Your Forward Collision Avoidance system may have activated too late to prevent a crash when a car ahead braked suddenly. According to BMW's data review, the system engaged only a split second before impact, which you didn't notice in time to avoid hitting the other vehicle. The repair parts needed to fix your car appear to be unavailable from BMW, leaving your vehicle at the body shop with no estimated delivery date for replacements.

Your 2025 BMW X3's rear collision warning and automatic braking system failed to alert you or apply brakes before a rear-end accident. A trailer hitch was recently installed on the vehicle, which required removing and reinstalling the rear bumper fascia that houses sensors for this safety system. Although the bumper was reinstalled in its original position and no warning lights appeared, the system did not provide any audible, visual, or brake warnings during the collision. BMW is investigating whether the trailer hitch installation affected the rear collision mitigation system's performance.

While driving away from a stop sign in clear bright daylight weather conditions, the car automatically instituted an emergency stop almost causing the car behind me to rear end my car. I am assuming that it was the "drive off safety feature" and after turning off that safety feature and had no repeat. To be clear, I actually have no idea what software system cause the emergency breaking but there were no obstructions, pedestrians or other things that should have triggered the stop.

While driving on a state highway in cruise mode, the vehicle displayed a “CHECK CONTROL” message: •Support from Driver Assistance restricted •You can continue driving. Driver Assistance permanently restricted. •Check Control messages (1) Suddenly, the car exited cruise mode. While this is designed as a safety feature, it should not disengage abruptly during driving, as it may lead to potential risks. This a second biggest issue with this vehicle within just a few months of purchase.
