Frame is rotting for some reason and I take care of my vehicle. At some point in time it will be very dangerous to drive.
When I was driving, the mount for the brake line dropped and twisted and damaged the steering rod. I drove straight to a mechanic, and he showed me that the frame was rusted out completely, and the truck is not safe to drive.

I inherited my father’s Tundra which now only has 95,000 and almost flawless body. As part of the recall for Tundra frames, I took it to the dealer and they wanted nothing to do with the frame replacement and only put on undercoating. This has made it worse. On my last inspection (May) I was told that this truck frame is failing and I won’t be passing another inspection. I called a different dealer in the area and they said they cannot replace the frame now because of the other dealer’s coating. Would it be possible to have Toyota still replace the frame because it’s a safety issue? There is no reason to scrap the truck seeing as the rest of it is fine. I had my truck inspected for the frame recall a few years ago. My current mechanic says the frame should not look as bad as it does for the 125k miles it has on it. They have concerns that using a lift on it will damage the frame. This could make it nearly impossible to remove/change the tires. I look at other trucks from ford/Dodge/GM near the same age and I do not see anything similar on the frames. More of a surface rust then flake. The body and engine look great. Suspect while everything looks good the frame will be unable to perform as designed. I have reached out to Toyota and they want me to contact local dealer. I am concerned as recently a brake line failed and I am not sure if this will cascade into a large repair bill due to rusted components.
The frame on my newly purchased 2004 Toyota Tundra is rotted through. The consumer protections Toyota claims to have taken to correct this, in this instance, the application of water seal to the frame in 2014 has trapped moisture and caused extensive corrosion rendering the vehicle unsafe. I have visited multiple Toyota locations received the same message. Toyota claims no responsibility for this course of events leaving consumers in my position with no recourse and with an unsafe vehicle we cannot use and in my case have spent almost eleven thousand dollars on. Where is the responsibility to consumer safety?

The contact also stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V741000 (Air Bags) however, the dealer informed the contact that the frame was cracked in the process of completing the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 175,000.
The frame of my 2004 Toyota tundra sr5 has a big rutted hole on the bottom of the frame, right under the driver's door side. the hole is about 1.5 ft long and 1 inch with. now I feel unsafe doing anything on the truck since I don't know how big the problem is. these problems Affect brakes, suspension, etc, I see many tundra owners complaining about this problem. I don't know when the previous owner got the truck sprayed at the dealer but it didn't work. I'm very disappointed since it's a nice truck, Toyota should take action on this matter, it is very unsafe for many people on the road. Toyota needs to find a resolution.
I'm the second owner of this 2004 Toyota truck, my father was the first. This truck has been babied since my dad drove it off the lot. Everything is in superior condition except for the frame, it has almost completely rusted off. My dad passed away and this is all I have of his. Back in 2014 , it was sprayed with a rust prevention as part as the Toyota campaign which did nothing besides cover the already existing rust and increase the breakdown of the frame. Google is filled with hundreds of people saying the same thing and I don't understand how Toyota is getting away with this.

THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE EXTREME RUST CONDITION AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVER UNDER THE WARRANTY AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 240,000.
A WARRANTY ON THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK WAS SATISFIED ON 5/6/2014. THE FRAME WAS RUSTY AT THE TIME. HOWEVER, THE FRAME IS RUSTY AGAIN AND WE NOW HAVE A SAFETY CONCERN.
THE FRAME IS RUSTED TO THE EXTREME THAT PREVIOUS OWNERS HAVE ALREADY HAD IT REPAIRED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE JUST BEHIND THE FRONT AXLE FOR THE SWAY BAR TO MOUNT. I HAVE FOUND THE SAME ISSUE OF RUST THROUGH THE FRAME IS NOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND BOUT TO DO THE SAME THING. I ALSO FIND EXTREME RUST JUST IN FRONT OF THE REAR AXLE. EXTREME RUST HOLDING THE TRANSFER CASE IN THE VEHICLE IS VERY THIN ALSO.

