While driving at highway speeds, your vehicle's Driving Assistance Professional Package suddenly shut off without warning, causing you to lose both adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping assistance. You had to take immediate manual control to avoid a collision. This same failure has happened twice at the dealership despite two repair attempts over 30 days, and a replacement vehicle provided to you experienced the identical problem while you were driving at 35 mph on the freeway. The BMW dealership and manufacturer have been unable to permanently fix this steering and driver assistance system malfunction.

While driving at highway speeds, your car's Driving Assistance Professional Package (DAPP) suddenly shut off without warning, immediately disabling both adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping assistance. This forced you to take emergency manual control to avoid a collision. The problem has occurred multiple times, and despite two visits to the BMW dealership, it hasn't been permanently fixed. A steering control module replacement or firmware update may be needed to restore these safety features.

While driving at 45 mph, your car suddenly lost all engine power and stalled, which caused the power steering and brake assist to stop working—making the vehicle extremely difficult to control. A diagnostic test showed your 12V battery was failing with only 37% charge capacity, which triggered the electrical system failure. Your dealership has not provided a full diagnostic report or identified the root cause despite your request, and your car has been out of service for over 20 days. The fix will likely involve replacing the 12V battery and investigating why it failed so early on a new vehicle.

Your 2025 BMW X3 experienced a complete engine shutdown and loss of power while driving at 35 mph in traffic, triggered by a "drivetrain malfunction" warning. This is the third occurrence of the same problem—it happened twice shortly after you purchased the vehicle in June 2025 and was supposedly repaired by the dealer, but the issue has now recurred. You were stranded in traffic with a child passenger, creating a safety hazard, and the vehicle required towing. The underlying cause remains unknown, though BMW technical support was involved in the previous repair attempt. Diagnosis will require the dealer to connect diagnostic equipment and perform a complete electrical and powertrain system inspection to identify the root cause.

When you started your car, you received a warning message about changed steering effort, and the power steering stopped working entirely, making the car undrivable. Your dealer has indicated this is a known issue that may require replacing the steering rack.

Your car makes a deep grinding noise when you turn the steering wheel while parking, parked, or driving off. The dealer has attempted repairs by replacing the tie rods during three service visits, but the problem continues. This noise could indicate wear or damage in your steering system's bearings, bushings, or assembly components, and continuing to drive with this noise may stress other parts. A complete steering system inspection and possible replacement of additional steering components may be necessary to resolve the issue.

Your 2025 BMW X3 is making a clunking noise that happens frequently, especially on rough roads and during turning, accelerating, or braking at low speeds. You can feel vibration through the steering wheel and brake pedal along with the noise, and multiple passengers have heard it too. The BMW dealership couldn't reproduce the problem during inspection, but the issue persists and hasn't improved. A more thorough inspection of the suspension, steering, and brake components may be needed to identify the source of the clunking and vibration.
