criticalENGINE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your truck has been losing large amounts of oil from the oil pan multiple times since late February 2026, causing the engine to shut down into safe mode at highway speeds and leaving you stranded. This has happened at least three times despite dealership repairs, with the truck losing nearly 5 quarts each time and forcing you to limp to safety on the roadside. The issue may require replacing the oil pan, gaskets, seals, or diagnosing why oil is escaping from the engine system.

Your upper radiator hose may fail prematurely, potentially as early as 20,000 miles. This is a cooling system component, and if it fails, your engine could overheat and be permanently damaged. The problem appears to be caused by a poor-quality rubber seal where the hose connects to the radiator. Replacing the upper radiator hose and inspecting the seal design may be necessary to prevent overheating.

NHTSA #: 11722505

Filed: Feb 2026

Your upper radiator hose quick disconnect has a failed O-ring inside, causing coolant to leak. If the coolant continues to leak, your engine could overheat and suffer serious damage. The fix will involve replacing the O-ring or the entire quick disconnect coupling.

NHTSA #: 11720352

While driving on the expressway at 70 mph and applying the brakes to slow down for traffic, your dashboard displayed a "BRAKE FAILURE" warning telling you not to drive over 60 mph. Your brakes became very spongy and unresponsive. This is a serious brake system issue that needs immediate inspection to determine what's causing the loss of braking pressure.

Filed: Jan 2026

When you press the brake pedal on the expressway, your brakes feel spongy and don't stop the truck quickly—they only slow it down gradually while the engine decelerates to 60 mph. This problem has happened 7 times over the past year and a half. This issue needs immediate attention as it affects your ability to stop safely.

Filed: Dec 2025

Your brake pedal may release briefly while idling with the engine running, causing your dashboard warning lights to flash and your brakes to feel spongy or unresponsive. You have to turn the truck off to reset the system before the brakes work normally again, though the check engine light may remain. Your dealer identified this as a software issue and performed a recall reset, though the problem may persist if the underlying software hasn't been fully updated.

NHTSA #: 11703339
criticalSERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Oct 2025

Your brakes are occasionally failing to work properly, but the problem happens unpredictably and your service dealer couldn't reproduce it when they inspected the vehicle. GMC advised you to contact them again if the issue occurs again. This may require brake system diagnostics to identify the intermittent failure.

Service Brakes,forward Collision Avoidance2 issues
criticalSERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Dec 2025

Your forward collision avoidance system is activating and hard-braking unexpectedly, even in empty parking lots and on the highway at 65 mph. This has happened twice and caused minor injuries (sore necks and seatbelt marks). After these incidents, your brakes and routing system have developed problems from the hard braking, and you're now experiencing bad vibration when you apply the brakes.

NHTSA #: 11704603
highSERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your truck's automatic braking system (designed to prevent pedestrian collisions) was recalled about a year ago, but today it suddenly locked up the brakes in traffic even though there was no pedestrian nearby. You've also noticed false collision alerts before, suggesting the recall repair may not have fully resolved the underlying problem.

NHTSA #: 11718172
Unknown Or Other2 issues
highUNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Jan 2026

Your upper radiator hose may fail prematurely, with reports of failures occurring around 37,000 miles. A faulty rubber seal connecting the hose to the radiator can cause coolant leaks, leading to engine overheating and potential engine damage. The dealer may need to replace the upper radiator hose and inspect the radiator connection for proper sealing.

NHTSA #: 11713387
highUNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Oct 2025

Your roof can dent when going through a car wash due to the air blowers, even though your Colorado hasn't been damaged yet because you've avoided car washes. GM issued a service bulletin (23-NA-209) stating that all Colorados built before February 3rd, 2025 should be repaired with roof reinforcement supports, but GM is refusing to fix yours because your VIN isn't showing a recall in their system. The fix involves installing support structures inside the roof to prevent denting.

NHTSA #: 11693188
Fuel/propulsion System1 issue
criticalFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Mar 2026

You noticed a gas smell the night before, and the next day your car suddenly stopped on the highway after driving a few miles. A large amount of fuel was leaking from the fuel hose connected to your fuel tank, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. The car had to be towed to a repair shop, where they'll need to remove the fuel tank to determine which parts are damaged.

NHTSA #: 11725969
Power Train,electrical System,service Brakes1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Nov 2025

Your truck is experiencing intermittent electrical failures affecting door locks, power windows, and four-wheel drive controls due to a suspected body control module (BCM) problem. These failures create a safety concern because door locks may not work during an emergency, and the 4WD display malfunction could affect traction control in mountain driving. The issues temporarily resolve when you disconnect and reconnect the battery, but they keep returning with increasing frequency, and your dealer has been unable to identify the root cause after multiple visits. The fix will likely require GM to reprogram or replace the body control module and perform comprehensive electrical system diagnostics.

NHTSA #: 11699370
Steering,electrical System,service Brakes1 issue
criticalSTEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Oct 2025

Your brakes have failed twice while driving, accompanied by dashboard warnings for traction control, power steering, and brake assist. When these warnings appear, your steering becomes very stiff and your brakes lose stopping power, making the vehicle difficult to control. A software update from the dealer didn't permanently fix the issue—it happened again around 24,000 miles. The underlying cause may require diagnosis of the brake system, power steering system, and associated electrical/software components.

NHTSA #: 11696608
Vehicle Speed Control1 issue
criticalVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Filed: Oct 2025

Your vehicle accelerated on its own while stopped and again at highway speeds. The dealership confirmed they experienced the same problem but was unable to identify the cause. This unintended acceleration issue requires further diagnosis to determine the underlying problem.

NHTSA #: 11693513
Unknown Or Other, forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highUNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your radiator inlet hose developed a leak that caused your coolant level to drop low, triggering a check engine light. You'll need to replace the hose, though parts may be hard to find right now. Additionally, you had a recall performed on your emergency brake assist system, but the alert assist warning continues to go off even after the recall service was completed.

Back Over Prevention, forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highBACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Feb 2026

Your rear-view camera goes blank when you're backing up, and your front camera also fails to display an image while driving. The dealer has reprogrammed the camera system multiple times, but the problem keeps returning after a few months. This issue started appearing around 8,000 miles and affects both your backup and collision avoidance safety features.

NHTSA #: 11715625
Power Train1 issue
highPOWER TRAIN
Filed: Jan 2026

Your upper radiator hose and gasket may fail prematurely, causing coolant leaks. You might notice rushing fluid sounds or see coolant pooling on the driver's side where the hose connects to the radiator. A leaking radiator hose can cause your engine to overheat and fail while driving. The fix will involve replacing the faulty radiator hose and gasket.

highPOWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Dec 2025

Your Check Engine Light keeps turning on and off, and you're getting a coolant flow warning (code P30C5). Even though the coolant pump was replaced under warranty about 9 months ago, the same problem has come back, along with an "Engine and Transmission System" alert in your myChevrolet app. This issue has required multiple repair attempts since you bought the vehicle, and you're concerned about reliability for your daily 100-mile commute.