TRUCK WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. IT WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR RECALL AND THEY DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. NOW RECALL IS EXPIRED AND VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND FRAME IS RUSTED AND THERE ARE HOLES. ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT WHEN I TURNED AND WENT DOWN A HILL AND THE BRAKES DID NOT HOLD. OTHER INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED OVER THE YEARS.
FRAME IS SO RUSTED OUT THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS NOTHING TO SUPPORT IT. THE TRUCK CAN NO LONGER BE SAFELY DRIVEN. TOYOTA HAD ME TAKE THE TRUCK IN AND HAVE THE FRAME CHECKED FOR RUST IN 2015. AT THAT TIME THEY TOLD THE FRAME WAS GOOD. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER ON 2/17 THIS YEAR AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT CORPORATE. I CONTACTED THEM SAME DAY AND WAS TOLD SINCE THEY CHECKED IT ONCE THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO FOR ME. HARD TO BELIEVE THE FRAME COULD SO COMPLETELY DETERIORATE IN THAT FIVE YEAR PERIOD. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I HOPE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO HELP ALL THESE PEOPLE OUT.
I NOTICED THE VEHICLE FRAME HAS 4 HOLES ON THE FRAME. THE HOLES ARE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. THE HOLES ARE APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 INCHES IN LENGTH.
THE FRAME OF THIS TRUCK IS RUSTED SO BAD THAT IT SEEMS LIKE IT COULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I DID NOT FIND ANY RESULTS INTO THE VEHICLES FRAME CORRODING OR BREAKING THEREFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I THEN SPOKE WITH TOYOTA ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL ON 11/18/2019 AND 11/19/2019 AND ASKED IF THERE IS/WAS A RECALL WITH THE FRAME. THEY STATED YES AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO BECAUSE IT HAS EXPIRED EXCEPT FOR PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPLACEMENT. NOW, I NOTICED THE FRAME HAS A LARGE HOLE IN IT DUE TO RUST CORROSION LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL. I CALLED TOYOTA CORPORATION TWICE (11/18/2019 AND 11/19/2019) AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE FIX. I THEN ASKED WHY, AFTER SEARCHING THEIR WEBSITE WITH THE VIN , I WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE RECALL/LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN. THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED " I CAN'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION". IF I WERE ABLE TO SEE THAT THE VEHICLE HAD THAT ISSUE I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT. NOW THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AND I CANNOT LEGALLY/SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. TOYOTA WILL NOT REPLACE OR FIX THE FRAME AS THEY STATED THAT IT WAS A LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO HAVE THE FRAME SPRAYED WITH THE ANTI-CORROSION CHEMICAL AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SPRAYED. AGAIN I DID NOT KNOW THIS PRIOR TO PURCHASE BUT NOW I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT I JUST PURCHASED AND CANNOT DRIVE IT. TOYOTA HAS NOT OFFERED A REMEDY FOR THE SITUATION I AM IN.

DESPITE BEING BARELY USED OVER THE YEARS AND AT JUST 144K MILES, IN CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE FRAME THERE ARE HOLES WHERE THE FRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH. THE RIDE QUALITY FEELS A BIT WOBBLY, EVEN AFTER EXAMINATION AND RECTIFICATION OF OTHER MECHANICAL ISSUES (SUSPENSION, JOINTS, ETC.) UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE PERVASIVE ISSUE AMONG FIRST GENERATION TOYOTA TUNDRAS MADE IN THE US OF THIS PERIOD. THE RESULT IS VERY PREMATURE RUST AND COMPLETE DISINTEGRATION OF THE TRUCK FRAME. THE PRIMARY CAUSE WAS POORLY MADE TRUCK FRAMES FROM A TOYOTA VENDOR THAT ENDED IN A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT. TOYOTA HAS OFFERED EXTENDED RECALL TO INSPECT AND REPLACE ALL AFFECTED TRUCK FRAMES AS APPROPRIATE. I SEEK TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM AND PROPER ASSESSMENT BY AN AUTHORIZED TOYOTA DEALER. AS THIS ISSUE AFFECTS BOTH THE RESALE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE OPERATIONAL SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE, I REQUEST THAT THE ISSUE BE EXPEDITED BY THE RIGHT AUTHORITIES. THANK YOU!
I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2004 TUNDRA WITH KNOWING ABOUT THE RECALL FOR FRAME RUST. I BELIEVED TOYOTA HAD COMPLETED THE RECALL AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. NOT LONG AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED A SPOT OF RUST BUBBLING THROUGH THE ANTI CORROSION COATING. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY CORRODED THROUGH AND CRACKED. THIS VEHICLE WAS MEANT TO USE FOR TRAVEL WITH MY FAMILY IN IT AND NOW IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT ALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 222,877.
I HAVE A 2004 TOYOTA TUNDRA LIMITED 4WD IN IMMACULATE CONDITION WITH 100,000 MILES. THE FRAME WAS SPRAYED WITH CORROSION AT A TOYOTA DEALER IN 2014. THE TRUCKS FRAME IS NOW COMPLETELY RUSTED AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE CALLED TOYOTA ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY DO NOT SEEM TO CARE. THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE BACK IN 2014 AND THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.
TUNDRA FRAME ROT AND RUST. IN 2014, WE PURCHASED A 2004 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH 90K MILES ON IT FOR OUR 16 YEAR OLD SON TO DRIVE. NEAR THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN 2014, THE TRUCK FRAME WAS SPRAYED BY TOYOTA UNDER THEIR LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN BY THE PERSON SELLING US THE VEHICLE. TO OUR SURPRISE,THE TRUCK RECENTLY FAILED INSPECTION FOR A RUSTED/ROTTED FRAME. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 122,892. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY CLAIM THAT THEY ADDRESSED THE ISSUE WITH THE SPRAYING BACK IN 2014 AND ARE NOT ABLE TO ASSIST FURTHER. NHTSA, PLEASE HELP US. TOYOTA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE DEFECTIVE FRAMES. PLEASE STEP UP AND ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH TOYOTA.

