Open Safety Recalls (1)
NHTSA Campaign: 25V912000
Component: TIRES:TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2026 Rogue vehicles. The incorrect-size spare tire may have been installed, which does not match the tire size and inflation pressure information on the tire placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Risk: Incorrect spare tire pressure information on the placard may lead to incorrect inflation of the spare tire, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the spare tire assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 25, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PD180. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 6, 2026.

Your rear windshield suddenly shattered with a loud pop and crash sound while you were closing your driver's side door in your driveway, creating a large hole in the center and sending glass into your trunk. No active recalls were listed for your vehicle at the time, though you found reports of similar incidents from other owners online. Your dealership will need to inspect the damage to determine the cause and whether it's related to recalls affecting other models.

Your engine caught fire while parked at work, with white smoke visible coming from under the hood. Before the fire, you noticed the car hesitated and lurched forward while stopped at a red light, with no warning lights appearing. The fire department extinguished the engine compartment fire, and your vehicle was declared a total loss by insurance without being diagnosed or repaired. The issue may involve engine oil leaks, faulty wiring, or fuel system components igniting under the hood.

Your 2026 Nissan Rogue is making a high-pitched whistling or whining noise that gets louder as you drive faster. The noise persists even with the audio system and electronics turned off, and you suspect it's related to engine bearing wear (Recall 26V080). This type of bearing failure can potentially lead to complete engine shutdown and fire risk, making the vehicle unsafe to drive in traffic, especially combined with restart hesitation you've experienced.

Steering →1 issue
After purchasing your 2026 Nissan Rogue and changing the oil, you noticed the steering wheel felt loose and turned too easily in both directions, making the vehicle difficult to control. You discovered the vehicle has an unrepaired safety recall status, which concerned you enough to return it due to these unsafe handling characteristics. The dealer may need to inspect and repair the steering system components and address any outstanding recalls before the vehicle is safe to drive.

Steering,forward Collision Avoidance,lane Departure →1 issue
Your Rogue's lane-keeping assist system is behaving erratically—it overshoots lane boundaries by about 2 feet on both sides and then rapidly swings back and forth between the lines for up to a minute before settling down. Even on straight roads, the steering wheel continues to make minor oscillating movements. The dealer confirmed the system is functioning as designed, but you believe the software has a fundamental flaw that makes the vehicle unsafe for autonomous steering assistance. Resolving this would require Nissan to review and potentially reprogram the lane-keeping software.

Electrical System →1 issue
While driving at highway speeds at night, you adjusted the dashboard brightness using the dimmer control on the lower left side of the dash. After reducing the brightness to about 40%, your entire instrument panel went blank, a loud alarm sounded, and you lost all gauges and displays for a few seconds before the screen restarted at full brightness. When you tried to dim the screen again, the instrument panel rebooted a second time while driving on the highway.

Your rear window shattered without warning after you closed the front passenger door while loading items into your 2026 Nissan Rogue, at only 800 miles. The dealer's temporary tape repair failed when you closed the doors, so you had the window replaced at an independent mechanic. This could indicate a defect in how the rear glass is installed or tempered.

Your rear view mirror vibrates excessively when driving on bumpy or uneven roads, and the rear of your car shakes noticeably. This was confirmed by your dealership a few days after purchase. The fix will likely involve inspecting and tightening the mirror mount or investigating suspension components causing the rear shimmy.
