Filed: Aug 2025

While driving at 65 mph with adaptive cruise control on, your Forward Collision Warning light suddenly activated and nearly caused you to rear-end the car ahead. You lost antilock brakes, cruise control, and forward collision warning, and your brake pedal felt less responsive. The Dodge dealer identified a faulty anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit (part #68236997aa) as the cause, but this part has been discontinued with no aftermarket alternatives available. Fixing this issue will require obtaining a replacement hydraulic control unit through Dodge or finding a compatible alternative part.

NHTSA #: 11680721
criticalSERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
CrashFiled: Sep 2023

Your brake pedal sank to the floor without stopping the car, then only the left front brake engaged and locked up, causing your car to veer sharply left at a 45-degree angle. The brake remained locked and wouldn't respond to pedal input, and your forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems didn't activate, resulting in a crash. The inspection suggests an electrical fault in the brake booster caused both the brake lockup and the safety system failures. Fixing this will likely require diagnosing and repairing the brake booster electrical system and possibly replacing the left front rotor.

NHTSA #: 11547003

Filed: Feb 2026

Your car's ABS module (anti-lock brake system) has failed and is no longer manufactured by Dodge. This is causing warning lights to stay on constantly, your cruise control to stop working, and your advanced braking safety features to become inoperative. Since the part is no longer in production, finding a replacement may require sourcing a used module from a salvage yard or finding an aftermarket alternative.

highSERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC
Filed: Aug 2024

Your ABS (anti-lock brake) warning light came on while driving at 40 MPH, and the problem kept happening repeatedly. A mechanic diagnosed that your ABS module and brake booster pump need to be replaced, but these parts are no longer available from Dodge. The repair would involve replacing both the ABS module and brake booster pump to restore proper anti-lock braking function.

Suspension2 issues
highSUSPENSION
Filed: Jan 2025

While turning at an undisclosed speed, you heard a loud popping sound coming from underneath your vehicle, but no warning lights appeared. A mechanic diagnosed a failure in your front suspension. This type of suspension failure can affect your vehicle's handling and safety, and will likely require inspection and replacement of worn suspension components.

NHTSA #: 11633899
highSUSPENSION
Filed: Apr 2024

Your front suspension components suddenly failed without any warning signs beforehand. This type of failure can affect your car's handling and safety while driving. A mechanic will need to inspect the front suspension system to identify which specific components failed and replace them as needed.

Fuel/propulsion System1 issue
criticalFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: May 2024

Your auxiliary fuel pump, located under the right rear passenger seat inside your cabin, is leaking gasoline and creating a strong fuel smell inside the car. A pool of gasoline is collecting on top of the pump, separated only by a thin plastic lid from electrical cables that run to your battery in the trunk—this poses a fire risk if a spark or electrical short occurs. The fix will likely involve inspecting the fuel pump assembly, replacing the leaking pump, and potentially upgrading the protective cover design.

Steering,electrical System1 issue
criticalSTEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Filed: Apr 2023

While driving at 35 mph, your car suddenly lost power steering, stalled out, and stopped moving. The battery warning light came on. Your car restarted but wouldn't run properly and had to be towed home. There's a known recall for this issue (Campaign 17V435000), but your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in it. The problem likely involves the electrical system failing to keep the engine running and steering functional.

highUNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Feb 2026

Your ABS module has malfunctioned, which is causing problems with your cruise control, steering wheel dash controls, and several warning lights that stay on. The Dodge dealer has confirmed they're aware of the issue but currently has no fix available from Dodge. The underlying ABS module will likely need to be repaired or replaced once Dodge releases a solution.

Vehicle Speed Control, seats, forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SEATS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your car's warning lights came on your dashboard and several safety features stopped working, including ABS (anti-lock brakes), traction control, and your emergency brake light is now on. You scanned the car for error codes but didn't find any, so you're unsure what's causing the problem. This likely involves diagnosing the electrical or brake system connections that control these integrated safety features.

Filed: Sep 2025

Your alternator and battery have needed to be replaced three times in the past year, suggesting a recurring electrical charging problem. You've noticed other Dodge Chargers have a recall for similar issues, but your vehicle's VIN isn't included on that recall list. The fix will likely involve diagnosing why the alternator keeps failing to properly charge the battery, which may require checking the charging system circuit and potentially replacing the alternator or having the electrical system inspected for a defect.

Filed: Jun 2025

Your 2014 Dodge Charger is displaying a "Service Transmission" warning message and making a grinding noise from the transmission. Additionally, your cruise control isn't working and the ABS warning light stays on while driving. A diagnostic scan showed communication errors with the engine and transmission control computers, suggesting these issues may be related to an electrical or computer problem rather than just the transmission itself. The fix will likely involve diagnosing the computer communication issue, which could require replacing sensors, wiring, or the control modules themselves.

NHTSA #: 11668823
Power Train1 issue
highPOWER TRAIN
Filed: Jan 2025

Your car's transmission control module has failed, and your car won't start as a result. The transmission control module is a computer that manages how your transmission shifts gears. Replacing this module should restore your car's ability to start.

Filed: Dec 2024

Your car stalled while driving and lost power, with the check engine light coming on. The engine restarted, but the stalling happened again. You also noticed several other warning lights appearing on your dashboard while driving. The dealer was contacted but didn't diagnose or fix the problem. The issue likely involves your engine's fuel or ignition system, or possibly a faulty sensor sending wrong signals to the engine computer.

Filed: Sep 2024

Your ABS (anti-lock brake), brake, and electronic stability control warning lights all came on together. A mechanic told you that your ABS module needs to be replaced, but it's no longer available for your vehicle. Without a working ABS system, your brakes could lock up during sudden stops, which increases your risk of skidding or losing control.

When you put your car in Park, the dashboard display incorrectly shows that it's not actually in Park. This is a false warning that appears despite the transmission being in the correct gear. The issue likely involves a sensor or electrical connection that detects the transmission position, so a mechanic will need to diagnose and replace the faulty sensor or repair the wiring.