POPPING AND SNAPPING WHEN TURNING OR GOING OVER BUMPS IN ROAD LED TO A MECHANICAL INSPECTION. DISCOVERED THE FRAME RIGHT BEHIND BOTH FRONT WHEELS IS RUSTED/ROTTED SUCH THAT HALF OR MORE OF IT IS LITERALLY GONE. THE POPPING/SNAPPING APPARENTLY IS CAUSED BY THE FRAME KINKING AND MOVING AT THE WEAKENED POINT AND FRONT AND BACK SECTIONS CONTACTING EACH OTHER. I FEAR THAT THE FRONT PART OF THE TRUCK FRAME WITH THE WHEELS, ENGINE, AND SUSPENSION ATTACHED COULD BREAK AND CAUSE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY.
2004 TUNDRA FRAME RUSTED AND WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. INSPECTOR NOTED RUST HOLES LARGER THAN A QUARTER.
AFTER I PURCHASED MY TUMDRA USED I NOTICED THE FRAME ON THIS TRUCK HAS A SEVERE RUST ISSUE WHICH I BELIEVE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. LARGE CHUNKS OF RUST ARE COMING OFF OF THE FRAME I SPITE OF HAVING BEEN 'TREATED' BY TOYOTA IN 2015 DURING A RECALL CAMPAIGN . I POKED THE FRAME WITH A SCREW DRIVER IN ONE LOCATION AND WAS ABLE TO POKE A HOLE IN FRAME SINCE IT WAS SO WEAK FROM RUSTING. I FEAR THE TRUCK BREAKS IN 1/2 OR DOESN'T PROVIDE PROTECTION IN COLLISION. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 75K MILES AND IS IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FRAME WHICH IS WAY WORSE THAN NORMAL SURFACE RUST I'VE SEEN. I HAVE READ THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE. WE NEED HELP GETTING TOYOTA TO PROVIDE A REMEDY TO MAKE OUR VEHICLES SAFE AGAIN. PICTURES ATTACHED
OUR 2004 TUNDRA WITH 65,000 MILES WAS RECENTLY IDENTIFIED TO HAVE A RUSTY FRAME. WE PUT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE. THE DEALERSHIP DEEMED IT RUSTY TO THE POINT THAT IT COULD NOT BE COATED AND WAS A LOSS. WE CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY SAID THE FRAME PROGRAME WAS FOR 2000-03 AND IS NOW EXPIRED AND OUR 2004 WASN'T COVERED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF TRUCKS ON THE ROAD THAT ARE STILL AFFECTED BY THE FAULTY FRAMES AND TOYOTA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING. THIS LEAVES CONSUMERS WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS WORTHLESS AND DANGEROUS. A RECALL IS NEEDED TO PROTECT OUR FAMILIES AND THE ROADS WE TRAVEL ON. WE ARE GOING TO START SEEING VEHICLES COME APART ON THE ROADS AND KILLING PEOPLE.

VEHICLE FRAME IS ROTTING. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TOYOTA TUNDRA. FOR WHATEVER REASON, PRIOR RECALLS DID NOT APPLY TO THE 2004 MODEL YEAR EVEN THOUGH THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS USED IN AREAS THAT ARE TREATED WITH SALT DURING THE WINTER. FRAME CORROSION HAS RENDERED THIS VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

TUNDRA IN ANOTHER SHOP AT INDEPENDENT SHOP, THEY INFORM ME TO MAKE APPOINTMENT WITH A TOYOTA DEALER TO HAVE FRAME INSPECTED ASAP, AND DO NOT TOW ANYTHING WHATSOEVER. BALL TOYOTA CHARLESTON WVA REFUSE TO LOOK AT, AND SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO, RECALL HAS EXPIRED, SORRY WE CAN'T HELP YOU.
RUSTED FRAME' I RECEIVED A LETTER FOR RECALL FROM TOYOTA ON THE RUSTED FRAME . SO I WENT TO MY LONGTIME MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED ME IT WAS BAD, HE THEN BEGAN TO HIT PARTS OF THE FRAME WITH A SMALL HAMMER AND PUNCHED A HOLE THROUGH IT AND THAN STOPED ANY MORE HAMMERING. WHEN I CHECKED MY RECALL VIN# IT DOES NOT SHOW UP, EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED LETTERS FOR IT.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND HAD MY VEHICLE FRAME INSPECTED IN 2014. I WAS TOLD IT WAS OK AND AN UNDERCOATING WAS SPAYED ON THE FRAME. ON 11-23-2018 I WAS LOOKING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND NOTICED A SIZABLE HOLE IN THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BEHIND THE FRONT WHEEL. I HAD TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THE RUSTED HOLES ON THE FRAME. I WAS ADVISED IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER ANY CURRENT RECALLS OR CAMPAIGNS AND ADVISED TO CALL TOYOTA CORPORATE TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE. I SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE AND A SUPERVISOR AND WAS GIVEN A FLAT NO. MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY CURRENT CAMPAIGNS OR RECALLS AND THE REPAIR WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. I WAS INFORMED IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN THE CURE CONDITION.

