2023 Nissan Rogue Other Problems

While operating my 2023 Nissan Rogue, the panoramic sunroof exploded outward without any external impact. The incident occurred under normal driving conditions with no debris strike, collision, or environmental hazard.

I was driving my vehicle after dropping my son off at school and my back windshield exploded without warning. I was unsure what to do and there was nowhere to pull over. I drove home and called my local Nissan dealer who I was leasing the vehicle from and they said the repair would not be covered.

On, January 16, 2026, the rear windshield spontaneously exploded as we were entering our vehicle

Upon entering the vehicle and shutting the driver side door to drive home the back windshield imploded without any warning. The hatch was not used that day and with the shutting of the drivers side door the rear windshield made a popping noise and caved in completely on itself all over the back of my vehicle before the vehicle was even turned on.

Rear window EXPLODED sending glass 10' out and then 4 to 5 feet inside the vehicle. Defroster had been turned off about 15 minutes prior. Was starting to backout of parking spot when an explosion of glass flew in/out of vehicle then hissing sounds, ending with sound of glass falling.

While driving on the interstate there was a loud explosion, like gunfire, and the sunroof exploded.We had just gotten on the interstate and was going between 55-60 MPH.

The rear window exploded out of no where on my 2023 Nissan Rogue. It was parked, I was outside when this happened. No vehicles or other people around, window just exploded.

My 2023 Nissan Rogue rear Window just exploded out. It was not a hot day. I parked in my driveway, came out next day to seer glass all over and my rear window shattered.

On December 3, 2025, while parked in the hospital parking lot, the rear hatch window of my vehicle suddenly shattered without any impact, collision, or outside interference. I approached my vehicle and found the glass completely busted outward. I immediately contacted hospital security.

Takes a while for seatbelt light to go off ,sluggish driving when driving has a sound to it like its not pulling,also when using automatic starter to start car up for a while before entering it it cut off within 2 minutes and if I start it when I am a few steps from the car with the automatic starter once I get in the car it tells me to apply brake then push start when I do that the car won't start like that I have to completely cut the vehicle off and push start button,when using heat it sometimes has a burning smell.

This morning when I got into my car and closed the door, the back window exploded. Nothing hit it, there were no cracks, etc. It simply sounded like a gunshot and fell inward into the back of my Rogue.

Component/System: Engine — Main Bearing (KR15 VC-Turbo Engine Recall 25V-197) I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue manufactured in Smyrna, Tennessee, equipped with the 1.5 L VC-Turbo (KR15) engine. Nissan issued a safety recall stating that the engine bearings could fail and cause sudden loss of power while driving, but the company still has no remedy or repair available.

I parked my car at 740 am 9/10 and went to work. I am a nurse and I work for an outpatient clinic. I parked in a deck that is also monitored by security.

Was driving my Nissan rogue and the back windshield exploded. Seems to be a concurrent issue online and I wish Nissan would do anything about it.

My car just randomly started having issues. It will start one day then take forever to start the next day. I’ve experienced bad odor to the vehicle and also the vehicle jumps into gears instead of smoothly shifting into gear.

I called the dealer Empire Nissan in Ontario were we purchased the vehicle to have the recall fixed. I was informed they don't have the parts in to fix it. I asked do they know when more or less it will arrive?

Vehicle has been having multiple issues a repairs since May. Contacted Nissan corporate multiple times regarding concern for issues and safety. Vehicle has become disable multiple times along the Highway at early morning hours, ie 2 am.

Hatchback glass exploded

• Component: Oil Gasket Pan (can be inspected upon request) • On 10 June 2025, I took my vehicle to Firestone for routine maintenance. Upon an attempt to reinsert the oil plug, the technician could not do so; therefore, the oil gasket pan had to be replaced. The oil plug was not damaged.

The vehicle a Nissan Rogue SV 2023, with a turbo engine constantly decelerated a number of times. sometimes it gave a warning and other times it does not. The first time it happened I started the engine, and the car crawled like a turtle.

