2023 Nissan Rogue Wipers & Visibility Problems

My car had been parked while I was at work. I was the only person there. I got in the driver's side seat and put my purse in the passenger seat.

The rear window exploded while driving down the road. It sounded like a gun went off.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware that the rear windshield had exploded and shattered. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer.

On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2025, about 3:50pm EST, I was driving East on Hwy 25, 5 miles west of near Knox Central High School, heading towards Barbourville, Ky. I was coming from Kingsport, Tn heading to Corbin, Ky to take my mother to her cancer doctors in Lexington on Monday, the 3rd.

The front, movable section of my panoramic sunroof unexpectedly exploded/shattered while driving. There were no other vehicles in front of me and it was a clear sunny day with nothing overhead. The sunroof and cover were closed.

In August 2024, I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue. On January 12, 2025, after a cold front brought ice and snow into our area in North Mississippi, I noticed that the rear windshield was busted. When I contacted my insurance provider, I was informed that there was no information stating that this issue was expected.

The rear windshield on my Nissan Rogue shattered suddenly without any impact while the vehicle was parked. The glass appeared to explode outward. I later discovered other owners have reported similar issues with Rogue rear windshields shattering unexpectedly.

I was waiting to turn when my rear window had a sudden "BANG" noise and shattered. There was no snow on my car, and no evidence of anything going inside my car that could've caused the damage. As I drove, the glass continued to shatter more and more and ended up in my vehicle, and potentially on the road as well.

As I was driving down the road, I heard a loud noise and the back windshield spontaneously cracked into tiny little pieces all throughout the entire back windshield. I parked and when I closed my door chunks of the back windshield fell off as well.

My back window shattered for no reason. I had been driving for about 20 minutes. The AC was on my feet and not for the rear defrost.

Rear window shattered without previous damage or impact of any object. Vehicle was parked in the middle of a garage, temperature was 32F and driver was present during event. Heard loud noise followed by rear glass shattering and fragments flying all the way to back seat passengers.

Was driving in early morning heard a thud sound and discovered back window on hatch had shattered. No one was around, I did have the rear defrost on and not the wiper.

I found that the back windshield of my 2023 Nissan Rogue, which I had parked in my garage, was chipped, and the glass shards were scattered on the ground.

Back window completely broke while in my garage overnight

While driving down a paved rural road, with no other vehicles around the back window of the lift gate spontaneously shattered. The back window had sustained no damage and had no projectiles exiting or entering the vehicle. The weather conditions are cold and wet and the rear defroster was on at the time.

The rear window suddenly burst/ cracked/ shattered from the inside out.

The car had been garaged since Thursday evening and all day Friday. Used it Saturday morning to drive 5 miles, went into my location and when I came out 2 hours later, the rear window on the liftgate was crumbled. Nothing impacted it to cause this.

Got into car shut the door and the rear window spontaneously shattered.

Rear window shield busted randomly in cold. Car was parked and when I returned to parked car the rear window was shattered.

The screen for the Rear view camera is turning off for couple of seconds during the reversing of the car. During that time there is no visibility in the rear of the car and can cause an colossion.