I RECENTLY TOOK MY TRUCK INTO TARBOX TOYOTA IN RHODE ISLAND FOR A STATE REQUIRED INSPECTION. I PURCHASED MY TUNDRA FROM THIS DEALERSHIP IN 2004. THE TRUCK FAILED THE INSPECTION. A MAJOR DEFECT WAS RUST RELATED HOLES IN THE FRAME. WHEN THE TARBOX DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A RUST PREVENTING UNDERCOATING 2-1/2 YEARS AGO, I ASKED AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO HOLES IN THE FRAME. AS YOU CAN TELL BY THE ATTACHED PICTURES, THE FRAME HAS SUBSTANTIAL RUST AND A HOLE IN THE SAME AREAS EXPERIENCED BY OTHER 2004 TUNDRA OWNERS. IT IS ALSO OBVIOUS BY THE PICTURES THAT THE UNDERCOATING INSTALLED TO PREVENT RUST FAILED AND PEELED OFF--AND IN FACT COVERED UP EXISTING RUST AREAS--RATHER THAN PROVIDE PROTECTION AGAINST FUTURE RUST DAMAGE. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO ADDRESS THE RUST DAMAGE ON MY TRUCK--OR TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENHANCING THE RUST DAMAGE CAUSED BY IMPROPERLY COATING THE FRAME OVER EXISTING RUST. IN FACT, THE ADVICE OFFERED WAS TO JUST "LEASE A NEW VEHICLE." MY SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT IN ADDITION TO MYSELF, THIRD PARTY OWNERS MAY NOT BE AWARE THAT TOYOTA COVERED UP RUSTED FRAME DAMAGE WITH THE UNDERCOATING INSTALLED OVER RUST--AND I DO NOT KNOW IF THERE ARE ADDITIONAL HOLES IN THE FRAME THAT ARE NOT VISIBLE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR AN ANTI-CORROSION SPRAY OF THE SUBFRAME THAT EXPIRED IN 2015. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS INFORMED THAT SINCE THE WARRANTY PERIOD WAS EXCEEDED, THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

TEAM TOYOTA INSPECTED AND APPLIED SOME TYPE OF BLACK SPRAY AND GIVEN ME BACK MY TRUCK WHILE THE COATING WAS WET. THIS WAS DONE ON THE RECALLED WARRANTY. I BOUGHT 4 NEW MICHELIN TIRES FROM BJ'S AND HAVE THEM INSTALLED BECAUSE TEAM TOYOTA DIDN'T HAVE MICHELIN TIRES MY SIZE WHEN THEIR PROMOTIONS BUY 3 GET THE 4. 6 THOUSAND MILES DRIVEN, I TOOK MY TRUCK BACK TO BJ'S FOR TIRES ROTATION AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY FRAME ARE CORROSIVE AND NEED TO BE CAREFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

