Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Ram ProMaster and 2019-2020 Dodge Journey vehicles. Cracks in the microprocessor may cause the vehicle's rearview camera image not to display properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility.

Risk: A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning September 30, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 59C.

Your backup camera is upside down and difficult to see, which has made backing up dangerous — you've nearly hit other cars and parking poles. Your vehicle was recalled in August 2025 for this issue, but the dealership has been unable to complete the repair for several months due to parts being out of stock. Getting the backup camera replaced or repositioned should resolve the visibility and safety issue.

Your 2020 Dodge Journey's rearview camera stopped working and wasn't showing a proper image, so you installed an aftermarket replacement. Dodge has issued a recall (59C) for this exact problem, but the dealer told you there's no official fix available yet. Because of the open recall, your car was removed from the Turo car-sharing platform, and you're asking for either an official repair or an inspection to confirm your replacement camera is working properly. The fix will likely involve either an official camera replacement from Dodge or a software update once it becomes available.

Your rearview camera display appears upside-down on the screen. This is a visual issue that makes it harder to see what's behind your vehicle when backing up. The fix will likely involve recalibrating the camera or adjusting its settings through the infotainment system, or potentially replacing the camera unit if it's physically misaligned.

Your backup camera display goes black and shows a blocked camera icon, then flickers on and off randomly—sometimes showing the image right-side up, sometimes upside down. When the image does appear, there are lines running through it, and it's currently stuck displaying upside down. This likely requires replacing the backup camera unit or checking the camera wiring and connectors.

While driving your 2020 Dodge Journey at 10 mph, you noticed an abnormal noise and your Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) warning light came on. Another driver alerted you to a fire starting under the front driver's side of the vehicle. You safely stopped and exited, but the fire spread and destroyed the front of the vehicle before firefighters extinguished it. The vehicle was totaled, though you were not injured.

Your car's electrical system is experiencing intermittent problems where the radio cuts in and out, and the AC/heat cycles on and off without your control—even turning back on after you've shut it off. You've also noticed your headlights dimming and brightening while driving at night, and this issue has gotten worse since you purchased the car in 2024. This suggests a potential problem with the electrical power distribution, possibly a failing alternator, loose battery connection, or faulty wiring. A diagnostic test and inspection of the charging system and electrical connections will be needed to identify and repair the root cause.

Your car's audio system has several issues: the left speaker by the driver's seat cuts in and out during playback, the radio volume changes randomly on its own, and Bluetooth won't connect. Additionally, your door alarm goes off randomly, the backup camera displays upside down and beeps constantly when in reverse, and Sinus X (voice control) doesn't work. These problems likely stem from electrical or software issues in your infotainment system. A dealer may need to reprogram or replace the head unit and backup camera.

Your rear-view camera is malfunctioning—the image occasionally appears upside down or rolls across the screen. There's a recall (Campaign 25V552000) to address this issue, but your dealer has told you the replacement part isn't currently available. You've been waiting longer than you'd expect for the recall repair to be completed. The problem started around 43,000 miles.

Your rear-view camera display is showing an upside-down or blank image, making it difficult to see behind your vehicle when backing up. This is a known issue covered under a safety recall, but the replacement parts are currently on backorder and not yet available from the manufacturer. Getting this fixed will likely involve the dealer replacing the camera module or its wiring/connector when parts become available.

Your 2020 Dodge Journey is part of a safety recall (25V552000) for the back-over prevention system, but the replacement parts aren't yet available from the manufacturer. You've been waiting longer than seems reasonable for the repair to be completed, and your dealer has confirmed the parts are still unavailable. You haven't experienced any actual failure of this system yet. The fix will involve installing updated back-over prevention components once they become available.

Filed: Jan 2026

Your engine thermostat has failed twice in your 2020 Dodge Journey, even after being replaced the first time. Each failure caused abnormal engine temperature readings and warning lights, and created a risk of engine overheating, sudden shutdown, and loss of power — especially dangerous at highway speeds. Since a thermostat shouldn't need multiple replacements this early in the vehicle's life, this suggests a potential design or manufacturing problem that may affect other vehicles with the same part.

Filed: Nov 2025

While driving your 2020 Dodge Journey, the engine suddenly lost power and your check engine light came on. The dealer found that your engine may have overheated because it had no antifreeze, which can cause severe engine damage. The dealer indicated your engine would need to be replaced to fix this problem.

While driving on the highway at 70 mph, your engine suddenly stalled without warning and wouldn't restart. Steam came from under the hood, and you found fluid leaking everywhere when you checked. The engine light came on and the dashboard went dark, but you had no warning that this was about to happen. This sudden stall created a dangerous situation on the roadside.

While driving at highway speed, your 2020 Dodge Journey suddenly lost power and stalled, with the check engine light coming on. When you tried to restart it on the roadside, the engine wouldn't turn over, and you noticed condensation covering the engine. A dealer diagnosed that a faulty radiator hose and cap allowed coolant to leak, which caused your engine to seize and need replacement.

Your car's door locking system is malfunctioning in multiple ways: your key fob intermittently fails to lock or unlock the doors, the interior lock/unlock buttons on both front seats don't work, the rear passenger doors won't unlock from inside or outside, and the back hatch stays unlocked. Additionally, your doors no longer automatically lock while driving, which means your children currently cannot safely access the rear doors. The repair will likely involve diagnosing and replacing faulty door lock actuators, the key fob receiver module, or related electrical wiring in the locking system.

Your backup camera either won't display or shows an upside-down image on the rearview mirror, making it hard to see when reversing. You're also experiencing multiple electrical issues including Bluetooth and cruise control malfunctions, volume increasing on its own, a persistent check engine light related to a fuel cap seal problem that keeps returning despite replacements, and a non-functioning hands-free calling system on the steering wheel. The check engine light may be linked to a small fuel leak from the fuel injection system tank. These issues will likely require diagnosis and repair of the camera connection, electrical system components, fuel system leak, and steering wheel controls.

Your car may have experienced a sudden loss of power to the engine while driving, with the transmission unable to engage properly in either drive or reverse. The dealership discovered that your ABS (anti-lock braking) module may have malfunctioned, which is preventing the vehicle's computer from reading transmission sensors and diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately, the ABS module is discontinued and unavailable, leaving you without a vehicle while the dealership works on sourcing a replacement and performing necessary repairs and reprogramming.

Your passenger side headlight has moisture trapped inside it, causing the light to be dimmer at night. Even though the headlight is sealed, water has gotten in, which shouldn't happen in a properly functioning headlight. This problem started when your car had only 23,000 miles.