The sunroof exploded while on the expressway going 75mph. At first after hearing the loud explosion, I thought it was a blowout tire. Almost got hit by two cars as I was pulling over .I took the car to the Nissan dealership and I was told I would have to leave the car there while they contact Nissan and send them pictures.

I entered the 2023 Nissan Rogue around [XXX] on St. Simons Island GA, on [XXX] with my granddaughter. Upon shutting the doors, the rear hatchback window exploded into pieces and blew out.

Just sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle and the rear window exploded. Nothing touched it, nothing hit or bumped it. It just shattered.

Driving on street when second row, passenger window literally exploded. No other cars near by, no impact of any kind…it simply exploded as if it were shot at. I actually called police and they said this did not happen.

I was parked safely in a parking space with no vehicles around me and the car was clean when my front collision alert went off again and the malfunction warning light came on. Distance sensor was replaced. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and I continue to have faulty sensor issues.

The 2023 Nissan Rogue we have as a lease with 9,000 miles on it. 10 minutes after driving it and going on the highway with in 1 minutes the engine abruptly started knocking and stuttering and immediate loss of motive power. Fortunately the car was in the left most lane and an exist was able to enter the exit ramp but the vehicle started sputtering and stalled and would not restart.

The car often emits a strong gasoline odor. When I enter my garage, and the doors are closed, I often smell a strong odor of gas coming from the car. On occasion I have turned on the fan for the heater and I get the odor of gasoline inside the cabin of the car.

Monday, June 17, 2023 at approximately 9:10 am I was driving my 4 month Nissan Rogue 2023 on 91N in Connecticut near exit 23/24 in traffic in the 2nd lane in 4 total under speed limit during the end of rush hour. My sunroof without warning exploded. It was terrifying and I believed it was a plane, or a explosive truck blowing up.

My daughter and I we leaving Walmart in Mulberry, FL. We has been there a few hours starting at 10:15 am. We got our nails done and then shopped for a little while.

On several occasions in the past 2 weeks my nissan rogue while in the idling/park position will get a bad gas fume smell inside the vehicle. I did call ferrario nissan in sayre pa and told them about the situation. The service dept, personell told me that if its not a constant smell that they cannot really do anything about it.

There is a strong odor of gasoline in the cabin of the vehicle when driving. The gasoline smell is also strong in the front of the car. I cannot park the vehicle in the garage due to the smell.

The vehicle has a very poor low volume horn. Three times I was on a freeway and attempted to blow the horn to warn the driver next to me because they moved into my driving lane and if I did not put on my brakes, it would have caused an accident.

we were driving west on i26 in nc, when the engine failure light came on, the car bucked and would not go. pulled off road, car did power up but would not go. if this had happened 6 miles later we would have been in constuction with cement barriers on both sides and unable to pull over.

Fuel smell from engine compartment that enters cabin if heat turned on. Took to dealer, nothing showed up on computer. Unable to see leak, or evidence of fuel leak.

The following message has shown up twice on my vehicle's information system. Warning Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service Now The first time this happened was about 2 weeks ago, around June 2nd. The car was towed into the dealership but they couldn't find anything wrong.

EGR valve and oil leaking The malfunction light came on and the car reduced power and almost killed me on the highway in Dallas Tx! Yes has been confirmed by trophy Nissan in Mesquite! I have also had to replace motor mount transmission mount torque strut mount the turbo hose!

Feb.29,2024 I had a warning light come on that said "Forward driving aids temporarily disabled front sensor blocked" when this message appears my cruise control is disabled. I contacted my dealer they had me bring it in, they said they fixed it. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs because the warning light was still coming on.

While driving 40-50 MPH, my vehicle abruptly dropped to a speed of below 20 MPH without warning, scaring me to the point of nearly driving off the side of the road, almost getting rear-ended, and catapulting me forcefully toward my windshield.

I got recall notice from Nissan I went to Nissan Cresent Dealership 6600 State Hwy 121, Frisco, TX 75034 on 15th Aug 2025. Nissan person told me within 1 month I will get a call from Nissan Dealer and I can bring the my Veichle . Several times I called them but I got same response .

