A rodent entered your vehicle through the air intake vent within two months of purchase and damaged the cabin air filter. While the rodent didn't chew through any wiring this time, the tech noted that damaged wires could create a serious safety risk by causing electrical shorts or failures while driving. BMW refused to add a protective mesh barrier to prevent future rodent entry or cover the repair costs under warranty, so you had to pay for the cabin air filter replacement yourself.
