Mar 2024

NHTSA Campaign: 24V748000

Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue and 2025 INFINITI QX80 vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R24B3 and R24B4.

NHTSA Campaign: 26V080000

Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure.

Risk: Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Fix: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters are expected to be mailed March 27, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V437. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 27, 2026.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break.

Risk: Broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters are expected to be mailed March 27, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9. While your car was stopped at a red light, both rear windows suddenly shattered and exploded without any warning signs. The windows then collapsed inward. This created a serious safety hazard—if you had been driving when this happened, it could have caused an accident. The vehicle will need complete rear window replacement and inspection to determine why the glass spontaneously failed.

Your power tailgate closes on its own without warning, and you've been struck in the head and shoulder several times as a result. The dealer has investigated multiple times but cannot identify the cause. This issue began shortly after you purchased the vehicle in March 2025. Filed: Mar 2026

Your rental vehicle had all four tires that were completely worn down (bald), which triggered the tire pressure warning light in December. You had to add air to limp home safely, and both AAA and a mobile tire repair company confirmed the tires were unsafe. Despite the rental company placing an inspection hold on the vehicle, they did not properly check the tires and continued renting the car to you, forcing you to drive in rain and snow with children in a vehicle that posed a hydroplaning risk. The rental company refused to authorize roadside assistance repairs because you hadn't purchased their protection plan, and later charged you over $1,000 for the vehicle despite the safety issue.
