Your 2012 RAM 2500's fuel tank developed broken tubes that prevent you from filling the tank. The dealership determined you need a complete fuel tank replacement, but Mopar no longer manufactures the original tank and the replacement available has the wrong configuration and doesn't fit your truck. You're left without an OEM solution despite having a Million Mile warranty.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 2500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE, THE FILLER NECK REJECTED FUEL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALLOW THE PUMP TO REFUEL AND WOULD RESPOND AS IF THERE WERE A FULL TANK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,771. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN ACCELARATING, FROM A STOP ESPECIALLY, THE THROTTLE INTERMITANTLY WILL GIVE AN ALMOST DEAD RESPONSE. IT CAN BE PRESSED ALL OF THE WAY DOWN TO WIDE OPEN AND IT SLOWELY DEVELOPES POWER AND DOES NOT REACH FULL POWER UNTILL AFTER THE 1, 2 SHIFT. IT IS DANGEROUS AND IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NO MIL LIGHT NOR TROIBLE CODES ARE PRESENT.

WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DODGE RAM DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO CORRECT THE SAFETY ISSUE, THEY TOLD ME THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. FOR MORE INFORMATION I WOULD HAVE TO CALL CHRYSLER. ON 12/26/14 I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE APRIL 2015. ON MAY 1ST, I RECEIVED A SUBSEQUENT "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" P65/NHTSA 14V-635 FROM CHRYSLER, SO I CALLED MY LOCAL DOGE RAM DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD AGAIN THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND I WOULD HAVE TO CALL CHRYSLER TO GET MORE INFORMATION. I DO NOT BELIEVE CHRYSLER IS TAKING THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL SERIOUSLY. THAT BEING SAID, ON THE SAFETY NOTICE IT SAYS "A LEAKING DIESEL FUEL FILTER/HEATER COULD CAUSE UNDER HOODSMOKE AND/OR AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE". *TR

THE CONTACT FELT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN EARLY DECEMBER 2014 STATING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH A DIESEL FUEL HEATER ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ON MY TRUCK THAT MAY LEAD TO O-RING FAILURE AND POTENTIAL FIRE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER TWICE AND AS OF LAST CONTACT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN A "FIX" MIGHT BE AVAILABLE. SINCE POSSIBLE FIRE IS THE RISK AND THE DEALER, INITIALLY, DID NOT EVEN KNOW THEY WAS/IS A RECALL, I AM CONCERNED. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT CHRYSLER SINCE THE DEALER KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT. SINCE I WAS TALKING WITH THE CHRYSLER DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, I ASSUMED I WAS TALKING WITH CHRYSLER. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE MY LAST CONTACT WITH THEM AND I HAVE HEARD NOTHING TO DATE. CAN YOU HELP OR PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE.

HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
