2017 Ford Explorer Wheels Problems

While driving on the freeway, I heard a clunking noise from the rear of my vehicle and immediately started to fishtail violently back and forth across all 3 lanes of the highway narrowly avoiding crashing into other cars on the highway while avoiding spinning or flipping the vehicle.

Purchased 2017 ford explorer december 2017 with original hankook ventus s1 noble2 255/50r20 105h tires. Have 17,000 miles and have been rotated at each oil change; been having extreme treadwear and was told by the authorized dealer that ithe tires are bad and need replaced. Dealer suggested to contact hankook directly because others have experienced similar issues.

The vehicle in question is a 2017 ford explorer with hankook ventus s1noble2 front tires that are shredding both on the interior and exterior parameter of the tires. The delamination is migrating towards the center of the tire as well with flaps and chunks of rubber some over 10mm are separating from the substrate. The tires only have 27,000 miles on them and look like they have 50,000+.

Ford explorers, such as mine, are equipped from the factory with defective and potentially dangerous hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires, acknowledged by the tire manufacturer hankook. This type of tire provided by ford and hankook have known issues with their construction and durability which not only is a significant concern for the health, safety, and welfare of owners such as myself.

While driving the vehicle at approximately 20 MPH a loud noise was heard and the left rear tire rapidly deflated. Installed the factory spare tire. Noted a 2" long slice across the tread of the tire.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to change the tires on the vehicle and was unable to remove the lug nuts. The contact stated that the lug nuts on all four wheels were swollen.

Rear toe links, rear alignment is off. Dealership said they can’t fix it. My tires are wearing incredibly fast.

Rear brake calipers seized and wore brake pads all the way down. Slight intermittent sound was noticed when car was in motion but thought it may be related to the roof rack detachment that was pending repair. Squealing became persistent and stopped upon breaking, and started again after brake released.

Took my vehicle to the dealer for tire problem. They informed me that I need all tires replaced. This vehicle has 27000 miles on it.

I recently failed ny state inspection due to premature tire wear on my ford explorer 2017 with 24,500 miles. I took my vehicle in for service at landers ford in collierville, tn on 6/11/2019 because I had a slow leak in one of my tires and needed an oil change. The technician who completed the services told me that I need new tires. I questioned this because the tires only had 28,222 miles on them.

I went to flood ford dealership for an oil change and was advised my hankook tires were wearing rapidly and would need to be replaced soon. The service advisor stated that there have been a lot of problems with these certain tires.

Re:hankook ventus s1 noble 2 255/50r20 105h-on 01/20/18, I was advised by a new friend to have my tires checked out. He noticed the pieces of tire chipping off and was concerned for my safety. The following week, I took my car to olin mott, a longtime & reputable area tire store.

Went to dealer for routine maintenance and dealer indicated I need immediate tire replacement of all 4 tires because the tread is flaking off! The vehicle was parked in the service bay drive. There are visible signs of tread separations and gouges in the tires.

Hankook ventus s1 noble2 tires have large chunks coming off the tread at 9,300 miles (reported to dealer); condition got worse at 12,000miles (reported to dealership again); condition continues to get worse at 14,000 miles (car left at dealership for tires to be sent to hankook)

It has been just over 1 year driving this vehicle, 8115 miles currently. A few days ago while walking around my car, I noticed chipping, cracking, & peeling away of the tread on my tires. It does not look normal and not too sure if it is safe to continue to drive.

Hankook ventus s1 nobel 2 size 255/50r20 105h dot 5mnc 1a h 1916 these tires have 16,940 miles (13 months since bought it) on them and came oem on 2017 ford explorer. The tire tread is peeling and shredding. Premature wear.

The subject vehicle has approximately 12,200 miles on oem supplied hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires. Size 255/50r20. Tread is peeling off and premature wear.

The right front passenger tire fell off while driving.

While driving on a straight street 25-35 MPH july 30, 2020, on a sunny day,my car right passenger tire came off. On a city street. Causing my car to hit the curb.

Last night one of my hankook s1 noble on my 2017 ford explorer blew out while driving on the 405 freeway and required me to pull over and change the tire. At 21,000 miles on the vehicle/ tires the mechanic shop told me the tires were basically bald and had rubber evenly eroding (which indicates not an alignment issue). The tires were also rotated and supposed to last 50,000 miles.

My 2017 ford explorer has 19,000 miles on it and has been maintained well. It was outfitted with hankook ventus s1 nobles 255/50r20 tires when we purchased it new in dec 2017. The tread has worn down to 4/32nds and is disintegrating-you can peel little bits of rubber off of them.

We noticed severe premature tire wear on the factory tires on our 2017 ford explorer. The SUV came with hankook 255/50r20 105h ventus s1 noble 2 tires which started showing signs of premature wear within 15,000 miles. Now one is completely bald at 33,042 miles and the others are peeling/cracking.

I have a 2017 ford explorer with 5500 miles and noticed the tires are having uneven wear they are hankook ventus s1 noble 2 in 255/50/20 5mn1ah 1316 this is a known issue and these should be covered under the factory/ tire warranty as it states from 1 mile to 12k miles it is covered 100% in the manual and hankook wants to pro rate the tires for a defect that is caused my the manufacturing process shame on them
