IT TO TURN OFF. HAD TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS THIS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
I WAS UNABLE TO UNLATCH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FROM INSIDE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP NEITHER WITH ENGINE OFF NOR WITH KEY ON. I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION. THE LATCH NO LONGER WORKS FROM INSIDE.

MY SON NEEDED THE CAR FOR HIS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PROM SO I NEEDED TO PAY THE BILL ASAP.
DRIVER SEAT, HEATER GOT SUPER HOT TO THE POINT OF BURNING A FEW TIME, THEN STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER BY 68K MILES. BRAKES, RIGHT SIDE FRONT COMPLETELY WORE THRU OUTSIDE PAD ONLY BY 48K MILES, RIGHT REAR DID SAME THING BY 70K. IN BOTH INSTANCES ONLY ONE PAD WAS SHOT. WHY ONLY ONE PAD WEARING TO BACKING PLATE, LOOKS LIKE PADS NOT RELEASING. ELECTRICAL, ALL WINDOWS, INCLUDING MOON ROOF, OPEN BY THEMSELVES WHILE NOWHERE NEAR CAR AND IT'S LOCKED.

TOOK PICTURES OF THAT AREA UNDER DASH AND FOUND THE SAME THING. THE CONNECTOR TO THE AIR CONTROL RELAY IS MELTED. THE BLOWER FAN HAS QUIT WORKING. FORD DEALERSHIPS WANT 500.00 PLUS TO FIX THIS. I WOULD CALL THIS A SAFETY DEFECT. IT ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN TO CARS EQUIPPED WITH THE DUEL CONTROL AUTO CLIMATE. THIS INCIDENT DID NOT CAUSE A FUSE TO TRIP AND COULD LEAD TO A FIRE IN THE DASH. IT NOT UNCOMMON BECAUSE IT WAS QUICKLY AND EASILY FOUND ON YOUTUBE. FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT DENIED IS WAS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MAINTENANCE ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH MY CAR START TO STALL TO WHERE IM NOT ABLE TO GET ANY GAS. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. I WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND START THE CAR IN WHICH IT STARTS BACK UP. AS IM DRIVING MY CAR STALLED ON ME AT LEAST FIVE TIMES BEFORE MAKING IT HOME. I TOOK MY CAR TO A MECHANIC TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH I WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BOTTLE NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY TO SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK BUT IT ONLY LASTED A DAY UNTIL MY CAR STARTED TO STALL AGAIN ON ME AS I DROVE.

ON 10/5/2013, I HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE RESCUE TO JUMP START CAR. I TOOK VEHICLE TO ADVANCE AUTO ON 10/6/2013 TO TEST BATTERY. THE PRINTOUT RESULTS FOUND, INDICATOR LIGHT WAS YELLOW, COLD CRANKING AMPS 500 ON BATTERY, TEMPERATURE WAS TO HIGH AT 124DEGREES. ON 10/7/2013, CALL ROADSIDE RESCUE TO JUMPSTART VEHICLE. I LET THE VEHICLE IDLE FOR A BIT, HOPING TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY BACK TO FULL FUNCTION. ON 10/8/2013 CALLED ROADSIDE RESCUE TO JUMPSTART VEHICLE FOR THE 3RD TIME AND THEN DROVE TO FORD DEALERSHIP. WITH GREAT HESITATION, FORD REPLACED THE BATTERY. I HAD TO TELL THE TECHNICIAN TO LOOK AT THE BATTERY'S YELLOW LIGHT. *TR

AFTER WORK I STOPPED BY AUTOZONE TO BUY A REPLACEMENT BULB. I REMOVED THE SOCKET FROM THE LENS, AND NOTICED THAT THE BULB IS MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. THE BULB CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE SOCKET. I THEN CHECKED THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TAIL LIGHT BULB, AND THAT BULB IS ALSO MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I TOOK MY CAR TO ART HILL FORD DEALERSHIP (WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR), AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED ON MY WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE A TECHNICIAN LOOK AT IT. I ASKED TO HAVE A TECHNICIAN PLEASE LOOK AT IT NOW BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE VEHICLE SAFETY. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT START, JUMP, AND STALL TWO TIMES (ENOUGH TO GET ME OUT OF THE INTERSECTION). UPON ARRIVING THE DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES THAT WERE DISRUPTED. THE SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED FORD TECH LINE AND DROVE IT HOME FOR A FEW DAYS TO TRY TO ACTIVATE PROBLEM. COULD NOT ACTIVATE, CAR RETURNED WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO HAVE IT TOWED HERE AND DO NOT RESTART IT WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN.

PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT CAR OFF. I WAS TOO FAR FROM DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT TOWED AND WAS WORKING (I TRAVEL FOR MY JOB). CALLED DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN. ABLE TO RESTART IT AFTER 2-3 ATTEMPTS. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. NO CODE FOR NO START OR SHUT OFF BUT CODE FOR FUEL CANISTER. PROBLEM ADDRESSED, FIXED, AND CAR RETURNED TO ME. COULD NOT ACTIVATE, CAR RETURNED WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO 'HAVE IT TOWED HERE AND DO NOT RESTART IT WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN. THE OPEN WINDOWS AND MOON ROOF OCCURRED AGAIN THIS PAST WEEKEND AND BETWEEN GOOGLE AND THE OWNERS MANUAL, FOUND OUT THIS IS A "FEATURE" THAT HAPPENS IF THE UNLOCK KEY IS DEPRESSED FOR A SHORT TIME, AS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE KEY IS IN YOUR POCKET. THIS COULD GIVE ANYBODY ACCESS TO THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER WHICH WOULD PUT MY FAMILY AND HOUSE AT RISK, AS WELL AS THE CONTENTS OF THE VEHICLE. THIS FEATURE WAS NOT DISCLOSED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND IT CAN ONLY BE DISABLED BY THE DEALER. *TT
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN TORRANCE CA AT 65 MPH WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO BUCK AND JERK AND SLOWED TO ABOUT 30 MPH. IT WOULD NOT TAKE ANY MORE POWER OR ACCELERATION. I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO EXIT AND PARK AND I THEN NOTED THE TEMP GAUGE SHOWED HOT ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE DID NOT APPEAR HOT. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY TEMP SENSOR THAT SHOWED THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND CAUSIG THE ENGINE TO GO INTO THE PARTIAL SHUT-DOWN MODE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OFTEN ENOUGH THAT FORD HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THE PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER IF I HAD STILL BEEN IN THE LEFT OR DIAMOND LANE SO THERE SHOULD BE A MANUFACTURER RECALL TO HAVE THESE PARTS CHECKED OUT. APPARENTLY SOME ARE CORRODED. *TR
