RECALLCampaign #25V595000

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner vehicles. Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

Fix: Dealers will update the instrument panel software for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB08 and 25TA08. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB05 and 25LA05.

Your 2025 Tacoma's smart key and door lock system malfunctioned repeatedly from October 2025 through February 2026. Your doors would lock by themselves even when you were trying to exit, the truck would think your key fob was inside when it was in your pocket outside, the door handle touch-lock would fail, and the key card couldn't lock the vehicle—sometimes causing random beeps while parked. The dealership service advisor was even locked inside the vehicle by this malfunction during a service visit. The problem never showed any diagnostic trouble codes across three service attempts, and Toyota's corporate case was closed without fixing it. Resolving this would likely require Toyota to reprogram or replace the smart key control module and door lock actuators.

Your 2025 Tacoma's Apple CarPlay frequently disconnects or fails to connect, happening both at startup and randomly while driving. This occurs across multiple iPhones and cables even after updating your phone and truck software, and many other 4th-generation Tacoma owners report the same problem. Because CarPlay handles navigation, calls, and messaging hands-free, these disconnections force you to manually interact with your phone while driving, creating a safety distraction. The fix will likely require a software update or hardware replacement to the Audio Multimedia 6.0 system.

My 2025 Toyota Tacoma has an ongoing issue where Apple CarPlay frequently disconnects or fails to connect altogether. This happens both at startup and randomly while driving. The problem occurs across multiple iPhones, different cables, and even after ensuring that both the phone and the truck’s software are updated.
