NHTSA Campaign: 24V154000
Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Titan, Frontier, Infiniti QX60, Pathfinder, 2023-2024 Sentra, Versa, Kicks, Infiniti QX50, and 2023 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
Risk: An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.
NHTSA Campaign: 24V176000
Component: SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. The lap belt pretensioner in the left-side front seat belt assembly may be improperly secured, due to a missing rivet. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208 "Occupant Crash Protection," 209 "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Your rear brake pads completely wore out at 26,000 miles while front pads remained in good condition under normal driving. The rear brake pads appear to be receiving disproportionate braking force for their design capacity. This could reduce your vehicle's stopping ability and create a safety risk. Nissan may need to inspect the brake system balance or replace rear brake pads with parts engineered for your vehicle's weight.

Your vehicle's rear brakes are applying suddenly and aggressively on their own without you touching the brake pedal, creating a dangerous situation where your car unexpectedly slows down in traffic. This has caused your rear brake pads to wear down extremely fast (to 2mm thickness) while your front pads are still in good condition, suggesting an electronic malfunction in the brake system rather than normal wear. The dealership has refused to diagnose the electronic brake system under warranty, instead treating it as routine maintenance that you must pay for yourself.

Your 2024 Pathfinder is experiencing premature brake wear. The dealership resurfaced your rear brake rotors at 19,000 miles without explaining why, and now at 27,000 miles they're saying the rear rotors and pads need replacement. Since your vehicle is primarily highway-driven with no towing or heavy use, this early wear seems unusual and may indicate a brake system defect. The fix will likely involve replacing the rear brake rotors and brake pads.

Your 2024 Pathfinder's rear brake pads wore out completely at just 24,000 miles while the front pads still have plenty of life left. This uneven wear pattern is unusual and suggests your rear brakes may be doing more work than they should or not releasing properly, which could indicate a problem with brake balance, the rear calipers, or the electronic brake system. The dealership declined to cover this under warranty, but premature brake wear can affect your stopping power and safety. Fixing this will likely require inspecting and possibly replacing the rear brake calipers, brake pads, and having the brake system's force distribution checked.

Your rear brake pads needed replacement at just 20,000 miles, which is unusually early for a well-maintained vehicle. The vehicle's weight appears to cause abnormal and rapid wear on the rear brake pads compared to typical lifespan expectations. This premature wear could increase the risk of brake failure if not caught early, especially for owners who may not regularly monitor brake condition.

Your rear brake pads are completely worn out after only 12,000 miles of driving. You may notice reduced braking performance or hear squeaking sounds from the rear. According to online reports, this appears to be a recurring problem with this model year that Nissan hasn't officially addressed. The fix will likely involve replacing the rear brake pads and possibly having the brake rotors inspected or resurfaced.

Engine →2 issues
Your engine failed suddenly due to coolant getting into the engine, causing catastrophic damage that requires a complete engine replacement. When the engine finally started, thick white smoke poured from the exhaust, creating a serious safety risk — you had to remove your child from the vehicle immediately to avoid potential fire or toxic fume exposure. There were no warning signs or dashboard alerts before this happened, even though all maintenance was up to date. The fix will require a full engine replacement and inspection of related cooling system components.

Your engine revs up and surges unexpectedly when the car is parked or in drive, even when you're not pressing the accelerator. This appears to be related to a known issue affecting some Nissan Rogue models. A technician will likely need to diagnose the idle control system and may need to update engine software or replace components related to fuel injection or throttle control.

Electrical System,wheels,engine →1 issue
Your vehicle suddenly stopped on the highway with no warning while you were driving with your family. A "System malfunction" warning appeared, followed by the entire electrical system shutting down, and the car wouldn't restart. You had to be towed home, and the dealership hasn't been able to resolve the issue despite multiple visits. This sudden loss of power creates a serious safety hazard on busy roads.

Unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car locked itself with your child inside on two separate occasions, even though your key fob was in the vehicle and the car wasn't running. Your Pathfinder has a safety feature that should keep the car unlocked whenever the key fob is detected inside, but this feature appears to have malfunctioned in your case. The issue may be intermittent and difficult for a technician to reproduce. A diagnostic scan of your vehicle's keyless entry and locking system would be needed to identify and resolve the problem.

