While driving your 2020 Dodge Journey at 10 mph, you noticed an abnormal noise and your Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) warning light came on. Another driver alerted you to a fire starting under the front driver's side of the vehicle. You safely stopped and exited, but the fire spread and destroyed the front of the vehicle before firefighters extinguished it. The vehicle was totaled, though you were not injured.

You received recall notices about a year ago but the required parts remain unavailable at local dealers, leaving you unable to get the issue fixed for over two years. Your vehicle has an electrical system or wiper visibility problem that Dodge has identified as a recall issue, but the repair parts haven't been stocked yet. Getting this fixed will require the dealer to install the recalled parts once they become available.

Your dashboard controls are sometimes unresponsive — when you turn the air conditioning or heat off, it turns itself back on automatically. In some cases, none of the buttons on your dashboard will respond to any commands, preventing you from controlling the radio, air conditioning, heating, or other functions.

Your car's door locking system is malfunctioning in multiple ways: your key fob intermittently fails to lock or unlock the doors, the interior lock/unlock buttons on both front seats don't work, the rear passenger doors won't unlock from inside or outside, and the back hatch stays unlocked. Additionally, your doors no longer automatically lock while driving, which means your children currently cannot safely access the rear doors. The repair will likely involve diagnosing and replacing faulty door lock actuators, the key fob receiver module, or related electrical wiring in the locking system.

Your car's electrical system is experiencing intermittent problems where the radio cuts in and out, and the AC/heat cycles on and off without your control—even turning back on after you've shut it off. You've also noticed your headlights dimming and brightening while driving at night, and this issue has gotten worse since you purchased the car in 2024. This suggests a potential problem with the electrical power distribution, possibly a failing alternator, loose battery connection, or faulty wiring. A diagnostic test and inspection of the charging system and electrical connections will be needed to identify and repair the root cause.

Your backup camera either won't display or shows an upside-down image on the rearview mirror, making it hard to see when reversing. You're also experiencing multiple electrical issues including Bluetooth and cruise control malfunctions, volume increasing on its own, a persistent check engine light related to a fuel cap seal problem that keeps returning despite replacements, and a non-functioning hands-free calling system on the steering wheel. The check engine light may be linked to a small fuel leak from the fuel injection system tank. These issues will likely require diagnosis and repair of the camera connection, electrical system components, fuel system leak, and steering wheel controls.

Your car's audio system has several issues: the left speaker by the driver's seat cuts in and out during playback, the radio volume changes randomly on its own, and Bluetooth won't connect. Additionally, your door alarm goes off randomly, the backup camera displays upside down and beeps constantly when in reverse, and Sinus X (voice control) doesn't work. These problems likely stem from electrical or software issues in your infotainment system. A dealer may need to reprogram or replace the head unit and backup camera.

I purchased my 2020 Dodge Journey brand new. About 2 years ago the back up camera view flipped upside down. I took it to the dealership where I was told it wasn’t covered on a warranty and it would be close to $800 to replace. They said it has to be replaced and cannot just be fixed. After doing a lot of research online about this it seems like a very, very common problem. This should absolutely be a recall.

I purchased my 2020 in April of 2021 brand new. When I’m driving my SUV, it will stall and not pick up speed, but my RPM still rise. Both of my front headlights fog all the time and have been replaced multiple times. The fog makes the lightbulbs blow and they have been replaced multiple times. The back up camera is turns upside down stops working when it wants to goes black and also has a green light. It was replaced by the dealership and started doing the same things again after one month. There is also an issue with my radio. It works when it once the volume stops working when he wants and the Bluetooth works when he wants it has also been replaced by the dealership and now they won’t replace it again because it has been replaced.

Since I have owned this vehicle, the wiring for the backup camera has been wrong since purchase. The image is fuzzy, sometimes non-existent, and if it is it is upside down. The radio works when it wants to. The headlights keep filling with moisture no matter how many times I get it fixed. The windshield wiper will no longer spray the fluid to clear the windshield (after about owning it for a year) and the speedometers have been off since purchase. I bought the car brand new and just found out you’re supposed to report this stuff here. Please look into these issues with this vehicle, as the previous journey years also had the majority of these issues and have had those parts recalled.

Backup camera works when it wants to. Most times it's upside down, or staticky. Dealership says the only fix is to replace it, but we can't afford that. It's a safety hazard.

I backed out of a parking spot at work and the backup camera was working fine. A little over an hour later I was backing out of the driveway and the backup camera display had rotated 180 degrees and was upside down. It has been upside down since.
