Your turn signal lever doesn't automatically shut off after you complete a turn, which means your blinker stays on and confuses drivers behind you—they may think you're still turning and try to pass, creating a dangerous situation. This problem has existed since the vehicle was new and has been confirmed by multiple repair shops. The fix will likely involve inspecting or replacing the turn signal switch mechanism that's supposed to automatically reset the lever.

The front doors on the car lock and unlock them selves and often you have to climb into the backseat from the front seat to exit the car. This is a serious danger if you were in an accident or the car was on fire. Hi I am [XXX] and it’s almost impossible for me to climb over the seats the way the cockpit is made. When the car locks itself it’s impossible to unlock the car using the door locks inside by pulling them up or using the key in the drivers door nothing works. The car can be completely locked and hours later maybe the next day the drivers door will be open on its own. This is happened several times in the rain soaking the driver seat. The only way to unlock the doors if they lock on their own it’s to play with a key fob pressing lock unlock maybe 100 times and you might get lucky and it unlocks. I spent three days once before I could enter my car using the key fob as I explained earlier. The door came open one time while the car was going forward and luckily I was in a Walmart parking lot or there’s no telling what would’ve happened. When the car was shifted into drive the door locks clicked down but that still did not stop the door from opening. I purchased the car two months ago for $7000 and the dealer is going to do nothing they stressed as is. I have read online there are thousands of these complaints for the same thing and GM has not acknowledged the problem to date. Complaints I have read also stated they have done different repairs to the doors which are quite costly but they were to no avail. This seems like a very serious and dangerous problem being trapped inside a car especially in Florida where I live and the temperatures in a car can reach 140 degrees. If the car is running you can’t even exit the back doors once you crawl over the seats it has to be shut off. Driving down the highway, the car completely shuts down, states engine deactivated, engine power decreased, and traction light on, had to attempt to safely pull over, had to be towed, still trying to figure what's wrong, completely unsafe!

My brake lights are always on as if I am riding the brakes (which I am not) and when I apply the brakes they turn off. I also get a warning to service traction control and ESC. I understand that GM had a recall for this and the repair work was done on this vehicle but people are complaining that the repair is only temporary and the problem returns. I don't think I should have to pay for this to be repaired as it is a know problem with many GM cars, not just Malibu. The vehicle is useless as it is because it will definitely cause a accident.

Transmission went out at 88740 miles. Paid over $3000 for it and there are still issues. This car is junk. I feel chevy should have repair all these issues on this car. Now it's the throttle body and transmission issues. It's non stop issues. I Baby this car out of fear to no avail.