BOUGHT MY TRUCK LAST YEAR OFF A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY DID A SAFTY INSPECTION ON THE TRUCK, I WAS RECENTLY JUST TOLD I SHOULD HAVE MY FRAME CHECKED, SO I DID, AND THE FRAME DID NOT PASS BUT DO TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER FORGOT TO GET THE FRAME UNDER COATED IT VOIDED OUT GETTING A NEW FRAME, SO I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AT AND ASK THEM WHY THEY SOLD ME A TRUCK THAT HAS A BAD FRAME BUT TOLD ME THAT IT PASSED THEIR SAFTY INSPECTION, THERE ANSWER WAS SOMETIME THOSE THINGS HAPPENS AND THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. SO MY ISSUE HERE IS I OWE OVER $10.000 ON A TRUCK THAT I WAS TOLD IS IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT NOBODY WANT TO FIX SOMEONE SCREW UP. FRAME RUST, THE ENTIRE FRAME IS RUSTED AND THE SPRAY OF THE UNDER CARRIAGE IS FALLING OFF AND NOW RUSTING EVEN MORE
REAR STRAP SUPPORTING THE GAS TANK CORRODED ON ONE SIDE AND BENT DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE TANK. THIS RESULTED IN THE STRAP RUBBING AGAINST THE UNIVERSAL JOINT OF THE DRIVE TRAIN AND MAKING A CLICKING SOUND WHILE IN MOTION.
I PURCHASED MY 2004 TUNDRA FROM A SUBARU DEALER LAST SUMMER AND DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE MANY TRUCKS WHICH HAD PREMATURE FRAME RUST. TOYOTA ADMITTED IT WAS AN ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD UNDERCOATING PUT ON THE TRUCK PAID FOR BY TOYOTA, HOWEVER, CLEARLY THIS WAS INEFFECTIVE AND A TEMPORARY BAND-AID FOR INFERIOR METAL. TOYOTA STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, AND AS A COLLEGE STUDENT, I NEED ACCESS TO A SAFE VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK AS IF IT IS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, I DO NOT BELIEVE IT WOULD WITHSTAND THE IMPACT DUE TO SEVERE FRAME DETERIORATION. I UNDERSTAND THE TRUCK IS FROM 2004, HOWEVER, THE RUST ON THIS FRAME IS BEYOND A NORMAL RATE. MEANWHILE, I AM OUT $16,000 AND THE RUST HAS OVERTAKEN THE TRUCK GREATLY WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. TOYOTA STILL REFUSES TO HELP DESPITE MY GAS TANK NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AND MY PICTURES OF ALL OF THE DETERIORATION. DESPITE DOING MY RESEARCH AND SEEING HOW WELL-MAINTAINED THIS TRUCK WAS, THE FRAME ITSELF HAS RUSTED BEYOND RECOGNITION AND YET, THE OTHER PARTS REMAIN RELATIVELY INTACT. THIS VEHICLE IS OTHERWISE IN EXTRAORDINARILY GOOD SHAPE AND IS AND WAS WELL-MAINTAINED. IT ONLY HAD 58,000 MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED AND STILL HAS LESS THAN 80,000 MILES.
REAR CROSS MEMBER THAT TRAILER HITCH HOOKS TO HAS A HOLE THAT I PUSHED THRU WITH MY FINGER WHILE SHOWING A NEIGHBOR A 3 IN, CRACK IN THE CROSS MEMBER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, AND OTHER METAL FLAKING ON FRONT OF FRAME. TOYOTA TREATED FRAME DEC. OF 2014. CROSS MEMBER WAS NOT TREATED.TOYOTA CORP. OR THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME IT WAS UNSAFE TO HOOK A BOAT OR TRAILER TO THE HITCH. TOYOTA SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO REPAIR THE FRAME PER MY VIN NUMBER.
SHIFT CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY BRACKET (TOYOTA P/N 33501-0C011) HAS A DESIGN DEFECT IN THAT THE PART IS CAST WITHOUT THREADED BOLT HOLES, RELYING ON THE INSTALLATION OF THE SCREWS TO CUT THREADS, BY THE ACT OF INSTALLING THE PART AT THE FACTORY, THE RADIAL OUTWARD FORCE THAT THE SCREW EXERTS CREATES A CIRCUMFERENTIAL TENSILE STRESS AROUND THE HOLE, AND MICROFRACTURES IN THE CAST ALUMINUM. OVER TIME, THE MICROFRACTURES CAUSE FAILURE OF THE PART. WHEN THE PART HAS FINALLY BROKEN, UNKNOWN TO THE OWNER, THE VEHICLE MAY NOT FULLY ENGAGE INTO THE PARK GEAR, SUCH THAT THE PARKING PAWL DOES NOT ENGAGE, RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE POTENTIALLY ROLLING WHICH CAN CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURY, OR DEATH. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED, AND BEGAN TO ROLL AS I WAS EXITING THE VEHICLE, AND NEARLY PINNED ME UNDER THE VEHICLE. I BARELY ESCAPED SERIOUS INJURY. I HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED TOYOTA HAS DEVELOPED A REVISED PART (P/N 33501-0C012) APPARENTLY TO ADDRESS THIS DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT. SINCE OWNERS DO NOT SEE THE PART TO KNOW ITS BROKEN (ITS CONCEALED IN THE STEERING COLUMN), THEY WILL BE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THE DANGER. TOYOTA SHOULD INITIATE A VOLUTARY RECALL OR TSB TO INSPECT THE PART, AND REPLACE IT WITH THE NEWER PART IF BROKEN OR SHOWING EVIDENCE OF FRACTURE.
MY TUNDRA WAS UNDER THE FRAME RUST RECALL IN 2014. TOYOTA'S CLAIM WAS THAT THE SALT FROM THE ROADS CAUSED THE SEVERE CORROSION. AS WE ALL KNOW THIS WAS ACTUALLY FROM THE USE OF SUB STANDARD STEEL IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. MY FRAME WAS ACTUALLY DE LAMINATING, NOT JUST SIMPLE SURFACE RUST. WHEN I HAD TAKEN IT IN FOR INSPECTION ALL THAT WAS DONE WAS WIRE BRUSH THE FRAME AND SPRAY WITH AN UNDERCOATING. NOW JUST A LITTLE UNDER THREE YEARS LATER THE COATING IS PEELING OF ALONG WITH MORE LAYERS OF METAL. MOST OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WITH TACOMAS AND TUNDRAS HAD THEIR FRAMES REPLACED WHEN THEIRS WERE TAKEN IN. SO NOW I HAVE A TRUCK THAT IS NO BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE. ALSO MOST OF THE CHASSIS COMPONENTS ARE RUSTING OUT PREMATURELY AS WELL. MY SPARE TIRE WINCH MECHANISM (CARRIER) BRACKET WAS ABOUT TO RUST THROUGH, LUCKILY I CAUGHT THIS BEFORE I POSSIBLY COULD HAVE DROPPED MY SPARE WHEN TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE FROM NHTSB TAKING A LOOK AT MY VEHICLE TO SEE THE EXTENT OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 67,000 MILES ON IT. I DID CONTACT TOYOTA SERVICE ABOUT THIS, BUT THEIR ANSWER WAS YOU HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FURTHER. I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE IN THIS SITUATION. MY FRAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THANKS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE SERVICED PER THE RECALL, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED; THEREFORE, NO RECALL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY RUSTED AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE RECALL DETAILS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

