I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE HOOD OPENED UP AND CRASHED INTO THE WINDSHIELD. THE HOOD WILL NOT DROP BACK DOWN. I TRIED TO GET THE DOOR WINDOWS DOWN AND THE POWER WINDOWS WERE STUCK. I BRAKED HARD AND USED THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO PULL OVER. I HAD GLASS CHIPS ALL OVER ME AND COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT. ONCE I PULLED OVER I INSPECTED THE HOOD LATCH AND FOUND BOTH LATCHES WERE RUSTED AND LATCHED OPEN. THE HORRIBLE DESIGNS TOYOTA HAS ALMOST KILLED ME AND THE ONLY REASON I WAS NOT HIT WAS BECAUSE OF NO OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS TRAVELING NORTH AT 40 MPH, AND SHE TURNED AROUND BRIEFLY TO CHECK IF HER LITTLE BROTHER WAS BUCKLED IN HIS SEAT BELT. WHEN SHE TURN BACK AROUND THE CAR WAS ON THE CURVE AND SHE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS SHE COULD TO STOP THE CAR, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP AND PRECEDED TO ACCELERATE. SHE WENT THROUGH PARTIALLY TWO BRICK WALLS, KNOCKED DOWN A STOP AND STREET SIGN, AND THE CAR FLIPPED A COUPLE OF TIMES. THE CAR ENDED UP LANDING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, LEAVING THE CAR LEFT SIDE UP. MY DAUGHTER SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, AND HER KNEES WERE CUT FROM THE GLASS OF THE WINDOW IN A RESULT OF THE CAR CRASHING. LUCKILY, MY SON SUFFERED NO INJURIES. I AM VERY CONCERNED, WHY DID THE BRAKES FAIL IN MY DAUGHTER'S ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. *TR
TOYOTA 1999 CAMRY CE/LE/XLE SEDAN 4D DROVE OVER A 4" STREET DEEP 25MPH ALL 4 MOTOR MOUNT BROKEN ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. HAD A WARRANTY BUT TOYOTA REFUSED TO FIX IT BY SAYING THAT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. AND INSURANCE COMPANY GEICO REFUSED TO FIX & SAID THAT IT WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT. AT LAST WE HAD TO BUY ANOTHER USED ENGINE TO RUN THE CAR. *TR
TOYOTA SOLARA 1999 HOOD LATCH FAILED. HOOD OPENED AND CRASHED INTO WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. *TR

TOYOTA SOLARA 1999 HOOD OPENED UP DURING DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND CRASHED INTO THE WINDSHIELD BREAKING THE WINDSHIELD INTO DRIVERS SIDE SEAT AND OBSTRUCTING VISION THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN PREVENTING THE DRIVER FROM LOOKING OUTSIDE TO PULL OVER. 2. DRIVER NARROWLY ESCAPED TRAFFIC COLLISION BECAUSE OF OBSTRUCTED VISION. 3. DRIVER PULLED OVER TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER. PULLED DOWN THE HOOD AND TIED THE HOOD TO THE CHASSIS USING ROPE. THE WINDSHIELD WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED. ALL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AS THE CAR WAS NOT REPAIRED. *TR
REGULATOR/MOTOR ON BOTH REAR POWER WINDOWS ARE BROKEN, (WINDOWS WILL ROLL-UP) PLUS, BOTH HANDLES ON FRONT WINDOWS ARE BROKEN. TO OPEN DOOR, ONE MUST ROLL WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. *TR
WATER LEAKED INTO THE VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THE DOORS AND WINDOWS WERE CLOSED. *NLM
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE OFF IN CONSUMER'S HAND.*JB
AS CONSUMER WAS GETTING INTO VEHICLE SOMETHING BETWEEN DRIVER'S SEAT AND FLOOR CAUSED A SEVERE CUT ON HER LOWER LEG. *AK UNCOVERED SHARP METAL ON SEAT ADJUSTMENT TRACT INJURED THE DRIVER. *YH
BOTTOM OF DRIVER'S DOOR IS VERY SHARP WHICH CAUSED DRIVER TO RECEIVE FIVE STITCHES. *AK
THE TOYOTA DEALER SERVICE CENTER WHERE THEY INSTALLED THE CAR ALARM, THEY HAD TO CUT THE FIREWALL SEALS WHICH CAUSED THE EXHAUST FUMES AND ANY OTHER FUMES TO ENTER INTO THE VEHICLE, WHICH MAY MAKE OCCUPANT TO FEEL SICK. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TESTED THE ORIGINAL BUMPER OF THE 1999 CAMRY AND WAS ABLE TO IGNITE THE BUMPER BY A POCKET LIGHTER WITHIN 45 SECONDS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