I was driving and the service traction control came across my car the the engine powering down notification appeared, and the check engine light. I took it to advance auto and they hooked up the machine which gave them the code DTC P2138. I took it to a mechanic who said the accelerator pedal sensor needed to be replaced. I replaced it and I'm still having the same issue. This time when it came on the pedal completely lost power until I turned the car off and restarted it.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR RUNNING REALLY FUNNY. SOMETIMES IT WON'T START. THEN AT TIMES IT WILL START BUT IF YOU PUT IT IN GEAR TO DRIVE. IT GOES VERY SLOW. THIS HAPPEN IN 2016 BEFORE. I GOT A LETTER FROM GM TO TAKE IT IN TO BE FIXED. WHEN I TAKE IT IN. MY CAR RESETS. AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY CAN'T FIX IT. THE LETTER I RECEIVED FROM GM IS SAYING I HAVE UNTIL 2020 TO GET IT FIXED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD VERY LOW MILES.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I FELT A JUMP AS IF I HAD GONE OVER A BUMP. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND STARTED TO LOOSE SPEED. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE AND BRAKED TO A COMPLETE STOP. I PLACED THE SHIFT TO PARKING AND SHIFT IT TO DRIVE AS I PRESS ON GAS PADDLE THE VEHICLE JUMPED AGAIN AND WAS DRIVING AS IF ON THE NEUTRAL POSITION AND THE SPEED WOULDN'T ADVANCE. I SHIFTED ONCE AGAIN, AND IT VEHICLE JUMPED AGAIN. I GOOGLED AND IT MENTIONED THE SHIFT CABLE TAB COULD BE BROKEN. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND CHECKED THE SHIFT CABLE AND THERE WAS NO TAB. MECHANIC REPLACED THE BUSHING AND IT FAILED ONCE AGAIN. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UN-DRIVABLE. I READ THAT GM WAS RECALLING THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH 2008-2010 MALIBU. I'VE GOT IMAGES AND INVOICE BUT HAVING TROUBLE UPLOADING AT THIS TIME.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN FULL DRESS A SUIT OR NICE CLOTHES AND YOU OPEN YOUR DRIVERS DOOR OR PASSENGER AND THE TAPE SLICES YOUR FINGER LIKE A MEAT SLICER AND BLOOD IS EVERYWHERE. I GOT MY MALIBU IN NOV.2013 AND IN AUGUST ON 2016 I TOOK IT IN FOR A OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND A CHECK I DO EVERY THREE MONTHS A WEEK LATER MY TRANSMISSION DIES, I GOT TO MY MOM RADIATION APPOINTMENT AND IT DIED IN THE PARKING LOT HAD TO TOW IT TO A MANICHEAN AND HE TELLS ME THAT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION DIED I DO NOT HAVE ANY MONEY TO GET IT FIXED CAUSE I AM A FULL-TIME STUDENT SO MY CAR IS SITTING IN MY THE STREET AND I CAN NOT DRIVE MY MOTHER TO HER APPOINTMENTS BECAUSE WE HAVE NO CAR AND MY MOM IS ON A FIXED INCOME DUE TO THE FACT SHE IS 73 YRS OLD. MY CAR SHUT OFF AS I WAS DRIVING ON 4 OCCASIONS. AFTER THE SCEOND TIME THE CAR SHUT OFF AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT A LIGHT ON A CITY STREET. THE NEXT DAY I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FAULTY INTAKE ACTUATOR AND EXHAUST ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE, THE AIR FILTER WAS ON WRONG AND THERE WAS CARBON BUILD UP INSIDE THE THROTTLE AND THE COOLING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED THAT WAS ON 8/8/16. COSTING $700. ON 8/12/16 IT STOPPED RUNNING AGAIN ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR IT BUCKED SOME. TODAY ON 8/13/16 I TRIED TO USE THE CAR TO PICK UP ONE OF MY CHILDREN AND IT STOPPED AGAIN AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. MY CONCERN IS ONE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. TWO HAVING TO PAY FOR REPAIRS THAT ARE NOT PERTAINING TO THE ISSUE AND THREE I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT THERE ARE THE SAME EXACT COMPAINTS REGARDING CHEVY MALIBUS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE ERROR CODE IS P0010. I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR 6 MONTHS WITHOUT SOME ISSUE. THIS IS JUST THE LATEST IN A LONG LINE OF PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY STEERING COLUMN WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY 4.5 YEARS OLD. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT ONLY 5.5 YEARS OLD. I JUST HAD TO HAVE THE PASSENGER DOOR FIXED, AS IT LOCKED, AND WOULDN'T OPEN. AND NOW THIS P0010 CODE. I'M FACING YET ANOTHER COSTLY FIX ON THIS CAR. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ERROR CODE SO THAT I AM NOT FORCED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET YET AGAIN.

THE DOOR NOT OPENING HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AND I AM NOT ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO BECAUSE I CHECKED ON LINE TO SEE THE NUMBERS. IT IS DANGEROUS IN THIS CONDITION. I AM TRAPPED IN CAR WHEN IT HAPPENS PLUS I AM DISABLED AND MOVING OVER MEDIAN TO GET OUR OF CAR IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. SINCE THIS IS DANGEROUS, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

THE TRANSMISSION FAILED ON THIS VEHICLE. IAW GM DOC# 2894053 TECHNICAL BULLETIN THIS IS CAUSED BY A BROKEN 3-5-R APPLY (WAVED) PLATE (507). THE MECHANIC STATED THIS PLATE IS TOO THIN FOR THESE VEHICLES AND WHEN THEY BREAK DOWN, THEY TOTALLY DESTROY A GOOD TRANSMISSION AND THE DRIVER WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS POWERING DOWN TO SAFE MODE (GOING FROM 65 TO 40 IN LESS THEN A MINUTE) AND THERE IS NO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE GAVE A FALSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES AND NEVER SHOWED THERE WAS A INSIDE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. CODES WERE P0776 AND PI0780. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE FACT THAT IT WAS NOT A BUSY DAY. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN REAR ENDED AND THEN THIS 3-5-R DEFECT WOULD HAVE BEEN BLAMED ON THE CRASH. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THIS SHOULD BE REPALCE BY GM. THIS HAS COST ME $2,881.88, AND 3 LOST WORK DAYS. GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR SHODDY CHEAP PARTS.

I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY WORK PARKING LOT AS MY VEHICLE ALMOST DID NOT GET UP TO SPEED. OUR VEHICLE IS GOING TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS.
