2017 Dodge Grand Caravan Other Problems

The door lock actuators on BOTH sliding doors do not work properly. about 3 years ago the drivers side door lock actuator stopped unlocking and could not be used. about 7 or 8 months later, it suddenly unlocked but now makes a loud buzzing sound every time it locks.

My driver's side rear sliding door will not open or unlock. The locking mechanism inside the door panel is seized up and will not release the lock, so the door cannot be opened. This is unsafe because I now only have one door that passengers can exit from the back and if something were to happen to the other back door, people could be trapped.

Driver side rear sliding door is stuck closed. Cannot be operated manually, will not lock or unlock with the other car door locks which work fine. My children’s safety is at risk.

The sliding doors in my van are not functional. One side does not open at all which is a safety hazard for my children/other passengers to be able to get out of the back seat if an accident occurred. The other side does not lock so it is a safety concern too because someone could enter my vehicle without my knowledge.

2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. Check engine light reading code P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). Mechanic replaced spark plugs and coils, but car is still throwing same code.

On 7/2/2023 at approximately 12:04pm my family and I were driving home from church. My husband was driving and the driver's side head rest exploded, punching him in the back of the head while driving. We were very fortunate and no vehicle accident occurred.

The rear drivers sliding door would not unlock or open, both manually, or with the electronics. If I were carrying passengers, they would have not been able to exit the vehicle through that door (except the window). MY REAR DOOR MAKES A LOUD BUZZ WHEN I UNLOCK IT AND APPARENTLY IT IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE IN THE CARAVAN AND WON'T OPEN FROM THE AUTOMATIC BUTTONS.

THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR WAS STUCK SHUT IN THE LOCKED POSITION FOR 3 MONTHS. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME ALMOST $1000 TO BASICALLY REPLACE MOST OF THE DOOR, THIS DIAGNOSIS WAS DONE WHILE DOOR WAS STUCK SHUT. I FINALLY GOT IT OPEN BY PUSHING ON THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND PRESSING THE KEY FAB UNLOCK AT THE SAME TIME (SOMETHING I READ ON THE INTERNET). NOW IT OPENS AND CLOSES, BUT MAKES A BUZZING, CRUNCHING SOUND WHEN THE AUTO LOCK KICKS IN WHEN DRIVING, AND PERIODICALLY MAKES THE NOISE FOR NO REASON. ONLY BEEN 2 DAYS SINCE IT WOULD OPEN AND WAITING FOR IT TO BECOME STUCK OR ANOTHER ISSUE. SURE IS LOUD.

The van just shuts off while driving, no warning, no check engine light, no codes pulling up. It just turns off in the middle of the road. I'm greatful I wasn't on the freeway or traveling at a fast speed.

I bought a 2017 dodge grand caravan in february 2019. December 20, 2019 I was driving home and all of my dash lights and warnings came on, my windshield wipers came on, and the odometer and gas gauge went down while turning onto my home street. We took it to a dodge dealership and after looking and testing things they said it was the instrumental cluster panel.

Van accelerated for approximately 1 minute. I was on the highway. I slammed on the breaks and was able to maintain a speed of 55 miles per hour.

I BOUGHT THE CAR MONTH AGO WITH 34900 MILES ON IT AND WITHIN THE MONTH MY AC STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR WHILE DRIVING, MY PASSENGER REAR DOOR WAS MAKING GRINDING NOISE ON OPENING/CLOSING/LOCKING AND THE WINDSHIRLD WIPER FLUID LINE CAME UNDONE WITHIN 3 WEEKS. AS I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE WARRANTY ENDED AT 36000 MILES, I WAS TOLD 65,000, I WAITED TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO THE SHOP INTELL I GOT OUT OF WORK, ONE MONTH TO THE DAY FROM DATE OF PURCHASE, AND TOOK IT INTO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP. A CAR THEN HAD 36200 MILES AND I WAS NOT TOLD I NEEDED TO PAY JUST TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE LATCH TO THE DOOR WAS BROKEN AND THE REAR AC PUMP IS LEAKING AND THAT I NEED TO PAY $2000 TO FIX THESE ISSUES. THESE ISSUES WHERE THERE BEFORE I WENT OVER WARRANTY BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER TO DODGE.

The lock actuators on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan sliding passenger doors are both frozen, so the doors are not able to be opened at all. The doors for the backseat are unusable, and passengers must climb in through the back hatch door of the van. Other vehicles with the same make/model and year have this exact issue covered under warranty, but for some reason this one is not. I believe the warranty should be expanded to cover more dodge vehicles.This is a Safety issue as it prevents a safe and timely evacuation from the vehicle.

I've had the vehicle since literally 1 year 6 months ago the passenger rear door stopped locking/unlocking I searched for answers online and found forums with this door actuator issue I see it as a hazard because due below average use it went out what if the other 1 goes out then I lose access to the rear of my vehicle in an emergency or anything most people says it's at least $650 fix which is 2 months worth of car payments I can't afford

Oil housing unit failed at 72,000 miles. Dodge stated it should be a recall, they can't even keep up with the parts to replace it when it fails. They told me to use an after market part that would fail but it would at least get the car back in my possession.

There needs to be a recall on my car's front seat active head restraints. I received a letter from fiat chrysler automobiles (fac) stating that my front seat active head restraints may inadvertently deploy. Fac offered me an extended 10 year warranty.