MY 2004 TUNDRA FRAME IS ROTTING OUT, AND TOYOTA WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. OR TO HELP ME..
I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH A CASE MANAGER NAME MARQUITA FROM TOYOTA. I HAD CALLED THREE DAYS EARLIER AND WAS TOLD A CASE MANAGER WOULD CALL. I RECEIVED NO PHONE CALL, AND HAD TO CALL THEM MYSELF. MY TUNDRA IS ONE OF THE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE LACK FRAME PROTECTION RESULTING IN A SEVERELY RUSTY FRAME. I HAD THE FRAME INSPECTED BY A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE UNDERCOATING THAT WAS MEANT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WAS POORLY APPLIED. HUGE CHUNKS ARE MY FRAME ARE FALLING OFF AND THE FRAME IS EXPOSED CAUSING IT TO CONTINUE TO RUST. THE MASTER TECHNICIAN BROUGHT ME BACK TO SHOW HOW THE FRAME WAS NOT ORIGINALLY PREPPED AND THE UNDERCOATING WAS THINLY APPLIED. SO BACK TO THE CONVERSATION WITH THE CASE MANAGER. MARQUITA PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THE UNDERCOATING WAS A ONE TIME REMEDY TO THE FRAME RUST PROBLEM. WHETHER OR NOT THE UNDERCOATING WAS DONE WELL OR NOT, TOYOTA IS NOT WILLING TO RECTIFY A POORLY DONE "SOLUTION". THE SAME RUSTY FRAME IS UNDER ALL THE SLIME THEY APPLIED AND NOW IT IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND I BELIEVE TOYOTA SUED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FRAMES. AND ME AND THE OTHER OWNERS ARE LEFT TO RUST.

THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED A SECOND TIME AND THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS NOT SEVERE ENOUGH FOR THE FRAME TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
IN FEBRAURY 2014 I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE FRAME RUSTING ON MY TRUCK, I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO TOYOTA OF KEENE FOR INSPECTION AND THEY UNDERCOATED THE FRAME. THEY DID A LOUSY JOB OF UNDERCOATING AND I COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA, BECAUSE THEY DID WHAT THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO DO THEY WOULD NOT REVIEW OR REINSPECT THE VEHICLE. MY TUNDRA HAD 58,970 MILES ON IT WHEN IT WAS UNDERCOATED FOR THE RUST ISSUE, IT NOW HAS 66,406 MILES ON IT. THE WHOLE FRAME IS RUSTED, SO BAD WHEN I DROVE DOWN MY DRIVEWAY BIG PATCHES OF RUST FELL OFF OF IT. OPEN THE HOOD AND YOU SEE NOTHING BUT RUST. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE FOR THE ROAD BUT BECAUSE OF MY HEALTH SITUATION I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET A NEW VEHICLE. ALL I WANT IS THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE BEGINNING. THE SPARE TIRE HOLDER HAS RUSTED TO THE POINT OF LOSS OF THE USE, CARRYING THE SPARE TIRE IN THE BED ON THE BACK OF THE TRUCK, THE GAS TANK DOOR RUSTED RIGHT OFF SO I HAD TO GET A NEW DOOR, I JUST NEED SOMEONE TO HELP RESOLVE THIS UNFORTUNATE RUST BUCKET OF A SITUATION.

THIS IS AN ONGOING AND ESCALATING PROBLEM WITH THE RUSTING OF THE CHASSIS. I NOTICED A LEAK ORIGINATING FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 10-20-16 WHERE I WAS TOLD THE FUEL TANK STRAPS HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED OFF AND NOTHING WAS HOLDING THE TANK. THE DIFFERENTIAL LEAK WAS ALSO A RESULT OF EXCESSIVE RUST AND THAT THE ENTIRE REAR END WOULD NEED REPLACED FOR $2K. THE DEALER GAVE ME A RENTAL DUE TO THE SAFETY HAZARD OF THE FUEL TANK SUPPORT STRAPS BEING COMPLETELY GONE. ANOTHER $400 DOLLAR REPAIR. THE BODY OF MY TUNDRA IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AS FAR AS RUST GOES. THE "KNOWN" ISSUE OF EXCESSIVE CHASSIS CORROSION WAS ADDRESSED BY TOYOTA WITH A "BANDAID" RECALL WHERE THEY SPRAYED THE CHASSIS WITH ANTI CORROSIVE MATERIAL WHICH I HAD DONE. A YEAR LATER MOST OF THIS ANTI CORROSIVE MATERIAL HAS FLAKED OFF DUE TO THE APPLICATION OF THE MATERIAL OVER THE EXISTING RUST ON THE CHASSIS AT THE TIME. IT IS A GOOD THING THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL RUSTED OUT WHEN IT DID BECAUSE THE FUEL TANK FALLING OUT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM.
FOUND 4 INCH RUST HOLE THROUGH FRAME ON 2004 TUNDRA WITH 80,000 MILES THAT WAS TREATED WITH THE COATING IN 2014. TOYOTA CORPORATE SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO TO FIX IT AS THE RECALL OR WHATEVER EXPIRED IN 2015. HOW CONVENIENT. FRAME ROT IS A SAFETY ISSUE! THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE! IF NOT REPAIRED, THE FRAME WILL FAIL.

