After stopping at a red light and pressing the accelerator to make a left turn, your vehicle wouldn't respond or move forward. A dealer inspection found that the output shaft in your transmission had failed, requiring replacement of both the transmission and transfer case. This happened at about 124,000 miles, and while there's a related recall for this issue, your vehicle's VIN wasn't included.

Your car's shifter module, which was replaced under a recall in 2016, started automatically shifting into sport mode without warning starting in November 2022. When you took it to the dealership for replacement, they couldn't find a new Mopar shifter module because Chrysler stopped manufacturing them, so they installed a used one instead—which is also shifting into lower gears automatically and unexpectedly. You're concerned this creates a safety hazard for you and others on the road. The dealership may need to contact Chrysler for alternative repair solutions or parts availability options, as aftermarket replacements aren't currently available for this specific module.

When you shift your car from Park to Drive or from Drive to Reverse while parked, you hear clicking and thumping noises coming from the transmission area. This happens consistently in both directions. A mechanic will likely need to inspect the transmission mount, shifter linkage, or internal transmission components to identify the source of the noise.

Your car's steering suddenly became very hard to turn while you were driving, making it difficult to control the vehicle and forcing you to pull over safely. Filed: Sep 2022

Your engine developed a ticking sound while driving, and you noticed the car bucking, surging, hesitating, losing power, and misfiring. Your dealer found that internal components—specifically the rocker arms, lifters, and camshaft—had worn prematurely and the engine failed completely at 125,000 miles. The entire engine needed to be replaced to fix the problem.

Filed: Jul 2024

Your engine is making an abnormal tapping sound that your mechanic traced to faulty lifters, which are also causing excessive wear on the camshaft. No warning lights appeared on your dashboard, and the dealer confirmed there's no recall coverage for this issue. Fixing this problem will likely require replacing the valve lifters and potentially resurfacing or replacing the camshaft.

Your car's airbag warning light is staying on, which means the airbag system may not work properly in a crash. You should have this diagnosed and repaired by a dealer right away, as faulty airbags are a serious safety issue. The repair will likely involve a diagnostic scan to identify which part of the airbag system is failing, followed by replacement of the faulty component.

You took your car to the dealership for a recall repair on the airbag inflator. The dealership told you the inflator was badly damaged and wanted to charge you $1,100 for replacement, even though the recall should be covered at no cost. You refused the charge and picked up your car. The fix would involve replacing the airbag inflator assembly as part of the manufacturer's recall.

Your ABS (anti-lock brake) system has stopped working properly, causing all three warning lights—ABS, traction control, and brake—to come on at the same time. Your wheel has locked up completely, preventing your car from moving, and your brake pedal has lost pressure. The dealership indicates the ABS module replacement part has been on back order for an extended period. This will likely require replacing the ABS module and possibly inspecting the brake system for pressure loss.

Your steering system intermittently stops working, causing it to lock up while the car is in gear with no warning beforehand. Your 2013 Dodge Charger R/T is having trouble starting, especially after sitting in heat, and it sometimes cranks but won't turn over. You're also experiencing random stalling when coming to a stop, with the problem getting worse in hot weather or after extended driving. While your VIN isn't covered by the V62 fuel pump relay recall, the symptoms match that issue. A mechanic will need to diagnose whether the fuel pump relay in your TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) or related fuel system components are faulty.