Carry Handle, Shell, Base, chest Clip, Buckle, Harness, tether, Lower Anchor (on Car Seat Or Vehicle) →1 issue
The anchor tab on your Chicco NextFit car seat has become visibly stressed and appears to be failing after two years of normal use. This component is critical for properly securing the seat during a crash, and the manufacturer confirmed the stress but offered no explanation or solution. You're requesting an investigation to determine if this is an isolated defect or a broader safety issue affecting other car seats. A repair or replacement of the anchor tab assembly may be needed to restore proper seat installation.

Electrical System,engine,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your 2024 Pathfinder has experienced multiple electrical and fuel system issues within just a few months of ownership. Since August 2023, you've had a fuel pump replacement at 16 miles, repeated check engine lights that required replacing the battery, air-fuel sensor, fuel injectors and fuel lines, and an O2 sensor. Most recently, your vehicle has lost power while driving and required a tow to the dealership for investigation. The dealership may need to perform a comprehensive diagnostic to identify the underlying cause of these recurring issues.

Engine,fuel/propulsion System,forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your vehicle's forward collision avoidance system randomly stops working while you're driving, disabling critical safety features like automatic emergency braking and collision warning. This problem keeps happening even after the distance sensor was replaced, and it's unpredictable—the safety features may seem to be working one moment and then shut off without warning. Your car has also experienced multiple serious electrical and engine issues that suggest a deeper control system problem. The repair will likely involve diagnosing and replacing the forward distance sensor and potentially addressing underlying electrical or control module issues.

Forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Multiple warning lights (engine, ABS, collision avoidance, and traction control) came on in your Pathfinder. The dealership found the right wheel sensor was malfunctioning and replaced it, but the warning lights returned within minutes. The lights came back again shortly after, and the service team is unsure what's causing the recurring issue. This could potentially affect your vehicle's ability to brake or control traction while driving, which poses a safety concern.

Service Brakes, forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your brake pads and rotors are wearing out much faster than normal—the dealership replaced them at 22,000 miles and is asking to replace them again at 41,000 miles. Additionally, your automatic braking system sometimes activates unexpectedly when following another vehicle too closely in cruise control, which can be alarming. This may require inspection of your braking system for excessive wear causes and recalibration or repair of your forward collision avoidance system.

Power Train,engine →1 issue
Your 2024 Nissan is showing multiple warning lights including the check engine light, reduced power warning, and traction control malfunction. You've already replaced the camshaft sensor, but the warning lights keep coming back. A mechanic found that your timing chain is severely worn (at a level 7) even though your car has less than 86,000 miles and you've maintained regular oil changes. Fixing the timing chain is a major engine repair that requires removing the timing cover and replacing the worn chain.

Tires →1 issue
Your 2024 Pathfinder's original Bridgestone tires are pulling your vehicle involuntarily into road grooves, causing the car to swerve side to side and feel like the rear is fishtailing—especially on highways and in wet conditions. This handling problem forces you to constantly correct the steering to stay in your lane, creating a safety risk. The dealer and tire shop have only visually inspected the tires and refuse to test drive the vehicle on the highway where the problem occurs. A replacement tire set or tire alignment/balance check may resolve the issue.

Steering,suspension →1 issue
Your new 2024 Pathfinder's factory Bridgestone tires pull involuntarily into road grooves while driving, especially on highways and in rain, forcing you to constantly correct steering to stay in your lane. This groove wander is a handling problem that could create a safety risk if you can't quickly correct course. The dealer and tire shop have refused to test drive the vehicle on the specific road where the problem occurs, only visually inspecting the tires instead. Resolving this issue will likely require either replacing the OE tires with a different model or investigating the vehicle's suspension geometry for compatibility with the tire design.

Electrical System,visibility/wiper →1 issue
Your car has experienced multiple battery drain issues, with the dealership identifying that the wires are coated with a soy-based material that attracts rodents to chew on them. You've had to replace wires and jump-start the car several times, and your wiper fluid pump has also stopped working. The dealership has serviced your car five times in four months trying to address these problems.

Power Train,engine,visibility/wiper →1 issue
Your engine made unusual noises and your car stalled while driving without any warning light appearing. You also experienced the vehicle jerking backward when shifting from Park to Drive, and your windshield wipers got stuck in the middle of the windshield for about three minutes after you turned them on. Your battery had already been replaced two months after buying the car new. The dealer was unable to reproduce the problem and didn't make any repairs, though the manufacturer has been notified.
