Risk: These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. These inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Fix: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM owners. Mitsubishi owners will be notified by their company. Dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S43. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-7700.

Filed: May 2024

Your car is leaking fuel where the filler neck connects to the fuel tank. This is a leak at the connection point where you fill up your gas tank, not a safety crash or fire incident, but it does need attention since fuel leaks are a potential hazard.

NHTSA #: 11586938

Filed: Mar 2024

Your 2007 Charger may stall shortly after you fill the gas tank completely. This appears to be the same problem that Dodge recalled in 2005-2006 Chargers, but your 2007 model wasn't included in that recall despite having the identical issue. The fix likely involves inspecting and possibly replacing the fuel tank filler neck or vent system to prevent overfilling and fuel-related stalling.

NHTSA #: 11578154

Filed: Oct 2021

Your fuel gauge is displaying an inaccurate fuel level reading, and your car won't allow the fuel tank to fill completely. This is likely caused by a problem with the fuel level sensor or evaporative emissions system. You'll need to have the fuel sender unit and evap system inspected and possibly replaced.

Your car is stalling out when you come to a stop while driving around town. This is causing the engine to shut off unexpectedly, which could be unsafe in traffic. The issue likely involves your fuel system or engine idle control and will need diagnostic testing to identify the root cause.

Your engine is shutting off unexpectedly while driving, and it's stalling at red lights and stop signs. When you try to accelerate, the car barely responds, and you're experiencing unpredictable power surges where it accelerates on its own without you pressing the gas pedal. This dangerous condition has nearly caused you to have accidents. The issue likely involves fuel delivery, ignition timing, or engine control system diagnostics and repairs.

Your car stalls out when driving at low speeds or idling, such as when slowing down for a traffic light. The dealership diagnosed this as a fuel tank problem and charged $3,000 for repairs that didn't fix it, then quoted another $4,500 to replace the fuel tank. After nearly a month at the dealership, the stalling issue persists and the car remains undrivable. The fuel tank may need inspection, cleaning, or replacement, or the issue could involve the fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel pressure regulator.

Filed: Feb 2025

When you fill your fuel tank completely, the engine suddenly dies while driving, causing a loss of power steering and forcing you off the road. The engine restarts but runs rough and stalls multiple times. You've found that partially filling the tank prevents the problem, suggesting raw fuel may be entering the EVAP system when the tank is full. A fuel system inspection and possible EVAP system repair will be needed to resolve the issue.

Filed: Dec 2024

Your fuel tank's rollover valve failed right after filling up, which allowed liquid fuel instead of fuel vapor to flow into your engine's intake manifold and caused your car to stall while driving in traffic. This is a known issue covered by a Dodge service bulletin, but Dodge customer service said your vehicle wasn't eligible for the recall despite having the same problem. The repair involves replacing the failed rollover valve and cleaning out the fuel vapor system components that were damaged by the liquid fuel.

Your car is constantly stalling while you're driving, which is a serious safety hazard. This sudden loss of engine power could put you at risk on the road. After your airbag recall service, you've experienced an ongoing electrical issue where your car makes a dinging sound and all dashboard lights start blinking rapidly while gauges jump around erratically. This happens whether you're driving or parked with the engine running or off. Multiple warning lights flash at once, including fuel, transmission, and brake alerts. Fixing this will likely involve diagnosing and repairing an electrical fault in your dashboard or instrument cluster, possibly related to the airbag service work.

Your vehicle has an airbag recall that needs to be repaired, but you've been unable to find a dealership willing to perform the work despite contacting over 15 locations. Your 2007 Dodge Charger is subject to two Takata airbag recalls (campaigns 15V313000 and 16V352000), but the replacement parts—specifically for the driver's side airbag—have not been available from the dealer for an extended period. The dealer has delayed scheduling your recall repairs multiple times, and the manufacturer has not been notified of this parts shortage issue. While you haven't experienced an airbag failure yet, the repair will likely involve replacing the driver's side airbag module with the correct Takata-affected unit once parts become available.

Your gear shifter gets stuck in park and won't move normally—this has happened about 5 times. You have to manually press a button underneath the shifter to get it unstuck. The dealer checked it once but couldn't find the cause and greased an unknown part, but the problem came back. Your vehicle is related to a known manufacturer recall (Campaign 08V583000) for this exact powertrain issue.

Your car won't start and the wheels lock up when you try to restart it. A mechanic found that the powertrain control module (the computer that controls your engine and transmission) is faulty and needs to be replaced. Your engine has been making a ticking noise since you bought the car. After filling up the gas tank, your engine shut off while driving on the highway, nearly causing a collision with other vehicles. Your car now won't start consistently—sometimes it starts and ticks before shutting off again. The issue appears to be a known problem with the 5.7 Hemi engine involving the valve lifters and camshaft.