TOYOTA DEEMED THAT A NEW FRAME WAS NOT NEEDED AND DID THE CRC TREATMENT WHICH IS ABSOLUTE JUNK AND ONLY CAUSES THE FRAME TO RUST EVEN WORSE. REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND LEAKING FLUID. PROBLEM ALSO WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS.

WHILE UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK I NOTICED A VERY DISTURBING AND SCARY SIGHT (SEE IMAGES ATTACHED). MY FRAME IS ALMOST MISSING IN ONE SECTION UNDERNEATH. SO I GOT ONLINE TO LOOK AND SEE IF THIS IS NORMAL, AND WHAT I FIND IS THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. TOYOTA KNOWS THAT THEY HAVE SUB STANDARD FRAMES UNDER THESE AND OTHER VEHICLES. THEY PUT OUT A CAMPAIGN TO REPLACE THE FRAMES ON 2000-20003 TRUCKS, AND ALSO INCLUDED A LIMITED CAMPAIGN TO CHECK ON THE FRAMES OF VEHICLES 2004-2006. THIS CAMPAIGN ENDED IN JULY OF 2015 I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN JULY OF 2014, BUT WAS NEVER MAID AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED TOYOTA TO SEE WHY THEY SAID NOT THERE PROBLEM. I SPOKE TO THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WITH THE COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT I SPOKE WITH ONE WHO I DID NOT CATCH THERE NAME ON 6/14/2016 FROM 9:18AM-9:49AM WHERE I WAS MERELY TOLD THEY DON'T CARE THAT THERE'S AN ISSUE ALL THEY ARE LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO DO IS CHECK AND HONOR THERE CURRENT RECALL PROGRAMS. THE NEXT LADY I TALKED TOO WHO'S NAME WAS AUTUMN ON 6/15/2016 FROM 12:36-12:42 TOLD ME THE EXACT SAME THINGS. FINALLY THE LAST ONE I WILL SPEAK TOO BECAUSE I'M FALLING ON DEAF EARS IS CHRISTINE AT 2:54PM 6/16/2016 WHO I WAS TOLD WAS A SUPERVISOR IN THE COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT. TOLD ME THE EXACT SAME THINGS. WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WITH THESE FRAMES WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I WAS MERELY TOLD IT'S A COMPANY WIDE DECISION THAT WE WILL TAKE NO FURTHER ACTION. I TAKE THIS AS TOYOTA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF VEHICLE THEY PUT ON THE ROAD AS LONG AS THERE ARE STILL PROFITS BEING MADE. I KNOW THERE ARE SEVERAL MAYBE HUNDREDS MAYBE THOUSANDS OF OWNERS OF VEHICLES THAT FALL WITHIN THIS COMPLAINT I HOPE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO HELP US.
MY 2004 TUNDRA WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I NOTICED ON LEFT SIDE BACK AND FRONT WHEN IT RAINED BIG RUST SPOTS APPEARED ON MY CEMENT.
11/2014 I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR THE FRAME RECALL. IT WAS INSPECTED AND RETURNED TO ME WITH A SUMMARY THAT ALL WAS WELL AND THE FRAME WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. 6 MONTHS LATER I HAD IT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SOME REPAIRS TO BRAKES AND INSPECTION STICKER. NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE FRAME CONDITION AT THAT TIME. 1 WEEK LATER, I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE FRONT GAS TANK STRAP SNAPPED, WHILE WE WERE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ABLE TO STOP VEHICLE BEFORE ANY DISASTER OCCURRED. I SECURED THE TANK AND RETURNED MY TRUCK HOME. I DID NOT PURSUE ANY ACTION AT THE TIME BECAUSE OF DISTRESS AND ANGER OVER THE INCIDENT. I BROUGHT TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP THAT PERFORMED THE RECALL ON BEHALF OF TOYOTA CORP. THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE FRAME AND IMMEDIATELY ADMITTED TO FACT THAT THE RECALL WORK WAS NOT PERFORMED CORRECTLY. THE ETCHANT WAS NOT PROPERLY REMOVED AND THE FRAME WAS RECOATED. THE GAS TANK STRAPS WERE ALSO COMPROMISED BY THE ETCHANT. 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED THE TANK STRAP SNAPPED. I HAVE OPENED A CASE # WITH TOYOTA, BUT THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT THERE FAULT AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP ME. THE DEALERSHIP MENTIONED THAT THEY WOULD RE-STRIP AND RE-COAT A SECOND TIME, BUT I WANT COMPENSATION FOR THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE ITS TOYOTA THAT NEEDS TO DEAL WITH AND TOYOTA IS SAYING ITS THE DEALERSHIP.

I FILED A CASE WITH TOYOTA AND THEY SAID THEY COMPLETED THERE PART OF THE RECALL. WHICH WAS APPARENTLY PAINT OVER THE RUST.

