Your airbag clock spring failed and needs replacement under warranty, but the dealer has no parts in stock and can't provide a timeline for when they will be available. Without this repair, your horn and airbags won't function, making the car unsafe to drive, and your vehicle can't pass the state safety inspection needed to renew your registration. The repair will involve replacing the airbag clock spring component, which manages the electrical connection for your airbags and horn.

Your 2015 Tiguan has a broken clock spring, which is a component that controls your steering wheel airbag, horn, and some dashboard controls. Because of this failure, your airbag will not deploy in a crash, creating a serious safety risk — your dashboard airbag warning light is on confirming this. Volkswagen has acknowledged the issue and will cover the repair under warranty, but the replacement parts are currently on backorder with no delivery timeline due to manufacturing delays. The repair will involve replacing the clock spring assembly in your steering column.

Your steering wheel's clock spring (the coiled connector behind the wheel) is broken, which is preventing your airbags from deploying properly in a crash. This same issue is also affecting your horn, cruise control, and other steering wheel-mounted buttons that control computer functions. The repair will require replacing the clock spring assembly behind your steering wheel.

Your airbag warning light is turning on even though your car hasn't been in an accident. This indicates a problem with your airbag system that needs to be diagnosed by a mechanic or dealer.

Your airbag warning light has been on since February 2022 due to a faulty clockspring (a component in your steering wheel that triggers the airbags). While this repair is covered under warranty, the replacement part is on back order with no estimated arrival date, leaving your airbags non-functional. Without a loaner car available, you're forced to drive with this safety system disabled. The fix will require replacing the clockspring component once the part becomes available.

After your car was repaired from a deer accident, you heard an unwinding sound from the steering wheel area while turning left into a parking lot. Your airbag warning light came on, and the steering wheel buttons and horn stopped working. This issue appeared within a week of getting the car back from the repair shop. The problem likely involves the airbag system components or steering wheel wiring that may need inspection or replacement.

Steering →2 issues
Your power steering warning light turns on when you start your car and stays on for 5 to 30 minutes, during which your power steering doesn't work—making the steering wheel very hard to turn. Once the light goes off, steering returns to normal. This happens every day regardless of weather or how you're driving, creating a safety risk especially in parking lots or traffic where you need responsive steering.

Your steering suddenly became very stiff and difficult to turn, with a red steering warning light appearing on your dashboard and a gurgling sound coming from under the dash. The dealer found a torque sensor fault and determined your steering rack needed to be replaced along with updated connectors and tie rods. This repair typically involves replacing the entire steering rack assembly with new electrical harnesses and steering linkage components.

Unknown Or Other →2 issues
Your car has stalled while driving on the highway multiple times over the past year, including once with no warning code appearing. Previous stalling incidents had warning codes that were addressed by mechanics, but the problem has recurred without any diagnostic code this time, making it difficult to identify the root cause. This is a serious safety concern since stalling while driving can cause loss of control. The fix will likely require a thorough diagnostic scan and inspection of the fuel system, ignition system, and engine control components to find the underlying issue.

Your rear camera and lock have stopped working due to water leaking in from improper installation of the lock and camera assembly. This water intrusion has caused the components to fail and no longer function. The repair will likely involve resealing or reinstalling the camera and lock assembly to prevent future water damage.

Electrical System,air Bags →2 issues
Your airbag warning light stays on, indicating the airbags may not be working properly. The problem started after a service visit in July 2021 and has become constant—the warning appears every time you start the vehicle, and sometimes clears temporarily when you restart, but returns again. This is a known issue affecting other 2015 VW Tiguans from a November 2019 recall, though it may not be listed under your specific VIN. Getting the airbag system scanned and repaired by a VW dealer is important for your safety.

Your horn stopped working and your airbag warning light came on. The dealer diagnosed that your clockspring (the component that connects your steering wheel to the electrical system) needs to be replaced, but the part was backordered and your vehicle wasn't repaired. This is a safety concern because the clockspring controls both your horn and airbag systems.

Steering,electrical System,air Bags →2 issues
Your steering wheel clock spring has failed, causing your car's computer to receive faulty signals. This is triggering multiple warning lights including the airbag warning light, steering system light, and brake light, and making the steering feel difficult to operate even though these systems themselves are working fine. The failure may have been triggered by your car battery dying. Fixing this will require replacing the steering wheel clock spring unit.

Your horn stopped working, and you noticed your airbag warning light came on. The dealership identified a faulty clock spring in your steering wheel, which controls steering wheel functions including the horn and airbag system. While Volkswagen extended the warranty to 120,000 miles, your vehicle is just over that limit at 121,190 miles, leaving you responsible for an approximately $800 repair to replace the clock spring.

Steering,air Bags →1 issue
Your Tiguan's clock spring—a component that connects your steering wheel to the airbag and horn—keeps failing and has needed replacement three times in six months. When it fails, your airbag becomes non-operational and your horn stops working, both serious safety concerns. You may notice a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel before it fails, followed by a loud click or pop and a dashboard warning that the airbag is out. The fix will require replacing the clock spring component, likely through a dealership.

Electrical System,service Brakes,engine →1 issue
Your car's electric power steering (EPS) system keeps failing, leaving you stranded on the highway. This has happened multiple times and requires the vehicle to be towed. The repair will likely involve diagnosing and replacing faulty EPS components or the steering control module.

Your car's clock spring has failed, which has disabled both your horn and airbags — two critical safety features. The replacement part is on backorder with a long wait time, leaving you unable to drive safely. Fixing this will require replacing the clock spring assembly, which is the component that connects your steering wheel controls to your airbags and horn.

Electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your car's Electronic Power Control (EPC) warning light is illuminated on your dashboard. This light indicates a problem with your engine's electronic control system that needs to be diagnosed. A technician will need to scan your vehicle with a diagnostic tool to identify the specific issue, which could range from a faulty sensor to an engine management problem.

Engine →1 issue
Your engine's timing chain failed prematurely at 70,000 miles despite regular maintenance, and your check engine light had been on for about 2 months before it failed completely. A mechanic confirmed the timing chain was the problem. Fixing this will likely require removing the engine cover and timing chain components, then installing a new timing chain and related parts.

You purchased a used vehicle from Eagle Valley Motors that required significant repairs. Despite paying approximately $2,000 for brake service, tire replacement, transmission fluid, and an oil change, you believe the dealership did not properly complete these repairs and misrepresented the work to you and the Better Business Bureau. You report that the brakes, transmission fluid, engine oil, and tires all remained in poor condition after the claimed service.