I was gently and normally closing my trunk as usual today and the entire glass window of the trunk completely shattered. It sounded like a loud pop or a gunshot. Glass flew all over the car and my daughter was in the back seat.

I purchased this car in September and the recall on it was not disclosed to me, I asked the person at the dealership, he said no recalls were on this car. I am afraid to drive this car because it is a major issue with the engine failing while driving.

I've been waiting for Nissan to come up for a remedy for recall # 25V - 437. I've called the dealership several times and have been told that there isn't a remedy yet for the problem. On Saturday, while driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue (currently under recall) down the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration. At the same time, every warning light illuminated on the dashboard. I am writing to formally report a concern regarding a potential design defect in the 2023 Nissan Rogue that I believe poses a safety risk. During a routine oil change at a Nissan dealership, the metal drain plug detached from the vehicle’s oil pan. The dealership determined that the plastic oil pan had to be replaced and charged me approximately $500 for the repair.

While driving down I-95 north, we heard a very loud noise that sounded like a gunshot and then shattering. When we looked, it was the rear glass that busted and shattered for some unknown reason.

The 2023 rogue has a known problem of smelling like fuel after driving. I have had multiple service calls. They have replaced a hose and other things.

Oil Pan/Oil Pan Gasket damaged. Plastic oil pan with a metal bolt is due to fail anytime when replacing oil/doing an oil change. Nissan has, for about 99%, done all of my oil changes.

I bought the car November, 2023. Today I have 5300 miles. Two months after purchase the car while I was driving, it shifted from "D" drive to "1".

While driving the car in certain exit of hwy the car gives me the sign to exit out and suddenly shuts the gas off and slows the car about 20 to 30 miles in 2 seconds , after I past the exit I regain the control of the gas acceleration , took it to dealer for repair 3 times manager drove the car and witness the problem and told me we have no fix for this problem.

I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue SV, I have a consistant odor problem, I have talk to corporate, and my dealer and neither will take responsiblity for the problem. The odor of gasoline smell is both outside and inside of the vehicle. I am going tomorrow (again) to the dealer to get some computer update and will again ask why they cannot fix this problem.

No component had failed. I feel me and my childrens safety is at risk because when I start my car each time I smell fuel. Most of the time it will eventually dissipate, but sometimes it takes a while.

The "Engine Malfunction Power Reduced" light came on while I was driving on a highway during a traffic slow down in Houston, TX on September 9, 2023. After the light came on, I stepped on the accelerator and the vehicle was moving very slowly. I quickly turned on the emergency lights to alert other drivers on the highway and pulled slowly towards the right shoulder.

When using the backup camera, the screen will turn black while the car is in motion. This happens every time I drive my car. I have taken the car to the dealership I purchased it from twice, and have been told that they cannot duplicate the issue.

After driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue for approximately 1.5 months (1700 miles) I started smelling a gas odor inside the cabin while driving and while parked. The smell is causing my eyes and throat to burn and occasional nausea. While parked in my garage the smell becomes so overwhelming that I must remove the vehicle from the garage to "air out" for a few hours.

The smell of gas fumes was inside and outside of the car. I took a CO2 blood test and the CO2 levels came back high. The dealership said a recall was coming out soon.

The cabin of the vehicle fills with a gasoline odor when driven. When I park the vehicle in the garage (with engine OFF), the garage fills with a gasoline odor. I have experienced nausea and headaches with the smell.

When I park my 2023 Nissan Rogue in the garage, the garage fills with a strong gas smell. This happens about 50% of the time. There are no performance issues or warning lights involved.

This is my 2nd 2023 Nissan Rogue. The first one was purchase in October 2022 Around Thanksgiving 2022 we started smelling gas inside the car and outside the car. After the dealer confirmed the smell and told us there was no fix at the time, we left car at dealership and took a loaner, several weeks later the dealer said there is still no fix.