THE TOYOTA DEALER DETERMINED IT ONLY NEEDED TO BE UNDERCOATED. THE TRUCK WAS UNDERCOATED ON JUNE 25TH 2015. I JUST HAD MY TRUCK LOOKED AT BY AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE DUE TO A FRONT END ISSUE AND THEY ASKED ME TO COME LOOK AT THE TRUCK ON THE LIFT AND THEY SHOWED ME WHERE ON THE REAR PART OF THE FRAME IT WAS SEPARATING. HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE? THAT APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS AFTER THE FRAME WAS DIAGNOSED BY A TOYOTA DEALER TO ONLY NEED AN UNDERCOATING THAT MY TRUCK FRAME IS NOW SEPARATING AND WILL LIKELY NOT HOLD UP FOR ANOTHER YEAR PER THE MECHANIC AT THE GARAGE.

THE FOLLOWING WEEK MY SPARE TIRE COMPLETELY ROTTED OFF CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL AS I CAME OFF HIGHWAY. THANK GOD I ONLY ENDED UP RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE A 2003 HIGHLANDER WITH 180000 MILES STILL IN GREAT SHAPE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR & TEAR, IT IS DANGEROUS & TOYOTA SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. THEY NEW 2 YEARS AGO THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRAMES & TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE FRAME IF NECESSARY BUT DID NOT DO WHAT THEY PROMISED.

IN DEC. 2014 I HAD MY TOYOTA INSPECT THE FRAME ON MY TUNDRA. UNDER THERE PROGRAM IF THERE IS NO HOLES THEY WOULD UNDERCOAT IT. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO HOLES. IN OCTOBER 2015 I TRIED TO GAT IT INSPECTED AND IT FAILED FOR THE FRAME. I WAS TOLD THE TRUCK WAS IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT THE FRAME. IT ONLY HAS 76K MILES ON IT. THEY SPRAYED OVER THE HOLES. NOW THE BOOKS ARE CLOSED AND TOYOTA WON'T REPLACE THE FRAME.

WHEN THE DEALER FIXED THE BRAKE, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY VERY RUSTED PARTS WHICH THEN LED ME TO DISCOVER THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME OF THE TRUCK IS HEAVILY RUSTED. DEALER CALLED IT FLAKING. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THE DEALER WAS INSTRUCTED TO INSPECT THE TRUCK AND SEND RESULTS TO TOYOTA. THEY NOW CALL IT SURFACE RUST. I ASKED THE DEALER TO PUT IN WRITING THAT THE TRUCK WAS SAFE BUT THEY DID NOT. I AM NOW CONCERNED THAT WITH THE FRAME, BOLTS, NUTS AND JOINTS SO RUSTY IT WILL SOON BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE LOOKED AT OTHER TUNDRA'S THE SAME AGE AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE APPEARS TO HAVE AN UNDERCOATING THAT I DO NOT. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ANSWER THAT TOYOTA HAS GIVEN ME WHICH STATES THAT IT IS ONLY SURFACE RUST. *TR

VEHICLE FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE SEEMS TO HAVE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF RUST AND DETERIORATION. AS I PERFORM MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE, I AM REPLACING RUSTED PARTS INCLUDING BOLTS, DRAIN PLUGS AS WELL AS SPRAYING THE UNDERCARRIAGE WITH WD-40, 3M UNDERCOATING SPRAY AND CORROSION STOP. THIS ISSUE IS AN ON-GOING FIGHT TO KEEP THE RUST AT BAY. *TR
THERE ARE TWO CABLES THAT HOLD THE TAILGATE IN PLACE WHEN FULLY OPENED(EXTENDED). YESTERDAY(7/17/08) WHILE UNLOADING MY MOTORCYCLE, BOTH CABLES BROKE SIMULTANEOUSLY MID WAY THROUGH THE UNLOADING PROCESS. THE CABLES BROKE AT THE EXACT SAME PLACE WHICH WAS EXACTLY HALF WAY FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. THE CABLE IS ENCLOSED IN A PLASTIC SLEEVE. THAT SLEEVE IS NOT SEALED AT EACH END. WHEN THE TAILGATE IS IN THE CLOSED POSITION, WHICH IS MOST OF THE TIME, RAIN OR OTHER MOISTURE COLLECTS IN THE PLASTIC ENCLOSURE AND SETTLES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE "U" SHAPED TUBE. OVER TIME THAT MOISTURE HAS CAUSED THE CABLES TO RUST AND WEAKEN THUS THE BREAK IN MY OPINION. THE RESULT OF THE BRAKE WAS THAT THE TAILGATE FEEL UNANNOUNCED TO THE TOP OF THE BUMPER THUS DENTING THE BUMPER AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING HARM TO THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS DOING THE UNLOADING. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A FLAWED PRODUCT. *TR
SUN ROOF EXPLODED AND GLASS FELL INSIDE OF VEHICLE. ALSO, DAMAGED OUTSIDE OF CAB AND HARD COVER ON BED OF TRUCK. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 79 DEGREES AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES OR OBSTACKLES AROUND TO HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM.*AK