While I was leaving a restaurant my back windshield spontaneously shattered in the middle of me driving it, I had the front and back heat on at the time it’s shattered, I am a first-time driver at the age of [XXX] , and I was extremely terrifying for my safety and other drivers safety while I drove my vehicle after the glass shattered out of nowhere due to no fault of my own, was worried about glass being thrown around in the vehicle, but got the vehicle home safely, I am now responsible for paying out-of-pocket for Safelite to replace this back windshield, there were no warning signs it just shattered on its own!

I have taken my vehicle in 2 or 3 separate times since June 2025 to get this recall done, and Gwinnett Place Nissan keeps making excuses as to why they cannot do the recall for me. Now my vehicle is on the side of the road broken down because they failed to complete my recall multiple times

I am submitting a complaint regarding my 2 year-old vehicle due to a recurring/mechanical issue that is impacting its safety and reliability. While I understand the vehicle’s age, this problem appears to be beyond normal wear and tear and warrants review. In addition the condition has resulted in ongoing problems that I believe require further evaluation and resolution.

I was parking at my workplace and when I was getting out of my vehicle and back windshield glass just completely shattered and I have done some research to find out that I’m not the only one that deal with the issue a lot others people have had that happen to them.

At 7:20am on Dec 5, 2025, we used the remote start on our 2023 nissan rogue which was in our unopened garage. We heard a loud sound and walked out to find the back window shattered. It looks like it blew out by the heating element (defroster) on the window.

My back window shattered when it wasn’t even touched by anything

I hust bought a 2023 Nissan Roghe SV, Took it home next day Tried to start the vehicle but the dashboard display system was malfunctionig, tried to shft to reverse or drive and the vehicle wouldn't go foward or backwards.... It flashed all the icons on the dash board.

Received a recall notice for a motor bearing that could fail. Received recall notice on8/27 /25 They state parts are available 04/2025 And they will notify me when the parts are in. I think thay should be fixing my problem.

While driving, I suddenly saw the message "WARNING! MALFUNCTION. Refer to owner’s manual" display on my dashboard, which caused a loss of power and made it difficult to accelerate.

I got into my vehicle on drivers side as I closed my door the rear windshield shattered.

When the air conditioning is on during the start of the vehicle a vinegar smell comes through the inside of the vehicle. It has distracted me when starting the vehicles I tried to change air filters and it did nothing Yes it’s been reproduced Yes they inspected it and did a recall fix on the turbo hose. That did not fix it No warnings

This vehicle was sold by Copart with a clean title despite prior federal NMVTIS junk/salvage reporting and insurance loss. The salvage record was concealed from the buyer and not properly disclosed by the seller. There is a pattern involving Copart, Hertz, Progressive, and other companies hiding salvage data, VIN laundering, and reselling unsafe vehicles.

Automatic breaking system shuts off and on. As well as, the reverse camera screen goes blank when putting vehicle into reverse.

I bought my vehicle only a year ago and my sunroof glass blew off while I was driving on a highway. There was no object involved. I believe it was a defective product.

I believe there is an issue with the transmission. While driving, the vehicle is unable to accelerate. The engine revs high and the RPMs go really high.

After shutting down the engine and letting the vehicle rest for a while, re-ignition causes a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin. This can lead to light-headedness, headaches, and nausea.

Back window shattered which seems to be a common issue looking at reports from others

When this vehicle is parked in the garage the odor of gasoline fills the garage. When this vehicle is parked outside the odor of gasoline dissappears.

The drivers seat in my 2023 Nissan Rogue SLis inoperable and does not move forward or backwards. I seat is unsafe to drive for me.

When parked and off, or sitting in idle a major smell of gasoline is spewing out of the HVAC system in the car. It makes me nauseous and major headaches. This can’t be safe to drive.

Strong smell of raw gasoline coming from the front of the vehicle after driving and while driving. If parked in garage entire garage has strong odor that penetrates into attached house. Very hazardous to health and emissions.

The smell of gas is so strong inside and outside of the cabin of the vehicle, that it is causing health issues. Nissan told me to put the car on air circulation as a temporary fix, but it is not working. My entire body is shaky and I’m suffering from migraines and nausea.
